she hasn’t posted in a while on YT and now has long ass extensions and a… tooth gem!?
She’s never beating those allegations, she came back just in time for the holiday season of pushing gift guides, codes, etc. When someone posted her latest update on here one of the comments suggested the timing was suspect and we’d see gift guides/consumption hauls sooner rather than later - here we are…
i miss how the products used to be affordable and how engaging they used to be. like shout outs to the loyal viewers at the beginning of the videos
I wanted a ND palette, and was deciding between the I Need a Nude, I Want a Warm and My Dream palettes. I also wanted the MoonDust on Space Cowboy. In my country, I cannot get the Sephora app, so I couldn’t get their BF preview. I was casually watching Morgan Turner and thanks to her I found out that My Dream and Space Cowboy would be 50% off during Black Friday!
In which we exorcise our personal demons, in hopes of having them out of the way before a new week begins!

Maybe it’s just me, but it totally grosses me out when content creators literally only post to shill things and make a quick buck of us! I get that things are hard for people financially- but content creators, if it’s hard for you, imagine how hard it is for us! Makemeupmissa is probably one of the clearest offenders of makeup shilling- she never posts content now unless it’s to promote an affiliate code or link (or straight up ask her followers to buy her things) but she’s not the only offender. This BS behavior is so abhorrent to me. What other cash grabbing content creators are you sick of?
Any thoughts greatly appreciated :) Thanks
I’ve been watching makeup and beauty YouTube for years. Now, I can’t afford makeup like I used to be able to, and it’s not that I’m making less money, it’s that’s everything is more expensive. With the rise of people trying to get rich via the internet, everything I watch feels like an ad and unfortunately I really can’t afford to buy makeup at the rate it’s being sold to us. I can’t watch all of my favorite beauty YouTubers the way I used to, because I know I can’t afford the things they’re buying. It sucks how things have changed, but I think it’s time for me to make a change too (so maybe I can save for a house one day, pipe dream I know) so please tell me your favorite frugal YouTubers! I’m talking project pan, shop my stash, using old makeup, looks with what they already have, etc.. anyone who has creative and engaging content! It’s rough times out here and I hope that we can all find ways to make life a little bit easier.
Before this starts, I was a Jackie Aina fan for many years. I've been watching this woman on and off before she was anybody, so I had absolutely nothing against her.
As we all know, we have many threads on here and there's many a twitter post and tiktok about Jackie blocking people for essentially no reason. It's referenced as a right of passage in the online beauty community. I had somehow escaped this for many years... until she started coming for me on tiktok and actually harassing me to the point I had to block HER. Instead of the other way around.
I hadn't watched her in a while so I hadn't realized that she shifted her content completely to pandering to other rich people about luxury living and saw her pop up on my tiktok feed. She wanted to try and be relatable and talk about how she has to budget, and I commented to indicate that this was not relatable given her obvious financial position. My comment was meant to be funny and constructive, but I can see why she wouldn't like it. That was my mistake, as I didn't realize that she no longer wanted to associate with us poor people who were around before the content shift, lol. I wasn't trying to be rude but I was trying to make a point that in hindsight, didn't need to be made. She's aware of her financial position and so is anyone who watches her, and I own my mistake in this. If she wants to try to lie to people to be more relatable, that's her business.
She replied to my comment to point out that she's not being relatable, just honest and I apologized and let her know I was a long time fan and accepted her correction. Her initial comment was defensive, but not rude which is why I replied to apologize. And then she just kept going, telling me the same things over and over and getting more and more rude about it each time. I took it to DMs to apologize again because I thought, how embarrassing for her to be behaving like that in public. And I, as an old time fan, recognized that she did deserve a proper apology for my comment and wanted to make sure she got it. And she wrote me an insulting 5 paragraph essay on the subject. When I tried to just ignore her, she kept going. Every 15 minutes there was a new comment or message saying the same damn thing. She was telling me to stop arguing with her when she sent the last 7 messages and no one was arguing with her but herself!
I guess she really had nothing better to do, since normally I would have been blocked instead of interacted with. She's only getting a hundred or so comments per post so maybe that's why.
Anyway, I will now be happy to see her continue to lose relevancy and continue to need to budget 😂 On a more sincere note, I really hope she's getting the help with her mental health that she needs.
TLDR; Jackie Aina is so bored that instead of blocking everyone under the sun, she will just harass people into blocking her now. Mentally, I sincerely hope that she's getting the help she needs.
Enjoy this post in TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTYkMokWb/
when i was younger, zoella was my LIFE!!! im having so much trouble finding youtubers who are like her. i've watched alllll of her videos from 2012-2015 these past few weeks and idk what to watch anymore 😓 please give me your fav british girlies, ones who post now or back in the day !! (extra points if they do christmas videos!!)
What are the influencers trying to influence you to buy, and why are you just not gonna buy it?
Talk us all out of buying the one product you want the most right now!
I used to watch her all the time, and then honestly as petty as this is, she started rubbing me the wrong way. Idk, like she comes off as not genuine. She doesn’t really post to YouTube anymore, unless it’s trying to sell something. Does she even sell her beauty line anymore? Did anyone buy it?
It seems live every OG Beauty Influencer is doing TikTok Live events to sell their own products or other products. Have you been to one? Do you think they’re actually making money? Have you ever bought anything?
I saw MannyMUA did not post a YouTube video for his new launch because he “didn’t have time” but instead went live on TikTok and posted a few snippets there.
Lauren Mae posted her luxury advent calendar reviews for 2024 and it feels like such a waste of time because they're all sold out already. Maybe I view these videos for different reasons, but I'm genuinely interested in trying one out but I like knowing which is the best one ahead of time.
I guess it's useful for knowing for next year?? I guess??
edit: for clarity I enjoy them a great deal! I just wonder what the purpose of them is other than to drive up the hype for next year's
They’ve released pictures of the collection!
Thanks to the recent community poll and feedback section, we are now allowing one day of the week where memes can be posted as stand alone content! We have chosen Monday so your week can start off (hopefully) better!
No stand alone self promo, please!
Don’t get me wrong I get marketing but I think they’ve been going overboard. Especially on top of the large amount they pay them
Sephora’s Black Friday sale is a dud. They’re doing the Ulta days-of-beauty thing.
I've been eyeing french makeup artist Violette Serrat's makeup Violette_fr line for a whole now. The blushes and lip tints look really nice, if overpriced. Then again, 90% of beauty items are overpriced, so whatever. But her newest release just made me laugh. It's face stickers. €37 face stickers. Of the kind you get on amazon for a few euro's/dollars. I may be easily influenced, but this feels like a bridge too far. Is this a weird move for a brand that presents itself as very parisian chic? Or is it just me? 🤔
The launch included 48 foundation shades, 32 concealers, and 16 primers. Looks very inclusive.

I randomly remembered the brand after reading about Lime Crime discontinuing their makeup line. I started to just remember all the various brands we've lost along the way, which ones made sense and which ones didn't. I feel as if FLESH appeared at the peak of the makeup craze and just fizzled out almost immediately. The thing is, based off the reviews and the fact that it was launched by a mega company (Revlon) I can't figure out what went wrong? Was it just a sign of the times (Pandemic and people getting more into Skincare than makeup atp ?), would they fare better if they launched in 2024? Just waxing philosophical I suppose.
