Any 2-in-1 shampoo+conditioner combos that are safe for fantasy color hair?

I'm currently dealing with unexpected drain pipe issues in my house, resulting in needing to run as little water as possible for now. Which means speed showers. No telling yet how long this issue with the house will last before we can get it fixed, but definitely longer than I can get by with skipping hair washing and/or dry shampoo. I still need to wash my hair in the shower sometimes, but I need to do it faster, so that I run less water.

I have natural brown hair, with the ends lightened then dyed purple. 2B/2C waves. I've always done well with preserving my color by using color safe shampoos & conditioners, but it always takes a long time to get them rinsed out, no matter how little I use of either. My drain pipes won't let me take that kind of time right now. Conditioner-only washing has never worked for me. Neither has shampoo-only, and skipping conditioner entirely or using a leave-in. If I could find a 2-in-1 that's color safe, that could significantly cut down my shower time.

Are there any 2-in-1 shampoo+conditioner combos that are safe for fantasy colors? Bonus points if they rinse out easily!

Hairstyle based on a Mood Board Experiment!

(M21) I'm doing an experiment where we give eachother ideas for a new hairstyle based on a mood board. We each create a mood board that we feel represents us and our personalities, then we use that as inspiration for a haircut/color/style. The mood board is meant to be a representation of you and your personality, this method will hopefully help us find hair that suit us on a deeper level than just a face shape. If you're unfamiliar with moodboards they're essentially a photo collage of things that you enjoy that you feel represents your personality or aesthetic. Mine is pictured above but I'd love to see some others linked in the comments!

What's the longest lasting blackest black hair dye out there?(vegan)

I've been using Garnier Olia and it's great but seemingly fades quickly on my hair. Would love alternatives. im going for as dark as possible.

Advice on how to get my stylist to quite cutting layers around my face?

I have been going to the same stylist for years. The more time passes, the more I feel like I am not getting what I want in her chair. She is excellent with color usually though. And she is a great friend. I think I am mot using the right words. Help?

On numerous occasions I have been pretty specific about saying I don’t want tons of layering with my current style and especially not around my face. I finally used the word “blunt” and that seems to work for the longest part of my hair, but she still turned the chair around to where I couldn’t see what she was doing and proceeded to cut layers from my bangs down the sides of my face. I hate this look. It adds a roundness to my already round face. I want LONG hair in the front.

I want almost the look of clip in bangs with long hair. Should I say that? I tried “short bangs with long hair and no layers.”

When I go this week I will definitely say “I do not want to cut any face-framing layers around my face”

The challenge is that I do want a tiny amount of layering just at the longest ends to add a natural wave to my ends.

How can I better communicate what I want to my stylist?

I also think my bangs are too “thick” and want to grow the pieces highest up on my scalp out. I have short above eyebrow bangs that I sometimes style straight, sometimes wavy. The thicker they are, the more work I have to do to them.

    Thanks in advance!

    Lightening accidental dye?

Hi! I recently used the Kristin Ess signature gloss in chocolate Cosmo. I had always bought the clear version and honestly didn’t realize there were pigmented versions. Really stupid mistake, but I accidentally dyed my hair a very dark brown. Before that, my hair was my natural medium brown, not chemically treated at all.

I’ve tried coating with oil for hours and heating, I’ve tried baking soda with dandruff shampoo, and neither has significantly faded the dye.

Would Color Oops be a good option for me? I’m hesitant to do to anything that will make my hair look… for lack of a better word, cheap. The current color isn’t that bad, it’s just not a good color for me. What I definitely don’t want is orange hair, uneven color, etc. and I would rather wait for the color to naturally fade than do anything with harsh chemicals.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Can you help me plan a new haircare routine for after hair dye

I now have my hair bleached from virgin with a vivid yellow. I love my new hair. It is incredible.

I have 2 arctic fox ordered. I hope to spare one of these for when my hair fades and I will apply that. In approx 4 weeks maybe.

With another one I hope to prepare a solution with the dye and my hair mask and apply that with every wash.

Previous to my new color I was using a hair mask after every wash. After that I was using a leave in conditioner followed by a hair oil on the ends (olaplex oil).

How will I start a new haircare routine now?

My favourite hair mask is a hydrating mask. Do I need to get a reconstructing or protein mask? I have olaplex no.3 ready to start with my next hair wash day in about 4 days time.

I also have redken abc, L'Oréal molecular treatment. I will cycle between all of these every second wash or so.

I was thinking about using an olaplex.no3 as the pre shampoo, then shampoo, then the L'Oréal molecular serum or the redken abc mask.

Will I use the a moisture mask mixed with a semi dye after this? Or could I mix some dye into one of the bond treatments that I have.

Where will I introduce the semi in my routine?

I was reading online about bleeding hair color and bleeding can occur easily from touching hair to humid environments. In my country the summers get far too humid. How can I mind my color and slow down bleeding?

Any helping in building a new routine would be great and thanks.

    Black dye over navy blue?

Will a semi-permanent black dye over navy blue fade back to blue over time? I love my navy hair, but I’m going to a family wedding and want to do something more natural. If I put a semi-permanent black dye over the navy, would it eventually wash out to reveal the navy again?

    A question about black dye

    Hi!

So for two years I had black box dyed hair. (I know, I know) I went to a stylist and in two sessions we were able to get bright red skunk stripes.

This leads me to my question. I love this hair, but unfortunately I am no longer financially available to keep up with it as it costs 300 every 8 weeks. If I was to use a semi permanent dye like arctic fox (open to reccomendations on specific dyes) would it be easier to get my hair back to the skunk stripes in the future vs black box dye?

Open to any input anyone may have. have. Thank you!

    Maintaining Strawberry-ish Rose Gold?

I just went to the salon and had my normally dark hair bleached and dyed with Paul Mitchell rose gold. I'd love to maintain it with a color conditioner at home or something between root bleaches and touch ups.

Everything I'm finding is too pink or bright. And copper is too red. Any recommendations?

best shade of blonde for my skin tone?

I tend to look better in gold and warmer colors or warmer versions of cool colors, but I want something close to platinum that still has warmth to it. I’ve since bleached my roots and re-toned my hair and it’s way too cool/lavender toned and I hate it.

    How to brighten ends?

Hoping photo helps visualise what I mean.

I have been getting my hair highlighted since 2021 but had a baby recently and money is tight (where I am a head of highlights is almost €300). So I bought all the proper supplies myself and have been doing them at home every few months.

However. I haven’t brought the bleach down over any previous lightened hair to avoid bands/damage. However!! My ends have gotten so dark. Is there a way to lighten them? Am I being too paranoid by not bringing the bleach down onto ends for the last like ten mins or so?

    Any help greatly appreciated x

    Demi permanent brown?

I I've been bleaching then dying my hair for about 3 years now and want to go back to a brunette color for a bit. However I might immediately hate it and want to remove it without killing my hair. I usually use arctic fox when coloring so I could theoretically make my own brown shade but I'm wondering if there are any similar dyes that have a brown shade and will wash out in a similar timeframe. Would be great if I didn't have to use a filler first, but I can. Not picky on the shade of brown, just don't want it too dark (I'm too fair-skinned for dark brunette tones).

What should I do with my hair after I chop off a few inches?

I had a blue balayage that I last refreshed in October. It’s faded a lot and I plan to chop off 3.5 inches. There will still be some blue left, but it will be pretty sparse.

I’m about to start a new job and want a new style to go with it. I’ve been thinking about a caramel(esque?) balayage, but I’m not sure if that will work with my natural hair color. I don’t think the remaining blue will impact it too much since caramel is so orange.

    Any thoughts or alternative ideas?
