I have been trying everything from going to two different derms giving me from steroids, antibiotics, anti fungal. I even tried taking more vitamins like b-complex, iron, zinc, and omega 3. It got rid of the dry cuts on the side but now im left with this smooth red rash and it turns red whenever I eat. I have only been using vaseline.
I'm a loyal user of the Dr. Dennis Gross AHA/BHA Cleanser, and my skin has been STRUGGLING since I ran out. I've fallen on some kind of tough financial times and am looking for a more cost effective alternative (although I'm not entirely closed off to repurchasing). I also saw that Murad has an AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser. Does anyone have any thoughts on how the two brands compare or have any suggestions for alternatives to the Dr. Dennis Gross cleanser?
I recently started using a oil based cleanser and I feel like my skin really likes it but when I go to rinse it off, the water just feels so harsh and my skin gets so dry. Any advice welcome
Hello,
So I normally do a 2-step face wash, a cleansing oil followed by a facial cleanser by Round Lab. However, I recently purchased the La Roche-Posay B3 Dark Spot Corrector Gel Facial Cleanser with Melasyl and Niacinamide. Would it be ideal to add a 3rd to my routine or is it too much? Would it be better to rotate it with my Round Lab facial cleanser?
Is this a good product for sensitive skin? Their website has a lot of review bombs and I'm not sure it's worth the risk.
I haven’t been using this routine for long and I was searching the internet just to double check if my routine was ok. I’ve never really seen anyone talking about using a facial cleanser in their routine so I didn’t really care but I’ve been researching it and I was wondering if I should put it into my routine.
This is my 8th week, I have gotten a boat load of acne around my normal breakout areas (jaw and chin). I started applying differin every day starting 6 weeks ago, and didnt notice any changes until now. Am I starting to purge? I dont know what to think because everywhere online says the purge should start at weeks 2-6, not week 8. I am worried that this is just irritation caused by the differin.
Hi all,
I have been using 2.5% benzoyl peroxide gel morning and night after using it only at night for almost a year. Ever since using this gel twice a day instead of just once a day, my acne has improved drastically and so I want to keep on going with this.
The only downside is that ever since doing this, I would always experience my skin feeling tingly and burning, it’s never to a painful level where I feel like I need to wash it off immediately, it’s just really uncomfortable and bothersome. I only experience this around my eyes and above my lip.
I was thinking of possibly incorporating a calming balm into my routine that could help alleviate or prevent this burning feeling I get in these specific areas of my face. If you have any suggestions, I’d greatly appreciate them!
Thank you so much!
Hi
I'm looking for some feedback on my current routine please. I have moderate acne which is successfully diminishing with Differin (have been using for almost five months, but for three of those months I was travelling in the developing world, so couldn't always do my full routine!). My skin type is sensitive and acne prone. I have eczema on my body and get flaky around my nose, mouth and eyelids when my skin is irritated.
My current routine is this:
AM
PM
I want to add in Azelaic acid, where (if anywhere) should I insert this into my routine?
Any other feedback is super appreciated! Ive recently added the celimax ampoule and the hydrating toner, honestly just for fun, but they've had no irritating effects so I'm keeping them.
hey so i was using epiduo and i think it was somewhat working but im left with acne scars. should i continue using epiduo to get rid of acne scars? and i also have skin pigmentation, maybe you could help me or recommend some not-so-harsh product that could help me get rid of acne scars and skin pigmentation? thank you. some products that is beginner-friendly so my skin won’t break out
I'm looking for something like the joseon sunscreen, I tried it a while back and the formula was amazing and I didn't feel all sticky, but the price is a bit too much for me. Anyone know more affordable and common options(in europe preferably) that are similar?
Hey everyone, I'm 50 years old and had a terrible case of acne during my teens and twenties. Unfortunately, the marks are still visible 25 years later. Is there any way I can get rid of these scars and clear my skin?
I'm an old-school guy who didn't really know skincare was a thing back then. Now that I'm seeing so much about it, I wonder if anything can be done to improve my skin. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Unless it's too late?
glitter body wash
looking for a glitter body wash that leaves the glitter behind? i don’t have sensitive skin on my arms and legs and just want to be sparkly. spent $13 on a little thing from lush and it didn’t stick past the shower. i don’t have a skincare routine but have relatively clear skin barring hormonal acne. like i said, i just wanna be sparkly!
I'm trying to buy some Asian skincare products for my father in law's wife and would love some recommendations. She likes trying new products, so anything novel, cutely packaged, targeting hydration or aging would be amazing. I think she has a preference for Japanese products but also open to others. Thank you in advance!
So 3/4 of the month I have wonderful skin. Right before my time of the month I get a breakout. It’s only one and I should be grateful that’s it’s only one. Has anyone experienced this and how do I get rid of it. I’m in birth control and getting off birth control isn’t a possibility
Hello! Im currently prescribed to use epiduo forte (adapalene + benzoyl peroxide) at night.
I want to reduce my acne scars and hyperpigmentation on my face so I plan to buy the cos de baha traxenamic and niacinamide serum.
Should i still add azelaic acid or vitamin C to my routine or would it be too harsh on my skin?
Thanks!
Hey All, Looking for some advice and recommendations on my current routine and maybe new products to try please. My skin type is very oily and for the most part I feel my current routine keeps it under control until later in the day. The only real downside which annoys me at the minute is by 2-3pm after using a mattifying sunscreen in the morning is I start to get really oily and greasy again and I want to try and combat that. I also have quite large pores/sebaceous filaments on my nose area so any advice for this would be greatly appreciated to keep it under control.
Morning: • Paulas Choice Skin Balancing Cleanser • Paulas Choice Skin Balancing Moisturiser SPF30
Evening: • Paulas Choice Skin Balancing Cleanser • Paulas Choice Salicylic Acid (Every other day between retinoid) • e.l.f. Retinoid Serum (Every other day between Salicylic acid) • Paulas Choice Skin Balancing Moisturiser
I'm open to trying new products to help with the issues listed above. Any comments are greatly appreciated!
ADHD Friendly Routine Help
Hi all! One of my go-to life mottos is “anything worth doing is worth doing halfway.” It really helps me when I’m stuck in an ADHD rut and can’t motivate myself to do the things. If it’s something good for me, it’s worth doing even a crappy job of it. I’ve found many different ways of existing and taking care of myself even when it feels impossible.
But skincare. Skincare is something I just cannot stick to. The ONLY thing I am good about is using a makeup remover wipe every night before bed.
If it requires turning on water, opening and closing many bottles, keeping track of the order of products… nope. My brain will not let me do that with any consistency.
I’d love to get some suggestions on other super easy things I can do to care for my skin! I’m in my mid-30s. I have oily skin, lots of clearly filled sebaceous filaments, and hormonal acne. I’d love to find a wipe that is a good cleanser. Maybe even something also in wipe form to help with the other things.
I’m not trying to have flawless glass skin. Just less… whatever it is I have now.
All ideas, tips, products, etc are welcome!
I've purchased A313 but I'm not sure if I should be layering before or after my lotion. I'm also using it as a tester to see how well my skin reacts to a retinol but eventually I'd like to move to Tret.
I'm trying to reduce the risk of purging. Thank you!!
So I've had acne and oily skin since like 11 years old, I'm now 30. I've been taking spearmint pills the last 3 months an i no longer have super oily skin, (or bad gas during ovulation or before period). However i do still break out before/during period. Since the spearmint has had a positive effect should i just up the dosage and see if i can completely cure the breakouts or add something else. I currently take 1000mg, thinking maybe i should up it to 2. (not interested in oral pharmaceuticals, but ok with topical.)
I've done tret, and it doesn't do anything for the breakouts. I've done azelaic acid with tranexamic, which i really liked for scars but didn't really stop breakouts. (took a short break from it because I'm getting a chemical peel, plan to resume). I've tried clymadicin and it just made me super dry.
About two years ago I opted to get laser hair removal because I hated shaving, couldn’t afford to continually wax for years on end, and was too tired to fight people about my body hair. I don’t remember what laser was used, but I got 6 rounds for my underarms and bikini areas, and I was told that that would be enough to see results that were equivalent to my arm hair. For reference, I’m pale and my underarm/bikini areas are coarser and dark brown/black, and my arm hair is really fine, golden/ashy blond, and barely noticeable. Obviously 6 sessions barely made a dent and now my hair grows back at different speeds making it look patchy, but worse it also makes it impossible to wax.
I’m really regretting spending so much money to not see results, and am really bummed that I have to revert to shaving, aka the main reason I got laser in the first place. I wish I’d just left my hair how it was, but now I feel more compelled to remove it because of how it grows back. Is my only option to go back and get more treatments?
I've been prescribed doxy and adapalene 0.3% for my acne. Never got acne this bad but it all started when I stopped my pills. I'm also back on it and I'm on week 1 of adapalene 0.3% and the area where i would get so much acne (around my jaw and neck) is starting to itch. I might have to down my usage to every other night. I tried using it every night straight for 3 days... My current skincare routine is:
AM: Cetaphil Gentle cleanser Sunscreen
PM: Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser Adapalene 0.3% Aloe vera gel moisturizer (I only use this when it gets super dry otherwise I don't use any moisturizer at all)
I have been thinking if I could incorporate the Some by Mi AHA BHA toner during AM routine and then replacing the aloe moisturizer with the cetaphil moisturizer at night.
What do you guys think? Thank you in advance!
I have;
I’m quite new to skincare, and i’ve gotten a LRP Effaclar Micro Peeling purifying gel, but i won’t use it daily and at most 3 times a week as it has SA and is an exfoliant.
I’m looking for a gentle, hydrating cleanser that i can use in the PM and/or in the AM that doesn’t have too much harsh or drying out active ingredients as my other products already has active ingredients
Looking for anything to clean my pores and face well, hydrate my skin, ceramide/ninacinamides are bonus too. Any help? Thanks!
P.S: So far i’ve been looking at the LRP Toleraine Gentle Hydrating Cleanser, LRP Effaclar Foaming purifying Foaming cleanser and, the CeraVe Hydrating cleanser.
I'm currently on Accutane and spironolactone for cystic and hormonal acne, and it's clearing up beautifully, but there are some dark scars left behind. I used Bio-Oil in my teens for stretch marks, but I'm wondering if it's still the best remedy, or if there have been more effective treatments introduced on the market since? I likely won't be getting any laser treatments as the scarring isn't very severe, just looking for at home topical treatments. :)
I feel like I’ve always had really bad eye bags but I don’t know how to get rid of them. I sleep enough so I’m not sure what else can cause them. I also have smile lines I would like to get rid of 🥲 if any products would help me please lmk!! Thank you
I had my eyebrows waxed a week ago for the first time. I now have like over 30 bumps going across both eyebrows, in between them, and even some under my eyebrows. It's bad. My husband had his done and he isn't breaking out. My skin has gotten way more sensitive since I've gotten older (29f) i used to never break out. I use thayers face wash, I switch back and forth between the aloe and snow mushroom. Everything else breaks me out. A few months ago my face was so clear (even during my time of month)
I was using the thayers face wash (alternating between the two) Thayers non scented toner (the rose petal one breaks me out) The ordinary niacinamide and zinc serum The ordinary organic cold pressed rose hip seed oil Thayers barrier bestie face cream
I was using all that in that order and my face was not breaking out.
I'm traveling rn and have been gone for two months and forgot my serums. At first, I didn't think it'd be a big deal. Now I know it is. I went to ulta ab a week ago and got the serum and rose hip seed oil. I'm noticing a difference, but i don't think that's what caused the breakout over my eyebrows? I've never ever had a breakout like that. Am I allergic to waxing? It wasn't a rash, just sooooo many little bumps that turned into pimples. It's crazy.
I also bought a night time serum set from the ordinary that is: Hyaluronic acid Retinol Rose hip seed oil Can I use all these products together? Or is the too much? I'm pretty new to skincare bc i use to just have to wash my face with dove. That's not an option anymore. Any advice?
Sorry for the format on my phone. Also, sorry for the rambling. I'm adhd and very bad with staying on topic and in order.
