And yes, so i have a matte foundation but its too light, so i was wondering if i could get a darker shade in dewy and mix them both. Any tips on how much darker i should go?

i need a sunscreen reccomendation that i can buy in australia🇦🇺 i don’t mind if it leaves some shine on the face as long as its not too oily looking. also does sunscreen come before moisturiser and before any makeup you put on ur face?

Does anyone know a dupe for this? It’s my all time favorite and I’ve stopped wearing makeup in the summer without it.

So pls keep in mind that this is quite literally my very first time trying on makeup and I'm fully aware that it looks like hot garbage. I tried to go for smth kinda k-beauty inspired but instead it's kinda giving "9 year old girl that raided her mom's makeup bag" lol.

I'm not joking when I say I encountered a fuckton of problems with scrambling this look together. First, I realized "moisturizing lotion" and "moisturizer" are two completely different things but just compromised with the lotion. Despite putting on primer too, my foundation ended up looking insanely cakey, and I struggled to work with my concealer bc it was actually darker than my foundation and I didn't realize it until after I bought the concealer but didn't have anything else to work with. It was also a pain in the ass trying to get the product under the grooves and curves of my nose bc it's not exactly a dainty button shape like most ppl's. I also tried covering my eyebags and acne hyperpigmentation but eventually just gave up since I don't have color corrector, and moved forward.

As for the eyeshadow (yes it's there I promise lol) I struggled with blending it correctly and realized my eyes may or may not be hooded part way through bc I could barely see any pink on the top lid, but bottom lid was easier to see. Mascara was...yeah. I poked myself in the eye maybe 3 times with the wand bc my hands were all shaky (I have a phobia abt getting anything near my eyes or just damaging them in general) so the mascara smudged over my eyeshadow and my eyelashes looked like spider legs. I just went concealer, then eyeshadow again.

Blush was kinda ok until I started blending bc jesus mary and joseph this stuff is WAAAAAAY more pigmented than I thought. Tried to blend on my cheeks, nose, and chin for a soft flushed look, but put too much and ended up looking like Santa Claus, so I put on yet another layer of concealer to lessen the red color on my face.

By the time I was at the lips, I was just kinda done. Put on some concealer, then the matte lipstick, tried to do a gradient lips effect with the red lip gloss, then realized I smeared it too far and just shrugged and put on clear gloss, then highlighter on my nose and inner eye corner and sprayed all over with setting spray.

Anyways, I came close to having a mental breakdown at multiple points, saw myself in the mirror and realized I looked like shit, wiped it all off with like 10 makeup wipes, then cried a bit. So that was fun. And I know getting better takes practice, but this kind of thing feels too fucking exhausting for me.

Sincerely, how the hell do y'all do this? I'm gonna go take some anxiety meds and lay down.

I know many of us follow the mantra of "the makeup expires when I do." So, as a caution to anyone who might have these products on their wishlist, what are some makeup items you've tried where you actually have to follow the expiration date on the package?

Mine would be the Maybelline Super Stay Vinyl Ink Liquid Lipsticks. I never loved the formula, thought it was always patchy no matter how much shaking I did, but now that I've had mine for 2 full years (shelf life is 12 months if I remember correctly) it has separated completely and is little more than a sheer lip gloss now.

I probably wouldn't purchase it again just because I have so many lip products that I don't think I could get my money's worth out of it, and I think if you're considering buying it but have a large lippie collection, you should consider if you'll use it often enough to justify the purchase.

What are some others? Probably most clean beauty, if I had to guess, and a lot of complexion products as well, but I'd like to hear everyone's experiences!

I use the Estee Lauder double wear foundation and am looking for a primer that’ll go with it so my makeup doesn’t fall apart also an SPF that’ll go with the foundation and primer. I’m desperate. Thanks in advance. 🥰

I recently tried a lash lift at home. It worked pretty well but my lashes are short and even though I used the thinnest pad, my already-short lashes curl around that pad and then lose precious length. I’m looking for a kit that has a super thin pad, similar to the look that a lash curler gives because it’s a bit more fanned out (yes I know it’s not as natural but I like that my lashes look longer this way)

Hi folks, looking for product recommendations for base makeup! I have dry, sensitive skin, prone to redness, hollows under the eyes with genetic dark circles (so I’m a big fan of colour correctors). I’m a pale olive with neutral undertones, but some rosacea that makes me look pretty pink when my face is bare. Live in a cold, dry climate with very little sun. I often use aquaphor as a primer lol :/

Looking for recs for any face products, but particularly interested in cream makeup: primers, colour correctors for both redness and sallowness, light-medium coverage foundations/concealer, tinted moisturizers, highlighters, setting sprays! All the goods :)

Also happy to receive powder recs. To give an idea, my HG face powder is MAC lightscepade as it doesn’t flatten me out, and the little threads of blue/green seem to level out my complexion. (Typically use as last step after primer, spot concealing, peach undereye concealer, blush, bronzer, setting spray).

This is my everyday look, I love a smoked out liner and the “sunburnt” blush. ☀️

i have accidentally brought a power contour that is too light to be my contour shade , but not light enough to be use as normal face powder, i tried using it as a face powder because it 1 2 shades darker i look weird, but when i use it as contour ,it dont showup well .. HELP this compact contour was expensive

Wanting to know opinions about the brands shimmer, do you love or hate them? I'm looking at rainbow freckles and debating buying twinkling fireflies tonight. I also got lip tints already and am excited to try those, but i do not have tiktok and can not find accurate photos of the two shimmers I'm interested in. Would anyone mind showing a photo comparing the two if you have them both/post the one you do have and what you think of it? Thank you!

Kat Von D dropped these amazing glittery metalic lipsticks a few years ago and theyre now discontinued... they dried down completely and were the most beautiful lipsticks I've ever used, but they just dont exist anymore...

Can someone suggest me a similar product? some sort of liquid lipstick that is EXTREMELY metalic and glittery.

I'm down to my last tube (I bought several when the went on discount). Club hopping looks similar.

I recently tried Lawless’ lip mask, and a reviewer said it was like glue. I really dislike lip oils and loved how sticky and resistant to water the Lawless lip mask is, I also like Jouer’s.

What’s the stickiest gloss? I want my lips to feel like my thumb and forefinger feel one second before the super glue is about to dry during a craft session.

I currently have 3 different no name cluster bonds and use them with the Falscara overnighter sealant but they never stay on past 2 days…which isn’t horrible but I want the 7 day hold I hear people talking about lol

I was watching a game show where asian guys are transformed into girls and they look so beautiful and feminine. Is it because they tend to be short and petite or makeup works better on their face type? Because a lot of time you cannot even tell they are guys. Was wondering if anybody had some insight into this? Do asian guys just have better genetics to pass?

So I’m 18, about to be 19 in Aug and I want to move out to Los Angeles and I want to go to this Makeup artist school and I later on want to go to the LA commit college and try to do cosmology and then get a degree for business. And I have found MUA job near me in ohio but however. I also have a job rn and I’m thinking of going and working to shifts in one day for three days and then move to California after I have 10k since their is an dorm w the school and it’s 1.2k a month .
