Do you add a certain accessory? Do you wear graphic tee with a certain logo/image? Or do you wear bright colors and patterns? Or do you dress similar to most people, but wear extra bold make-up?

Those of you who are soon to go into the cold winter months...
I am looking for a new coat this winter as each year I feel my wardrobe lacking in this part. I have so many lighter jackets but come November I end up wearing the same stuff over and over. Makes sense, winter coats are expensive, but I never seem to have the right one for the occasion.
I think my mistake has been trying to find one coat to fit every occasion - warm, waterproof, stylish. But then the "all rounder" will be not long enough, not elegant enough, and so on.
When maybe I should be focusing my attention on the specific occasions I am trying to dress for. Like 1 coat for when I am exercising or running errands. 1 more dressy one. 1 super warm one.
How many winter coats do you have? Are they all different from each other? Do you have any personal guidelines for how to shop for coats or for putting winter outfits together?

This sub has a couple of posts discussing where to find jeans for curvy figures, but none that discuss pants. So I went to a mall yesterday and tried a bunch of pants on. Below are my findings.
To be clear, I'm focusing specifically on pants (so, no jeans) with low/no stretch. Ratings indicate how well the brand's pants fit a curvy figure, nothing else.
Gap: 0/10 everything I tried gaps at the waist (pun intended).
JCrew: 0/10 same story. I tried their "slim-wide" pants hoping that could indicate a curvier fit, but no.
Talbots: 6/10 has designated curvy fit in pants, which for me, was a strict improvement over the previous 2 brands, but still not entirely correct. I'd say, if your waist is moderately smaller than your hips, this could be worth trying.
Loft: 8?/10 has designated curvy fit pants, but doesn't carry them in store. I found 1 pair of curvy petites (probably a victim of returns), and they fit my waist and hips amazingly well. Reassured by this success, I ordered some online and will update when I get them.
Uniqlo: 9/10 surprise of the year! Typically, they design everything for rectangle bodies, so I didn't expect to get very successful there, but this year, their pants are designed to fit extra super-duper baggy, so for a curvy person, it translates into fitted through waist and hips + wide legs. Specifically, I liked their chinos and cords. Their pleated line, on the other hand, I find unflattering: it billows in the front, and the leg is tapered.
If you have found pants that fit a curvy figure, please let me know.
This thread is for sharing all your new buys. Clothes, shoes, razors cologne, share it all. ...Just kidding. But just like MFA, and per your suggestions, we are now going to have a weekly recent purchases thread. So gather round and brag about your purchases! Bags, clothing, shoes, jewellery, perfume, etc.
If possible, please share a picture and a little review! Pictures can also be shared directly in the comments now.
Here you can share all the fashion related news you have come across recently. Whether it is a newly released runway, an interview with a designer, a new label slashing onto the scene or speculating new trends emerging, everything news related is welcome here.

Hi all,
I’ve been going through my journey to find my personal style, and I came to the realization that I’m always at conflict between my work and a personal wardrobe; I feel like I get too much use in my work wardrobe, and not enough in my personal one. My work wardrobe is pretty sparse (maybe ~10% of my wardrobe, ~15% if we stretch and include work appropriate casual tops) and yet I wear it every day. On the other hand, my personal wardrobe is ~90% of my wardrobe, and yet I only wear them twice a week at most, and every time I open my wardrobe I get stressed about how little I actually wear them.
I came across an old thread and saw a comment that resonated with me - the user tries to have a wardrobe of casual, but workplace-appropriate, clothes, so that you can theoretically wear the clothes for both the workplace and the wardrobe. Now of course I know there are limits - the strategy depends on how casual your workplace is, and that can change if you switch jobs. Not to mention, there is value in also having some casual, fun outfits too, especially since I really like color. Nonetheless, the idea of having a more even mix - or even a wardrobe where I feel like everything is “getting its use” - is really appealing to me. I’m also in the process of majorly updating my wardrobe + moving, so I feel like this is the perfect time for me to create a better balance. I know we don’t have to create a balance, and there is the risk that always dressing “for work” will blend work and personal too much; but I personally want to create a better balance, and I think the reduced stress whenever I look at my wardrobe will be worth it.
Some potential strategies:
How are we creating balance in our work vs casual wardrobe? What are some strategies we can take?
I just realized I've been invited to more than 10 holiday events already: corporate, social, formal, and informal! I've ordered some items online, but not really sure what's "in" this year. Gonna try on some sequined mini skirts and sheer black tops. How about you ladies? Are you planning a new outfit, or do you have an "old reliable" in the closet waiting to shine?
Can’t figure out why a certain outfit doesn’t work for you or are you just stumped on what is flattering on you? Then this is the thread for you and you can ask your questions here.
Please do refrain from talking negatively about your own body, we understand that you are likely frustrated due to various reasons (we’ve all been there) but out of respect for others and their struggles, keeping it positive helps everyone.

Do you decide based on personal preference, functionality, wardrobe, skin tone and/or hair color? Or all of the above?
I need a few new bags for traveling and I’m on the struggle bus! 🚌 Thank you.
Inspired by comment by u/b_xf on the personal shopping rules thread.
If you were to keep 2 lists on your phone to help you shop, (1) you don’t like these and (2) you have enough of these, what would be on them?
I thought this was a genius way to stop shopping regrets.
