The Diplomatic Annexation path for Austria is broken (not in a good way)

We're now basically a week into GDR. Outside of one Fascist Belgium and Germany run a piece, all I've "played" has been Habsburg Austria. I put played in quotation marks because the tree that I *want* to play does not function at all.

When playing Habsburg Austria, you can choose to Diplomatically Annex the former A-H lands (Starts with "Bring hungary back into the fold"), or subjugate and puppet them (Another focus, don't know the name, haven't played it). You get 3 70 day focuses that allow you to take decisions on all of Hungary, Czechoslovakia and Albania (for some reason), and 3 more 70 day focuses that let you take parts of Poland, Romania, and Yugoslavia. You have the option of just straight up asking to annex them, but they will likely refuse. By spending 150 PP and 25 Command Power, along with a 75 day split between 3 decisions, you can get every country to reliably say YES to your asks.

HOWEVER, Yugoslavia has a SECOND annexation decision for a further 25 Command power and 50 PP once you annex the first chunk of land, but with this decision, you have ZERO way of swaying their answer, and you have ZERO idea of how likely they are to give it to you. AND, if they say no, you cannot form AH, which means no cores on ANY of the land you annexed aside from one of the Czech republic or Hungary (theres an "/or" focus between the two regions).

I have tried just about every single combination of factors to get Yugoslavia to say yes to this decision, and it has happened all of ONE time in 20 playthroughs, my very first, on launch day. I've tried speedrunning the Yugo decision before even integrating Hungary, doing it above 25% WT, below 25% WT, doing it once I annex Albania, doing it once I do every other piece of land, doing it with a 180 division Cavalry army, doing it with a real army I trained on Limited conscription, doing it once Germany Anschlusses, doing it mid Anschluss focus, pre Anschluss focus, max relations, you name it, I've tried. Yugoslavia NEVER says yes.

I'm sick and tired of spending an hour setting up what is already a difficult (and frankly boring "be surrounded on 4 sides and wait for Barbarossa or D-Day) playthrough just to have it GUARANTEEABLY fail on the last step every time. You get stuck garrisoning land that you'll NEVER core because Germany is up your ass taking all your Extensive conscription manpower, and Romania and Italy will just invade in June 1940 anyways.

    Pradox fix pls

Is forming Italian East Africa is easy now?

You just need to open two new focuses: Ministry of Africa and Emperor of Ethiopia.

What is the point in developing Ethiopia and lowering dissent now? Or it's a bug?

    future DLCs

I think that after Graveyard of Empires there should be a DLC that reworks the USA and Japan, among other things. They are certainly interesting nations, but the focus trees are simply no longer up to date and boring.

    Japanese DLC predictions/ hope/cope!

A balance of power between fleet and army with three trees a strong army one, a strong navy one and a middle one with a bit of both. A similar thing with air with one giving naval bomber buffs one giving cas/tac buffs and a third that each side can get over fighters.

As for political I see fascism with the army in charge as well as one with the navy and then good old Hirohito. Then an unaligned empowered emperor path and potentially a hidden Empress Nagako (Hirohito’s wife) path. Then two communist path in soviet aligned focused on fighting America and Germany and the Allies and one were you support communist revolutions in South Asia and oppose Stalin. Then a democratic Japan can join the allies or make a South Pacific alliance.

French Indochina is added and they alongside the Dutch East Indies and Malaya get similar smaller trees. Siam gets a medium tree as does Australia. Maybe add in a Weststralia lead by emus as an Easter egg. Then Korea, as a very integrated puppet similar to Manchukuo, and New Zealand get simple trees.

Then a naval rework is something I’ve heard people talk about wanting (idk navy). Then a small facelift/ buff to the us so they can’t be rushed easily.

    Units can't use strategic redeployment?

As the caption says, wtf is this? I have 2500 hours and have never seen this. Every single unit I have is unable to use strategic redeployment and it's killing my run.

Anyone else think the Nuke Preparation Time is too long in Gotterdammerung?

I don't mind it to an extent but it really hurts with trying to do tactical moves, you basically have to use it strategically, especially in MP.

I think it'd be cool if they added an experiment that unlocks after getting the bomb that lets you do a tactical nuke. It's able to be used by a tactical bomber, with much less fallout and building damage, but only has like a day's worth of prep time. It'd cost just the same as a normal nuke, with the game just saying the smaller design is more complicated and price to payload more pricey. The point'd just be to be used for taking out units tactically without having to do all the prep time which'd let troops get away.

    How this happend???

All this started because a while before, Germany had accepted my request to enter the axis, and I already had a defense pact with France and Italy. When Switzerland went to attack me, Italy and France entered the axis and helped me win. Then I started a war with Hungary and then the second war began xdd

the first time that this happen to me

Gotterdammerung is the best DLC. Late game is interesting. Cold War turned hot is fun now.

I normally dread late game but now, thanks to the specialist techs and super late game techs it's actually engaging.

Unrelated, but it was Germany that kicked off WWIII. 3/3 world wars started, gg Germany! Hope the 200 million dead was worth it!

    Jet Engines

Did the new DLC remove jet engine 2, 3, and 4?
After starting a new game on road to 56, after researching the jet engine special project and completing every research in the engineering and air section, it seems that I can only max my plane jet engines at level 1. So how can I get the other jet engine levels?

    Problems playing Monarchic Austria

I'm playing with Austria with the Habsburg route, in my first game I went to do the route that allows you to turn Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Romania, Yugoslavia, etc. into puppets, I found it interesting and even more so the thing about putting a Habsburg in each country.

But my problem was when I decided to do the other route, the direct annexation, I don't know what happens but after a certain time the options to start annexing them go gray and I can't continue, it's very annoying, I don't understand what factor the game takes to not let you continue, for example in my first attempt I was able to take Hungary and Czechoslovakia, but then the options were blocked and I couldn't continue, in my other game I was able to with Hungary and Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia but then it didn't let me go for the other countries, attached image:

    https://preview.redd.it/54ea9iyu562e1.png?width=1487&format=png&auto=webp&s=c679140dfb1c74e7e40c29406cacfcc2917b7b54

As you can see there, the options are greyed out, blocked, and this is the message that appears when I move the mouse over them. :

    https://preview.redd.it/1jy9xsb3662e1.png?width=540&format=png&auto=webp&s=c3169ac322489326ee13b5dd4f86178df2464c4e

What does "No: You are working to recover your old territories" mean exactly? What is the AI doing that is not allowing me to continue and how do I avoid it? Or what is it based on? Because so far it is generally random for me, sometimes I can take one or three territories before the option is blocked.

    https://preview.redd.it/qdkoxr1l662e1.png?width=675&format=png&auto=webp&s=c360ab6e1361f7a7bde9d68cbfe97fe7af770bc0

The truth is that it is a bit annoying, I like the option of annexing them directly and not going through the tedious part of reducing the autonomy of the puppets and then integrating them, I prefer to go the other way but if it only lets me take 2 countries at most I don't see it as very profitable.

I saw the game is 14.99€ currently, but I'm saving for another game. Will the game cost 14.99€ (or similar price) on winter sale or not?

    can’t open game :(

hey guys. i’ve got 1,000+ hours in game. i play on mac and just updated my computer to Sequoia 15.1.1 and now it won’t open. i can get to the launcher screen and open it, but when it’s loading the actual game itself my computer will freeze on “precalculating naval distances.” i’ve tried deleting the naval distance files like an older post recommended and still nothing. this is my favorite game and all i want is to play the new dlc, if anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.

German Ai a historical strategy off?

I set the AI to bring back the Kaiser. And though it does, it seems what other focus it takes our random. For example one time it takes Brother in arms, and another time takes Austrian Question.

Is the AI strategy path for Kaiser Germany off? I checked the files and I know there is supposed to be a order or focuses.

Is there a super weapon project that is so good it's worth rushing in 99% of playthroughs? Which are the worst and best left untouched for whatever reason?

I'm assuming Super Heavy Battleship is the best but I'm sure Nukes are even better.

I'm pretty sure nobody uses or needs the tiny sub.

Can someone explain why Spain starts with helicopters in 1936?

If you don’t believe me, just start a game as S(pain) to see it, they got helicopters even before the civil war

I haven't played vanilla Hoi4 in a long time, why is it so hard to invade the UK now?

Like what has changed, can I not just naval bomb their ships and strat bomb docks anymore? I remember before the huge air update strat bombers in SP where the best thing ever, is strat bombing a lot worse now? I don't see why you can't just bomb their navy, ports and airports to shit and just... Invade?

How to not make tanks/planes "upgrade"?

So I am trying to make new tanks divisions and stockpile medium tanks and planes, but instead of stockpiling, they are being used to upgrade THOUSANDS of old ones. I don't want them to upgrade. Is there a way to turn this off?

Paradox Should Expand The Tech Tree to Late 1950's

With most game or national focus done goes way beyond 1945 the devs should expand the technology to near 1960. That's the only way how the game can truly be enjoyed with most of the good technology and therefore more gameplay mechanic unlocked. It's immersion breaking at an intolerable level when the technology seems to stop developing when the war is still going on.
