Our pitching is ass. We need him now. Wen.
Hey everyone! My roommates and I are planning on going to the game tonight but my roommate has only gotten his first shot (Second shot is next week). He also took a test but he hasn't gotten his results back yet. Will we still be good to go or should we not buy tickets for tonight?
I'm a Los Angeles Dodgers fan since 1988. What's up bros?
I'm posting here because the Dodgers paid video tribute to Kobe Bryant the other day as part of the Mamba Day/Week celebrations that happen around LA this time of year. They even brought living Dodger legend Vin Scully out of retirement to narrate it. I'm not a basketball fan so Kobe wouldn't usually be on my radar but because I follow the Dodgers I am thinking about him now.
Most r/dodgers fans love the Kobe tributes and talk about "winning the World Series for Kobe" this year because he died. However I view him as a despicable human being in light of his comments acknowledging that his rape accuser did not believe their "sexual encounter" in Colorado was consensual. To me that is essentially saying "I hear her saying I raped her, and I respect that, but I did not do it" which is an impossibility.
So why am I here bothering you guys? I thought you should know the following.
Upon posting a thread about my displeasure about the Dodgers' Kobe Bryant tribute for the reasons I stated above, my post was immediately deleted by r/dodgers mods. I felt like that was unfair because they weren't deleting pro-tribute comments just mine. This makes me believe they did it because my opinion bothers them, which is lame since r/dodgers is a public fan forum. When I tried to post again, my posts were again deleted without explanation and I was temporarily banned from the forum.
Next I brought these events to the much larger r/baseball sub to see what people there thought about the r/dodgers mod behavior. There I was met with ridicule for being critical of Kobe and my posts were again deleted by mods. I feel like this is pretty un-American behavior especially in a forum dedicated to our "national pastime" but oh well.
I bring it to your attention at the Circle Jerk because Kobe Bryant's legacy in Los Angeles (where they're soon to name a street after him) is interesting to me and I would like to hear more points of view about it. If this sub isn't the appropriate place to have this discussion, I hope mods will lock the thread but keep it visible so that anyone who wants to weigh in can find me on twitter. I'd also like to know what you think of the r/dodgers and r/baseball mods' behavior because it it still pretty shocking to me anyway.
Thanks for your hospitality.
