So we were walking to our ride and saw that Pluto was out and taking pictures. We wait in line to see him because our older kids were screaming for him. It’s our turn and Pluto looks at my 7 month old and waved and does the peekaboo gesture and started making little noises. I lean towards Pluto and say “hey Pluto, he can’t see but he can hear you.”
Pluto came closer and kneeled down close enough for my son to reach out and feel his whiskers and fur. My son is blind so his touch and hearing are his only sense of his surroundings. My son touched and grabbed Plutos snout and whiskers and smiled. Pluto made a few sounds for him and didn’t pull away until I pulled my son back for the pictures. This was the first time someone has gone out of their way to make my visually impaired baby feel included besides the guest relations cast member that helped us set up his stroller as a wheelchair. He can now stay in his stroller as we walk through lines.
I know Disney cast members are trained for stuff like this but I’m just used to people saying things like “I’m sorry!” When we tell them our son is blind. Even the cast member taking pictures said sorry after jokingly saying “ it looks like the little one doesn’t wanna look at Pluto!” (He looked mortified when we mentioned my sons visual impairment)
It was really special for me to see my son smiling and being included knowing that the outside world won’t be so inclusive for him.
My family thinks Im insane but Im genuinely so excited. He will be 10 months old and Ill be alone. Am I insane? We are going to stay at an in park hotel and I plan to do early entry until lunch, hang at the hotel for nap & rest until late afternoon and go back in for 2 or 3 hours.
My ride list: Peter Pan Alice in Wonderland Snow White Dumbo Flying Elephant Its a Small World Winnie the Pooh Pirates (maybe)
Anyone take a baby this young and have fun? Tips and tricks?
What’s with the creepily-whispered “pretty girls, pretty girls, pretty girls, pretty girls” line at the end of Three Caballeros? It happens at 1:05:50 on Disney+. I’ve seen this movie 100 times and always wrote it off as an oddity in-line with the surreal imagery. But I’m curious: is there any explanation as to why it was included at all? Is it a reference to some other production or book or song?
It feels semi-inappropriate, especially considering the focus of the sequence was Donald being a girl-chasing cad. Is it supposed to be the narrator who says it? Someone else? I wish I could have been a fly on the wall during the Disney meetings that originated the concept, reviewed it in countless iterations, and then finally accepted the inclusion of the line 😂 So strange!
Hi, per the PSA Video Disney released re: this proxy vote, there is a white card, a blue card and a green card. The video encourages shareholders to only use the white card.
On proxyvote - which I got access thru owning Disney shares thru Vanguard - there are seemingly 4 ballots (2 from (for?) Opposition, 2 from (for?) Management).
Am I supposed to fill them all, or are there 3 matching the 3 different cards referenced above, with an extra one?
Where could I find more information about this?
I know it primarily talks about summer vacation, but I can’t help but kinda relate to it being a senior in high school, who’s about to graduate
Im kinda conflicted about Disney reviews. I think alot of people are critiquing their show's and movies the wrong way.
It all boils down to i guess who the shows and movies are actually for. Because some people think they are for fans of the original works and i can see where they are coming from but my gripe about this is this if it's for the original fans then why does it have a rating of like TV14? It would stand to reason then that the show's and movie's would be for teenagers then due to the ratings. I think it's unfair then to criticize them in the same way you would criticize something like Dune for example. I mean it's the same way with books and other media, you wouldn't critique a YA or teen book the same as you would a book meant for adults.
Are these Baby Plushes available in the US? I am currently living in Korea and have seen them at Disney Stores here, but I could not find them on the US Disney store website.
Anyone seen Condorman?, I had a lot of fun with this film and it is very underrated. Is it one of the best Disney films no but still it delivers and I really bought and liked the chemistry between Woody and Natalia.
Hello everyone, I have this sweatshirt but I can't seem to find another sweatshirt like this. Does anyone have seen or owned a similar sweatshirt like this? Thanks (:
I’m 30 but I’d still play it 😅
Does anyone know what year the steamboat willie mickey figure was released? It's a bobblehead. I can't find anything about a release year online
Does anyone recognize this carpet? It’s thought to be from a Disney resort
My mother has had this book for years, and she recently asked me to find out any information about it.
As the title says, it's a first edition, but what makes it unique, is it has two original sketches from Disney animator Bob Vogel. I'm not sure of the backstory or how he came to do the drawings, but he was an animator for Disney who worked on the original Pinocchio movie.
Any help would be appreciated.
Somebody here had a ID thread last year, but locked.
I had the same merch as a kid, it's a licensed 1980 European poster and puzzle! My family's Italian and Croatian, I've only seen other similar families own it.
For me, I love the sisu necklace from Raya and the Last Dragon. Would love to wear it in real life.
Hello! I’m trying to find a movie that I watched when I was about 4.. the only scene I can remember is a train trying to go uphill but it gets tired. There’s a song that goes along with it but I can’t find it!!! 🥲
I just finished watching this film and I really liked it, it’s very dark for a Disney film it kind of falls in the same atmosphere as Something Wicked This Way Comes for me. I thought the characters were likable especially Lynn-Holly Johnson as our main character Jan. Did you all enjoy the film if you saw it?
I remember there being a contest back in 2013 where you counted how many times they said surfboard in the movie, then entered it into a site to win an autographed surfboard. Was that an actual thing done by Disney? Did anyone actually win one? Just curious.
