Biodynamic calendar

Has anyone found a good biodynamic calendar? I’m new into bio dynamics and would find it incredibly helpful to have such a tool.

Germination question for feb full moon timing

Would it be better to germinate before the full moon (three days), or 5 days before full moon but on the a Rooting constellation of Taurus (ascending i think northern perspective) or a day after full moon with a virgo moon (descending northern pers)…. BTW- I’m just south of EQUATOR.

My understanding is that the moon constellations are less impactful than full moon phase. For example- germination 3 days before full moon recommended, but also in a descending moon constellation (https://pevgrow.com/blog/en/do-you-have-in-mind-the-moon-to-grow-marijuana/).

Now, when I read any site, they mention south or equator as a reversal of asc/des.

Biodynamic peppering as humane pest deterrent

Hi all, I’m looking into biodynamic peppering but it’s difficult (almost impossible) to find resources online for the correct dates to prepare and apply the ash/sand. Does anyone have experience with this or could perhaps point me in the right direction? Thank you!

Has anyone tried this Biodynamic wine producer?

Here in this video Biodynamic & Natural wine producers Alex & Maria Koppitsch discuss how their blends focus on soil type rather than grape varietal (their most popular wine Homok means sand, in Hungarian) and how difficult it was for them in the beginning to even find buyers of their wine... they almost gave up

Has anyone tried these wines? Be interested to hear your opinions below

The grapevine's associated element and sign?

This question is a little abstract but I feel like this is the right place to ask. I'm working on a project and wanted to know where I could find the grapevine's associated zodiac sign (if that's a thing) and which of the four elements the grapevine is associated with (mainly).

I came up with the grapevine being primarily associated with elemental air (also associated with light in biodynamics) because it reaches upwards ,constantly striving for the sun's light (i.e. soul), and will use any structure to get itself in direct reception of the sun's light.

I've also found online that the best time to plant (by seed) is in an air sign (flower), especially Libra, but if it could be done in a fire sign (any) that would promote the best fruit.

Anyone have resources or books that might point me in the right direction or expand on this association?

Richard Thornton Smith

Could someone please point me to the differences between these two books by Richard Thornton Smith?:

The books are:

  1. Rudolf Steiner Agriculture
  2. Cosmos,Earth and Nutrition

For what I have seen both books basically touch upon the same topics 🤷🏻

Book recommendation

Hi. I would like to begin biodynamic farming. Which books do you suggest? I am interested in both the practical and esoteric side of it and knowing myself I can say that the best for me would be a book that teaches simultaneously those two.

[Need feedback on a project about french biodynamic wine]

Hello everyone,

My name is Jean-Baptiste from Domaine Achillée (Alsace). I am looking for critical feedback on the project we are launching.

We have contacted independent winemakers across France. The domains are all biodynamic but we are not close to opening the project to organic domains. They each create a special cuvée that they have never made before. The cuvée is vinified in barrels or in amphora by the winegrower according to his own methods and sold in primeur to individuals. We want to highlight forgotten grape varieties, vinification techniques inspired by ancient practices, parcel-based vinification, etc.

The vintages can be bought by the whole piece (150L to 500L). For certain vintages, we also offer the sale of batches of bottles (with a minimum quantity).

The objective is to highlight these creative winemakers, to share their stories, to encourage creativity and to inform the public about environmentally friendly and biodiversity-friendly winemaking methods.

I need all of your criticism (even the strongest) to help us bring this project to life.

Thank you very much!

Vacuum sealing seeds?

I'm just looking for strong opinions on the practice of vacuum sealing seeds for long-term storage, and figured some of you might have them.

Do any of you who practice biodynamic agriculture vacuum seal your seeds? Do you use oxygen absorbers or dessicants? Or do you consider these practices destructive?

Thanks for all opinions!

Do you have experience with the Demeter Certification?

What are the main practices you ought to implement in your farm to get the Demeter certification and how do they differ from organic practices / certification?
