Does anybody have any ways of watching the Celts without expensive cable packages? I just cancelled YouTube tv cause they went up in price again. I wish I could just get nba league pass but the games are blacked out. Any recommendations appreciated
We win these next three games I think we’re still the team to beat out of the league and definitely out of the East regardless of the record.
Hope we really show up vs the Cavs and Knicks and in this match up vs the Mavs where I hope AD plays.
We win these next three games, I feel good about our team going into the all star break and happy for White, Jrue, KP to get some extended rest.
Going into the trade deadline, the only way we can acquire a player is via a 1 for 1 trade where that salaries match or we are taking back less salary… but either way it has to be a 1 for 1.
Can picks be included in that or no?
Also, since we are above the 2nd apron, we can’t sign any buyout players?
Can we sign minimum vet guys?
A lot of people have weighed in on this, I realize. I just want to drop this here:
If you think this is fishy, that's because it almost certainly is. Stop trying to ascribe rationality to this, eg. "The Mavericks' owners didn't want to pay Luka" or some other nonsense. Sometimes the simplest explanation is the likeliest. This is likely one of those times.
The NBA has a massive amount of money at stake from the Lakers being successful and marketable in the coming years. The simplest explanation to the Mavs' complete front office malpractice is that someone was provided incentives for this to happen.
We live in a media landscape where entertainment, sports, and journalism are inextricably entangled. There is no way a media outlet whose existence relies on access to the leagues and personalities it covers to get to the bottom of what happened here. It is more likely that NPR ultimately provides a successful explanation than ESPN.
Sorry, but there is just no way NBA fans can accept the narratives currently in circulation. The Mavs called exactly one team, which happens to be the most lucrative team in the league, and offered arguably the best young player in the league for cents on the dollar, more than a year before he hits free agency. "What a terrible GM" is not a believable explanation, nor the Mavs owners' cheapness, or anything else being floated.
NBA fans don't have to accept this nonsense. And that especially goes for Celtics fans.
Taking out the emotional aspect of the Luka trade AND the fact that Pelinka jedi mind tricked Harrison into not getting anything REMOTELY resembling fair compensation back...
...I don't understood or agree with how NBA players are ranked or talked about in today's game. Specifically how on nearly any list you read (See: Simmons trade rankings, ESPN Rankings last year) both Luka and SGA are ahead of Tatum.
I 100% have Celtic bias here, but in what world would you want those two over someone like Tatum? Does defense not matter? It sure does in the playoffs! Tatum can guard 1-5 at +level, while SGA and Luka will be hunted. Tatum's offensive numbers aren't as gaudy as those two, but they're not that far off, but his defensive versatility is. I just don't get it.
When you lose the NBA Finals it should motivate you more to get in good shape and add to your game, not show up in worse shape. JB won FMVP last year and he looks like goddamned Rambo this year. He's earned and deserves that Super Max, and I think that's what we're seeing here, and we will see more of (see: Fox).
Philly gave Joel his contract because they felt like they were "supposed" to, but how's that gonna work out? All the flags were there. Luka's not Joel, and his story is still very much being written, but there's certainly some flags.
At the end these lists don't matter and the two right guys signed the Max with the C's.
JB & JT take it all very seriously, maybe if Luka did as well he'd still be a Mav.
I know it be jokes but I’m honestly starting to believe he really could’ve went the serial killer route if he didn’t find this sport. Either way love bro. Funny ash too.
Look I’m as big a Tatum fan as anyone, he’s been my favorite player since his rookie year but I mean for Luka?
Obviously there’s cons of defense liability and having no starting PF, but it’s Luka freaking Doncic, guy puts up 30-10-10 in his sleep, put up 73 a year ago and carried a lesser Mavs team to the finals where his presence alone had people picking them over us (stupidly).
I’m gonna say I’d rather have Tatum, but it’s an interesting hypothetical
EDIT: Other things to consider:
Luka would be cheaper than Tatum since he can’t get supermax
This would keep him off the Lakers
So, our besties in L.A just got themselves a generational offensive machine in one of the dumbest office decisions in sports history. This pretty much garantees them a decade of competitive teams.
Its´s funny to think about those moments that had major implications for a franchise(s), seen that the Mavs fans might start rioting so bad that they end up moving the team to Vegas lol
Then, there's us. There's the Bill Russell 'trade'. It affected our team, the St Louis Hawks, Wilt Chamberlain, the Lakers and many more teams/players legacies. Do the Celtics manage to win multiple titles without Bill? Does Wilt get many more Finals appereances just to lose to the Petit/Russell Hawks (western team at the time)? Do the Lakers manage to be even more insuferable with the possibility of more titles in the 60s? How does this moment affetics the 'racial biases' at he time, knowing that Bill would play down south?
Apart from the 'coin toss for Magic', Draft Lottery/Picks and other obvious what-Ifs, wich other moments had great ramifications for the NBA?
Thinking about how Sacramento is going into a full rebuild. And the fact that Horford and Holiday are at the ends of their career.
Is there a package we can put together to get Sabonis? I know it’s super hard being that we are a second apron team. But we have some big salaries.
He leads the league in rebounding and is only 28 years old. Sabonis‘s versatility and playmaking would be phenomenal. His passing in particular means that we could lose Holiday or White and still function. Does not offer much rim protection though, which is a potentially huge problem.
Thoughts?
Edit: I almost forgot that being second apron means we cannot combine player salaries together to match in a trade. So we have to trade someone that makes exactly what Sabonis makes, which is 46M this year.
After seeing this Luka Doncic trade it really got me thinking:
Obviously Tatum and Brown have their flaws in their game. They’re human and every player has their flaws. But you cannot question Tatum and Brown’s talent (obvious one), drive, leadership, character, and conditioning. You don’t see either of them in conversations with other NBA stars who have problems with their own organizations.
Embiid and Kawhi are notorious for missing games and being unavailable. Ja Morant has served two suspensions with his history of off-court issues. Jimmy Butler is about to find himself on his fifth NBA team with a history of questionable antics. Kyrie has found himself on 4 NBA teams due to his impulsive escapades. Zion Williamson has conditioning issues and has a questionable drive. The Mavericks are getting Anthony Davis, who when healthy is a beast but again, when healthy, and their fans are acting like they’re getting Hassan Whiteside in the deal because of AD’s injury history.
And now, there’s Luka Doncic. According to multiple reports the Mavs front office was hesitant on giving him the Supermax because of his conditioning issues. Even if that isn’t necessarily the main case, Luka has a history of it.
At the end of the day, we haven’t had to worry about these kinds of problems with Tatum and Brown. I’d rather have the problem of being down 26 to the Sixers and squeezing out a win versus dealing with the issues that these other NBA teams face with their stars. They’re not the types of guys getting in trouble or in the topics of controversy that doesn’t involve their game. As long as the two of them are here, we will be in title contention for many years to come.
Shoutout to the Jays and the team, I was hating for a moment ngl
Can anyone point me in the direction to find a larger sized version of the logo of Lucky that ESPN uses for their broadcasts? Image at the link below, thank you guys for any help you can provide!

The Celtics were playing around too much early in the game and were being too lazy. There was no reason they should have been struggling that much, but they turned it around and locked in to secure the win. Jayson Tatum had a huge performance and continues to demand his respect in the league. It was a great day for Celtics fans! Gotta love a comeback victory!

Anyone know anything about the rumor that the Cs are looking at sending X man Tillman and a couple of 2nds to Philly for Yabusele. Works for me, hope it works for Philly.
Personally, I’m thinking Guerschon Yabusele and a 2031 second round pick. Though I’m unsure if I’m being too unrealistic or not. Lmk what you all think!
This is hypothetical but the 4th quarter lineup had great spacing, chemistry was 100% and they looked like they were on a string
