Internship

Hi,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Aryan ingale and I’m a student passionate about digital marketing, particularly Google Ads. I aspire to run my own digital marketing agency one day and would love to gain hands-on experience under your guidance.

I’m eager to learn and contribute to real-world campaigns, even in a part-time or unpaid capacity. If you have any openings or know someone looking for a dedicated intern, I’d be grateful for the opportunity to discuss how I can add value to your team.

Thank you for considering my request, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards, Aryan ingale

Marketing a Product

So I’m looking to take a stab at this new product that I’ve just enlisted.

What’s strategies would you deploy for a new brand that is in the t shirt / apparel industry? I know it’s a saturated product market. How should I start? Any ideas to stand out?

How can younger college graduates break into the marketing industry?!

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for advice (and maybe a bit of reassurance). I graduated in 2022 with a degree in fashion merchandising and a concentration in promotions. Since then, I’ve been trying to break into marketing OR public relations, but the journey has been… discouraging. Despite months of searching, I can’t seem to find any entry-level marketing roles in New England that align with my background or goals.

Here’s a quick overview of my experience: • Internships: I completed a PR internship in Ireland during college, along with other communications-focused internships. • Copywriting Portfolio: I have a solid portfolio of published articles and professional content, but I’ve struggled to create a PR-specific portfolio due to limited opportunities. The past two years of my post graduation life involved contracted copywriting gigs. • Networking Challenges: My late uncle, who worked in PR, was my biggest inspiration. Unfortunately, his passing last year left me without a personal connection or network in the industry.

I’ve been proactive: • Applying to any remotely relevant positions. • Using AI tools to streamline and optimize my job search. • Cold messaging professionals on LinkedIn for advice or mentorship.

But so far, nothing has materialized.

Is this just the nature of communications? Are entry-level positions really this hard to come by without connections or years of experience?

I’m open to any insights, especially on these points: 1. Should I focus on building my own portfolio? If so, what kinds of projects or case studies would be most beneficial? Like right now it's my strongest published media articles. But Im not sure how many pieces it should have or if it needs more advertising materials and PR focused content... that's just difficult to achieve because I don't have the work experience to accumulate these things, yet. 2. Are there strategies or resources I might not be aware of for finding entry-level marketing roles? 3. How can someone without a network start making meaningful connections in the industry?

I’m particularly passionate about copywriting/PR, but the road ahead feels increasingly unclear. If anyone has advice, similar experiences, or even just validation that this is a common challenge, I’d be so grateful.

Thank you in advance!

Breaking into digital marketing…

I’m a 26-year-old woman, soon to be 27, and I’ve recently developed an interest in digital marketing and e-commerce. Until now, I’ve been working in the fast food industry—a completely different field—but I’ve discovered that this is what I want to pursue.

I’ve already enrolled in a course and started researching to expand my knowledge about this growing industry. However, I don’t know anyone in this field. I’m looking to connect with others who are also starting out or have experience in digital marketing and e-commerce. I’d love to find a mentor or simply build relationships with like-minded individuals to exchange insights and learn more. How and where can I find an online and offline community or a group of people that I can connect with? (Other than this platform)

Could I have 5 minutes of your time?

Hello everyone,

I’m not even sure how to structure this post, and I apologize if it’s a little long but there’s just so much I want to ask and learn from all of you here.

To start, I am an absolute beginner in this field. After spending some time reading through posts, I can confidently say I’m probably the dumbest of all the members here but I guess that just means there’s nowhere to go but up!

Recently, I’ve developed an interest in digital marketing and to be honest, business as a whole which is a far stray from what I studied (Football Coaching and Analysis). However, I have zero experience in this field and no idea where to start when it comes to building my knowledge and gaining hands on experience. So, I thought the best thing to do would be to ask all of you for guidance.

Here are a few questions I’d love your input on:

  1. What roadmap would you recommend for someone just starting out?

  2. What resources did you use or would you suggest for a beginner?

  3. Who are some good people to follow in this space for learning and inspiration?

  4. What communities or forums should I join to connect with others?

  5. What’s the best way to get practical, hands on experience?

I know these are generic questions, but above all, I’m looking for a mentor. Someone I can bug the life out of with my questions. I understand how time consuming this will be, but I’m fully dedicated and genuinely excited about challenging myself to learn. For me, that’s the real fun.

Finally, I just want to say thank you for taking the time to read this and for any advice or pointers you can share. Your help means more to me than you can imagine.

Seeking Marketing Advice for AI-Powered Test Case Generation Tool – Any Tips or Similar Case Studies?

Hey everyone,
We’re a startup building a tool that automatically generates test cases from product requirements using an editable mind map. Unlike tools like ChatGPT, we focus on providing better test coverage and quality, plus the mind map helps QAs structure and refine the test cases directly—something we think is a big advantage.

Our target users are QA engineers, software testers, and startups, but here’s the catch: our team comes from an AI research background, not marketing. So we’re kind of lost when it comes to crafting a solid go-to-market strategy.

Has anyone here gone through something similar? What should we consider when designing our marketing approach, or are there any products with a similar concept that we can learn from? Any advice or pointers would be really appreciated!

I need help with marketing video ideas

Hello everyone,

I'm reaching out for your assistance. I recently launched my product and I'm in need of ideas for marketing videos.

My product is a customizable cigarette box where users can upload their own images or choose from pre-designed ones. Currently, I am collaborating with an Instagram account that focuses on girls and their cars, which has around 30k followers.

Our partnership involves posting stories every two days and a post each week.

I'm primarily looking for suggestions on what types of videos I should create that showcase my product in a natural and appealing way. Here are some specific areas where I could use your help:

  1. Video Concepts: What types of video themes or concepts do you think would resonate best with my target audience? Any creative ideas for content that feels authentic and engaging?

  2. Editing Tips: If anyone has experience with video editing, what tools or techniques do you recommend to make my videos more visually appealing?

  3. Engagement Strategies: How can I boost engagement on my posts? Any ideas for interactive content, such as polls or challenges, that could involve my audience?

  4. Distribution Tips: Besides Instagram, are there other platforms you think I should consider for sharing my videos? How can I effectively cross-promote my content?

  5. Feedback Mechanisms: What’s the best way to gather feedback from viewers to improve my future videos? Any suggestions for surveys or direct engagement?

Additionally, I'm open to any other advice or suggestions you may have!

Thank you so much for your help!

Why Does Online Advertising Still Feel So Complicated and Inefficient?

Hey everyone,

Is it just me, or is online advertising way more complicated than it needs to be? Google Ads, for example, is supposed to make everything simple, but using it often feels like jumping through endless hoops. As a website owner, trying to monetize ad spaces is such a pain—you don’t get much control over what ads show up, and the approval process can be super frustrating.

And for advertisers? It’s just as bad. Managing campaigns is confusing, tracking performance is a hassle, and sometimes it feels like you’re just throwing money into a black hole and hoping for the best.

What if things could be different?

Like, imagine a system where:

  • Website owners could easily set up ad spaces, pick the types of ads they’re comfortable hosting, and actually feel in control.
  • Advertisers could browse available spaces, pick exactly where their ads go, and get clear insights on performance—without needing a marketing degree.
  • Approvals and payments were simple, fast, and transparent. No hidden fees, no endless back-and-forth.

It could be a platform built on trust and ease, not just trying to squeeze as much money out of you as possible.

I feel like there’s a huge gap here, but maybe I’m missing something. What’s been your experience with current advertising platforms? What would a better system look like for you?

Would love to hear your thoughts!

Ask Me Anything About Digital Marketing

When I started my digital marketing career over 8 years ago I though my managers at my corporate jobs would teach me everything I'd need to know to become an amazing digital marketer. But, job after job, I never found a talented manager to teach me. Instead I had to learn by trial-and-error within actual Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and Google Ads accounts.

If anyone is in need of advice, I'm glad to provide guidance within the areas of paid ads and SEO.

TikTok - Audience is too narrow

Hi everyone! I'm trying to promote my app on TikTok. I chose female from 18-34 from UK with iOS devices and Cooking & Recipes interest. It says that the audience is too narrow from 1000-3000. I don't think this is possible, do anyone have an idea why is this happening?

What strategy/tools to implement for. Clothing brand

Hey guys! I started my brand earlier this year and it was more so to test the market - we’d created a small following on Instagram but had alot of in person interaction and inquiries and website visits.

But we were unable to complete a single sale

I relaunched again today, on Black Friday, hopefully we could get some sales.

But I was looking for tips for marketing (lol I am a business student but unfortunately I’m more an accounting/finance girly)

My business is selling streetwear clothing (an oversatured field ik) but our niche is car clothing and accessories. I saw a gap (that I personally experience and asked others if they did too). I am having ppl tell me it’s nice to finally have a clothing brand selling what we sell, but I just can’t make the sale.

rogueatnight.com is our website plz review it if needed

(Also I’m just a 3rd student who had a passion and has had business before, I did conduct a target market search, competitor analysis, all the things I have learned.)

Need help in cold calling internationaly

Hi everyone, I’m running a social media marketing agency and currently doing cold outreach to find clients. However, I’m facing a challenge: I’m working internationally, targeting clients in the UK, USA, and Canada, but I’m not physically there.

What’s the most cost-effective software or solution for making international cold calls? I’m just starting out, so affordability is key.

Any advice, recommendations, or tips would mean a lot!

"Outside the Box" ...Beyond Buzz Words

I have been studying marketing as it applies to my current company and for chances to move forward.

There are traditional approaches that get predictable results.

I am trying to understand and "unlock" the techniques of the big players who do big impact marketing that aren't traditional and get massive results.

Rikki Travolta is "America's Leading Image Expert". Statistics, media, etc back it up. The question is how dud he do it. Everything he did was unconventional.

He made Empire Today the #1 flooring company in the US after David Elenowitz recruited him from Other World Computing. Profits went from $40 million a year to $700 million a year.

He had done the same thing for Other World Computing. Larry O'Connor always said that Rikki saved his company from barely getting by in a cornified to $100 million tech leader.

Rikki Travolta isn't alone. He is not.the only person in the country who does "outside the box" approaches that result in hundreds of millions in profits. It's just the easiest example.

What I am trying to "unlock" is what makes the geniuses geniuses. How do people like that do it?

There seems to be this mix of approaches - traditional, alternative, unconventional, and even unheard of (or "new"?).

I would much rather learn to do that if I could figure it out. Traditional is fine but given my choice I would rather be making that kind of money too.

Has anyone else been able to figure out how elite players in marketing come up with things that accomplished what we all thought was impossible?

What Features Make a Lead Gen Tool Worth Buying?

I'm researching SaaS tools for lead generation and wanted to get the community's insights. If you've used lead gen tools before, what features made them stand out?

Some examples I'm thinking about include:

Customization for niche audiences

Notifications for hot leads

AI-generated suggestions for engagement

What features would convince you to pay for a lead gen tool? Are there any pain points you've faced that existing tools don’t solve?

What do I make of programmatic advertising?

So, I recently came across the term "programmatic advertising" and realised I have no clue what it really means. From what I gather, it’s about automating ad buying, but what makes it different from regular digital ads? Is it only the big brands who stand a chance?

Also, it got me thinking—do these ads always have to be static, or is there a way to make them more interactive? For example, could they include elements like clickable sections, forms, or something users can actually engage with?

Most of the ads I’ve seen just feel like static banners or videos, and I’m curious if there’s more to it.

If anyone works in this space or knows more, I’d love to hear your thoughts! How does programmatic advertising work, and are there any examples of it being used creatively?

I made a "startup" in under 2 weeks; how should I market it?

I've been working on a little startup called, "Assignly". If you couldn't tell by the name, it's essentially a little webapp I made for teachers. Yes, I know, it's a niche market, but I still feel it could go somewhere (shooting for $10k MRR). The only issue I have is I'm not really sure how to market it.

I'm currently waiting for a little promo video to get created so I can launch it on Product Hunt, but them what? The majority of Product Hunt's userbase is just other entrepreneurs/developers, not teachers. The only way this could possibly help my launch is by either giving some backlinks and street credit or just allowing it to be shared to people who are teachers.

If you want to see my website, just search 'assignly' and it's the one that ends with '.app'. (Auto mods won't let me put links for some reason) 🥲

Any recommendations would help, thanks!

Help positioning a services business with lots of revenue streams

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for some advice on how to position a services company with a diverse range of offerings. I work for a company that’s a Google Cloud Partner, and our business is split into two main wings:

  1. Google Workspace
  2. Data & Analytics on Google Cloud

Across both wings, we generate revenue through three main streams:

  • Reselling Tools: We add value through resale, offering support to our customers.
  • Managed Services: This is a monthly fee-based model to keep things running smoothly. For Google

Workspace, it’s like being an outsourced IT team but with a focus on adding value (e.g., end-user support, configuring features). For Data & Analytics, it’s about ensuring the stack operates optimally.

  • One-Off Projects: These are specific engagements, like migrating a company to Google Workspace or helping them move to BigQuery.

While it’s clear to us what we offer, I’m finding it really challenging to position this from a marketing perspective. We’re not just one thing, and it feels like our messaging ends up being too generic or confusing for potential customers.

Have you dealt with something similar? How do you create a marketing narrative that ties together multiple wings and revenue streams without overwhelming or confusing your audience?

I’d love to hear how others have approached this kind of challenge—especially if you’ve found a framework or strategy that works. Our competitors either go super generic; it's clear that marketing isn't working too well for them from an SEO/organic perspective - a lot of revenue gets generated through targeted sales efforts, or they hyperspecialise into an industry, like Manufacturing, or Insurance.

Advice would be appreciated.

Transitioning From a Film Career to Advertising

Hello!

I am a post production coordinator in film and TV based in NYC and I am considering switching my career to advertising. My current role is simplest described as creative project management with media expertise. Advertising seems to be a good fit for my interests, skills and experience so I'm gathering as much info as I can before I dive into the job search.

Is there anyone out there who has made the same transition and would share their experience? What was your role in film vs now? What are the biggest pros/cons?

Thanks in advance!
