I could be making friends another way, but I just got here and there doesnt seem anyone outside all that much. just got told that the commissary and exchange is where most of the socializing will happen. anyhow, i’d like to make friends
Friend is in DEP and wants to shot for a job that will give him the best chances of being stationed at Travis, or any if the California Bases.
So what jobs are most common or open at this base?
I have received orders to Travis AFB and I have heard great things about Vacaville. I just wanted to inquire about how bicycle friendly the area is.

My name is Kat Cary, and I am medically retired from the US Navy (2001-2013). I am currently a graduate student studying under the Post-911 GI Bill at the University of Edinburgh, and I am studying the Psychology of Individual Differences.
I have a request for all of my fellow service members: I am looking for participants to take part in an anonymous online study that explores the effects of personality, intelligence, gender, and career in the US Military.

Just seeing nothing posted since 5 months ago, found this accidentally. PCSing here possibly in July!
Many Travis Airmen witnessed, heard about, and responded to the aircraft accident today. As always, leadership, base counselors and Chaplain staff remain ready to speak with anyone who would like to talk. During this time of recovery remember to look out for your wingman, and keep everyone who witnessed the accident in your thoughts. The base Chaplain can be reached anytime before 8 p.m. at 424-3217. Any after hour calls should go to the command post at 424-5517.
