Hello everyone I’m currently a reservist in Air Force, studying CS , and have about 2 academic semesters left. I’m just wondering about the conditional release part of the application. If I’m chosen for the program does this mean I’ll become an active duty software developer in the space force or what? Any info will help because I’m not sure what I’m getting myself into entirely thanks!
My in laws are camping at Buckley SFB and the commander just closed base to non-essential personnel due to inclimate weather. My child was born a few days ago and is in the hospital due to a complex pregnancy and they would like to come see him. Are they able to leave base even though it is closed and more importantly, will they be able to return or will they be turned away at the gate? I wasn’t able to find anything on the policy for people camping, online.
(edit) I've got one individual who's really deserving and I'm hoping they find out prior to the Thanksgiving holiday.
(Update) SR rater release is the 19th
Reposting. I originally used the flyer Vitalant provided us with. But to ensure there is no confusion, YoNCO is teaming up with Vitalant to host a blood drive. I cannot think of a better way to improve our readiness as a force than by donating blood. If the giveaway listed on the other flyer intrigued you, please visit Vitalant’s website. But please know, the USSF, SpOC, nor YoNCO are partnered in that side initiative. 💙🚀
I’m leaning heavily on this location for the GAT, but don’t know much about it. I’m an E6 in 5S and a ‘23 AF IST so still pretty new. I always wanted to go while in the AF but the opportunity never arose. Can anyone tell me about it?
Hi all, going to be starting a job as a civilian in the USSF pretty soon, and am having difficulty understanding any benefits regarding student loans. I've seen on one website that with a service agreement they will pay 10k/yr up to 60k, can anyone attest to that? If not, any other input regarding said benefits? Thanks
Why did they fuck up the Space Force portal? Mine was perfectly customized. Now it’s crappy like the Air Force.
Put. It. Back.
It deleted everything I put into it… it has everything wrong. So much disappointment.
Good evening,
It is with a heavy heart that we announce Eugue, the former USSF Mascot, has been convicted of treason due to selling the last tornadoes from the shoppette to China.
This crime is unforgivable. Despicable. I was really looking forward to that southwest chicken tornado. While building the culture of the USSF we need to hold ourselves to a higher standard than this.
Elections for the new mascot will open soon, if you have nominations (that aren't Eugene, we don't like Eugene), comment them below.
V/R,
EGF
(p.s. if you see Eugene in Leavenworth, tell the guards you saw him smuggle in some ciggies)
This Monday your newly elected mascot Eugene wanted to share a message regarding Courage (one of the 4 C's)!
Don't be afraid to soar high and accomplish! Eugene loves you!
What messages do you have for Eugene? Share them below!
Hey, I really need to know if food stamps will affect my clearance trying to put on more or trying to maintain my weight so I can keep my job ofc. Will food stamps have a bad affect on my career?

Good Morning Space Heroes,
Due to high demand, a patch design has been created for the new USSF mascot. Please see attached image.
Let us know by COB if you intend to order so we can plan inventory accordingly.

EGF
PSA we have an app put together in the playstore. We have a pretty dedicated team who works on this so I wanted to show some love.

Hi I have a suggestion for the mascot of USSF. Meet Eugene!
He loves his family, contry, his dog Rex, and playing basketball.
Drop your suggestions for the mascot below, and the winner will become the official mascot! (I hope you vote for Eugene 🙂↕️)
Good Morning Space Force!
Over the past 2 years, I posted about 1B4X1 (Cyber Warfare) availability in Vermont Air National Guard. Since then, we've added many new members (101 leads, with 20 joining from that post). Our new manning requirement was updated in April 2024, and we’re now looking for 10 more operators.
Requirements include a minimum score of 70 on the EDPT (please wait to reach out if you haven’t passed) and an ASVAB within the last 24 months. Initial Skills Training is 182 days, and IQT is currently 100 days (potentially increasing to 120-160 days). The 229th COS will provide training to prepare you for tech school and beyond. We only drill once a quarter, we pay for FLIGHTS & HOTEL. Currently we have changed our schedule to include virtual drills. [Air National Guard]
**WE PAY FOR FLIGHTS & HOTELS FOR DRILL! **!

Title.
Interesting idea. How is it? Are they actually creating depth in any area? How's the feedback mechanism? Students enjoying it? Is it manned with the right instructors? Etc.
It's obviously a big change and I'm curious if people think it's meeting the intent.
I saw that there's a MSgt 5C position at Thule... but in the advert it said it's 1 of 1 military position. I was thinking of applying but I'm a hardcore introvert and awkward as hell, yall think it'd be a mistake to apply? I usually have a hard time making friends outside of the people I work with but it looks like a once in a lifetime opportunity.
I'm like the classic IT nerd and I don't drink/smoke and my hobbies are legit just video games. But I would like to serve overseas at least once my career and I heard people that volunteer for Thule isn't common and the likelihood of getting picked up is good.
Spent my entire career in Hawaii or other OCONUS locations. Are places other than Cali or Colorado realistic?
Its time for me to move and I'm considering Clear. I know I'm insane for even thinking about it so I need a reality check. I asked around and what I got were guarded answers. That Alaska in general had weirdos there, that's its primarily Guard, that you can get oil money, things like that. So I have a few questions:
What is the current atmosphere like at the squadron level and at the operator level?
What is the level of racism at Alaska/ Clear for black and brown folks? Just give it to me straight.
What's life like for an operator? Average day in the life from waking up to going to bed? Life om shift and off shift? Are crews tight knit or disperse to their own activities after work?
Best and worst thing about Clear?
If you could do things differently what would it be?
If you could go back would you go to Clear or Thule?
please be honest!

Anyone else stuck on their ops floor for the whole 12 hours and told to eat at your desk?
Is there an DAFI/SFI for this?
“You’re in the military”. Trust me I know, I’m reminded every shift as my back office folk go to lunch and leave after 6 hours Mon-Fri.
Morale is high as you can tell 🤗
