Now the inaugural Supercars weekend in Taupo is over, what did everyone think? Did you enjoy it? Did you attend? If you did what did you like/dislike?
All the drivers genuinely seemed to speak very highly of the place and their greatfulness to be racing in NZ again.
I just hope they can add one more so we have two NZ rounds.
I was thinking recently, I wonder how long until we see a driver who is openly part of the LGBT community. To be honest I'm surprised we haven't seen any yet. There is always the chance someone has been, but remained "closeted" because of the toxicity of the Supercars fans, especially on Facebook. But I am genuinely surprised that we haven't had any publicly, openly gay drivers.
I think there were talks that Chelsea Angelo was, but she never made it to Supercars.
I'm running a test to see who the most talented and versatile motorsports driver of all times is. I've compiled a schedule of tracks and races from motorsports all over the world. Comment the top 5 drivers that you think would perform the highest. Every race is ran with it's traditional car. The point system is F1 points.

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to your input! FYI I'm posting this in a few subs, please don't comment on multiple. Also, rank your top 5 in order of how you think they'll do. I'll compile the results in about a week!
Why weren’t triple 8 penalised for a wheel over the fast lane line in the pits, I thought that if that’s the case the driver got a penalty, or do they just get a fine? It was clear as day so dunno how there wasn’t some mention of it?
No official discussion thread, so here is the sparking conversation meeting place.

Just want to chuck my thoughts out there about how awesome Taupo has been at embracing Supercars this week. It makes me so proud to call Taupo my home town.
I’m not there but I’ve heard the vibe in town is epic. So much so that my Mum, who has zero interest in car racing, wants to go to the track with Dad this weekend to “have a bit of a look”.
To everyone that’s going this weekend, have an epic time, I’m envious of you all but I can rest assured that I’m going next year.
Shows what the track meant to a lot of people. Some of my best memories racing there with my old man. https://youtu.be/qQD6mYRJG8o?si=mV8P8jSrd5wckirU

Sir, this is Wendy's.
I'm sure he's exaggerating a little. But come on the track was 90% redesigned in 2006. Only a couple of spots including the back hairpin are from the old track. And it's been resurfaced a number of times. It was a great track for A1GP. I've raced there with 38 cars at once. It's an awesome track. https://speedcafe.com/reynolds-outlines-mickey-mouse-taupo-supercars-challenge/
I have had a heck of a time finding where you could actually claim your merchandise.
They sent me an email saying I had $100 credit but didn't include the link to the store.
Well, here is the link if anyone else was as lost as me.
I've had this for years but have never known the autograph to the left, can anyone ID?
Just watching the 2017 Bathhurst 1000, and noticed inside RedBull Holden 88 car, a pair of small spinning bars infront of the passenger side. Pretty sure the cars aren't clockwork, so what are they?
Cheers.

I have been watching from the sidelines with anticipation like the majority of you since the announcement came out that Brodie would not be racing for Erebus at the beginning of the year.
This weeks' announcement of Brodie's return has completely changed my view of who might be the guilty party in the entire ordeal. Their name is Peter Adderton; owner of a very successful, multi-national telco business who has not been backwards in coming forward with their thoughts and opinions on the matter.
Upon reflection, [the timeline of events speaks volumes.](https://www.theracetorque.com/2024/03/kostecki-erebus-the-media-timeline/)
I think Brodie has been the helpless party stuck in the middle of a feud between Erebus and Boost Mobile. On the Rusty's Garage podcast released on 11 February, Adderton inferred that problems began to arise after Brodie returned from his NASCAR race prior to the Supercars event at Tailem bend. This suggests that Brodie's wish to join the NASCAR ranks in 2024 might have been declined and the subsequent announcement a week later that Will brown was joining Triple 8, might have brought simmering tensions up to a boil......between Erebus and Boost.
Adderton was, after all, sponsoring Brodie's NASCAR under the US branch of his telco, Mobile X.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The below statements are my opinions only.
What if the reason Coca-Cola, Shaw & Partners and Southern Cross Truck Rentals departed wasn't their reluctance to work with Erebus anymore but it was their reluctance to be associated with Boost Mobile? Now don't get me wrong, i dislike Barry Ryan as much as the next guy, but it's worth a thought. It doesn't hold up very well to scrutiny though, I'll admit.
On another matter, we pundits can see through all of the bullshit about Brodie's health.
6 February- Roland Dane says in his column;
> I will be as clear as I can be. This is not an issue of mental health
11 February - Brodie makes his first public appearance since the saga began at the Motorsport Australia gala awards stating that he is in;
> generally good health
8 April - Brodie returns to Erebus and states;
> I needed some time away to prioritise my health
Adderton then blows up about disloyalty and without naming Brodie, we can all tell it's he who Adderton is speaking about. It's clear that Erebus have won the battle of Brodie but I'm not so sure the battle was against Brodie. I think it might have been fought against Boost Mobile, with Brodie being the prized possession.
