WTCC, BTCC, V8 Supercars, DTM, STCC, CTCC, CCTCC, ETCC, Continental Tire Challenge, TC2000, Superstars, etc. This subreddit is for all types of touring car racing.
What defines a touring car? That's a good question, and it can be debated ad nauseam. Should silhouettes count? Are GT cars touring cars? Opinions may vary.
For that reason, this subreddit will allow any forms of racing that are largely based on (or meant to resemble) production road cars. Classic touring cars also welcome... Even virtual touring car racing is welcome here. In the end, it's all about the quality action on the track, isn't it?

Hi r/TouringCar,
We are scientists from the Ruhr-University in Bochum in Germany and currently researching how athletes from different sports and at different proficiency levels differ in their personalities.
We created a survey in which you are asked to pick your main sport and to then characterize the typical and the ideal athlete of this sport. When choosing your sport from our list of sports "Auto Racing" is probably the best fit for you.
The survey takes about 20 minutes and as compensation, we will later inform you about the typical personality profile of your sport!

Feel free to share the link with other people of your/other sports!
If you have questions, leave them in the comments and we will try to answer them.
Thank you so much in advance!
Discussion of assorted Touring Car series on reddit here:
The TCR series and car have almost finished its first year of competition. We've seen some great racing, and new cars appear over the year. We still have one of the biggest races of the season still to come the season ender at Macau.
So who's got the hot takes on it after one year? Things you like, don't like. Think it's here to stay?
