I was lucky enough to have my first job at 15 Irwindale Raceway in California in 73, working concession and souvenir stands, the last year it operated. Such great memories.
This post may not relate to everyone in this sub reddit but it's been said so many times by others that I felt oblidged to have a jab of my own.
As the title says we definitely need a new NHRA game. The one we got given in a wet envelope a couple years ago was an absolute let down. What we really need is someone in charge that knows what they're doing, what the scene is about and what it feels like to race firsthand instead of the developers who buy an $8 latte before starting work in a massive air conditioned corporate building and spend their afternoons dragging through twitter feeds. This must be why a smaller garage-based team is making a better product than this sponsor backed development team. It's been almost three years, and nothing about the 2022 game was positive at all apart from the YouTube reviewers who were paid to give it a good reception. Half of the cars weren't licensed. The crashes (in game crashes, not software crashes) aren't realistic in the slightest. I mentioned to the developers that some of the logos were upside down in the GAME'S OFFICIAL TRAILER!! Seriously in the games official trailer! How lazy could a massive team get to let something like that slide if the sponsors paid huge amounts of money to appear in the game? Is that why they couldn't get any licensing from manufacturers? Imagine the Dodge logo being upside down!
Can we seriously just pull our gamer man britches up and start a bit of ruckus? The draught needs to be flooded!

Hello everyone, I found this shirt and have been having fun identifying the signatures. There are 6 total I believe to be courtney force, fast jack beckman, ron capps and Tommy johnson are the ones im able to identify. The others are difficult to make out. The small one under tommy johnson looks like it says "salt". The other is very difficult to make out cause it's so dark but it's on the right sleeve. A friend of mine I think will appreciate this shirt as him and his family are very involved in pdra racing.
I have a J. Ubusuki painting. “Top Banana” signed by Eddie and Ercie Hill. It’s one of 850 in perfect condition. Is this worth anything? It’s 32x24 but that includes the Frame and matting.
I received this boot from a long-time friend of my dad, who mentioned he obtained it years ago. He claims it's John Force's boot from when he caught fire at Bristol, but he can't recall the exact date of that incident, and I haven't been able to find any information on it myself. I tried searching online, but nothing came up, and I'm unsure where else to look.
My dad and his friend are a bit long in the tooth these days, and having been involved in this scene for many years, I'm struggling to get any clarity from them. Lol!
I do believe this is really John Force's boot, but can anyone assist in determining when he might have caught fire at Bristol? It's also possible that the guy misremembered the location, and it wasn't actually Bristol. The closest incident I found occurred in Texas instead of Tennessee.
Thanks!
Sherry
Does Gainesville pre-race pro testing still occur, when does it happen and can spectators go and watch?
