So in April I bought a wrecked 2023 Honda Civic Sport, and I had only the intentions of getting it driveable for work and daily use. However my friends, are really into Rally Car racing, and with my Racing background in GoKarts they think we could make a great Rally team, and they wanna transform my civic into a rally vehicle. I am not seeing many people do this online. Any ideas of what we would have to change, so we can figure out a price point for it.
Its a 2023 Honda Civic Sport - Automatic FWD.
VAUXHALL NOVA🔥🔥
So I'll just start of with the question then give context: What's the best place to start off with to get to WRC in a relatively "fast" way?
I have experience driving cars in a rally setting, I'm a 17 year old from the UK, I have experience with all sorts of cars fromm Rally4, to hints of rally2, and groupN etc etc, I'm good at driving them but I want to take it professionally. I have the opportunity for my first car to be a Subaru wrx sti (prodrive 2004), which is about £18/20k ish from my dad. Now here's the thing, I'm unsure if I should take that offer or put the money into some other car, I know the Subaru would be great in a Group N setting, and I've driven Subaru stis in rally (not officially) several times and they're great cars, but obviously I'm not entirely familiar with the world of sponsors, and what they want etc, and obviously there's no chance I can privateer my way to WRC, so I'm looking for sponsors at one point (probably wrc2 onwards). What car would you guys say is the best to start of with to build my career (taking this opportunity from my dad in mind) and what's the best way to approach building my career?
Edit: just to mention, I'm also curious that if I do well in group N of the bat would that be more attractive to sponsors?
Anyone else going to the Island Stages Rally on the Isle of Wight today?
I'm looking for some youtube channels or videos that have a similar vibe to the 2000s camcorder skate films with music sountracks on top, something i can put on in the background, but with rally footage. I haven't had any luck searching on youtube, they seem to be less than 5 minutes long with 1 song max, while im looking for something 15-20 minutes plus.
I’m looking for an area to hoon around in, practice some handbrake turns, etc. I’d preferably like to find a private course or track that way I can actually corner fast. I just don’t do crazy stuff on public roads.
We have plenty of dirt roads around here, but they are 90% loose white sand with a tiny bit of clay mixed in…some sandy spots are very deep. Very little control when you hit a deep sand patch and it throws you, even at slow speeds.
Any suggestions are appreciated!
Hey guys, I was wondering If your able to tune in to the Marshalls radio's while on a rally here in the UK, I've seen a few people bring a radio with them and listen to everything that's going on at a stage if there's something that's happened up the road or something like that. Could anyone point me to the right frequency to listen to?
Is there a west coast event soon or are they in the area for testing? Very strange. Their hauler was stuck in traffic by JBLM at 5pm
I just came to think of this while watching a compilation of local rally highlights from Sweden and Finland. Finland has brought home 16 WRC Championships with 8 drivers, while Sweden only has 2 titles with 2 drivers.
I find this strange because I know for a fact that the car culture as a whole is very similar in both countries, and rallying and motorsport in general is pretty big in both countries. Both also have lots of kids getting behind the wheel at a very young age by driving on the ice or through "Folkrace" which is a pretty popular, entry level motorsport in both countries, kinda similar to rallycross but with old bangers
It's a similar story in F1 too, Finland has 4 titles and Sweden has 0...
I'm absolutely not complaining, as I am born and raised in Finland, I am very proud of our success in rallying and F1, and of course, we finns like to show up Sweden whenever we can... ;P
I just find it strange....
Any thoughts on why there's such a difference?
i know the car is a little bit heavier but the horsepower and AWD seems to make it a good choice for a rally and daily. (2000s) what yall think?
also i’m not taking Rally seriously yet just driving on some dirt roads until more events open up in my state lol.
Hello everyone my budget is 10k cad and was looking at what would be best im going to try snow rally courses and the car would also be used as a fun winter car Not looking at racing, car would only be used in the snow
Currently my prospects are 2010 audi a4 2007 legacy gt spec b Or any wrx i can get my hands on Wrx sti are a bit above ky budget
From the research ive done the sti's has the best awd system out of the one i mentioned
Any input is appreciated
Whenever I watch WRC I am always amazed at how the drivers never lock up. Isn't it super easy to lock all four wheels during braking on loose surfaces? They don't lock up even on tarmac though. Even f1 drivers sometimes lock up when driving on the limit, and they are racing on circuits that they have done hundreds of laps.
I was in the south of France on holiday last week and did a day trip to San Remo and unknowingly was there the day of the rally. Got some footage of some of the classic cars checking in right in the city center where we were eating. Great day.
Hello all, feel like someone might’ve already said something like this but here it is anyway. I’m new to rally. I’m coming from F1 and NASCAR. Just curious, how it works, anything you guys would suggest to watch to learn more about the sport. Maybe some stuff to read. Just any tips to understand the sport. Thank you got your time.
Enjoyed this hoon through the Vissi Special Stage in Tänak's i20 N Rally1 tonight. I definitely went all out with the theatrics... 😁 Hopefully you enjoy this pic I grabbed!
Anybody can help me out? I have a 2017 ford fiesta
and I want to make it wider like rally car, and RWD (rear wheel drive). add a cage and prepare for track days and in some future to make it drift....
Im now building the cage and turning it into 2 door... no problem there...
What recommendations you have on turning the card from FWD to RWD? its my biggest headache. Im on a budget (40K-50K). but can do it. also im open to motor swap for somthing easy to maintain and RWD...
I also own a 1994 Ford Sierra XR4 (RWD) and was thinking of maybe use all those parts for the fiesta... Also anothr option might be motor swap with an honda CBr 1000... and have the engine in the back... I have no intentions to use the car on the street...
What recommendations you guys have...?
Final goal...
thanks
