Bathurst 12H is always one of my favorite races. The coverage is just fantastic…the best onboards, the best sound so we can hear those brilliant GT3 engines, and love the announcing team! I am even enjoying all the support series … I cancelled plans over the weekend so I can veg at home and watch every minute
MJC enter a Bentley continental GT3 in the GT Winter Series 6h of Portimao
Ford have announced that they will return to the WEC Hypercar class in 2027, which includes a return to the Le Mans 24 Hours.
By the time they rejoin, it'll have been about 61 years since their iconic rivalry with Ferrari, which obviously inspired the 2019 film "Ford vs Ferrari"
Currently, it appears that there are no plans to move into IMSA, and they haven't announced any drivers yet either of course.
Hi all, I have spent some time looking for the BoP for this weekend's B12HR and I was not able to find any information on the IGTC, Meguiars B12HR, or Sportscar365 websites. Does anyone know if it has been released yet, and if so, where? Thanks!
Hey,
maybe someone in into that topic. In the past years, I noticed that the 12h Bathurst is less a multiclass race and more a GT3 race. I remember about 40-50 cars a few years ago and now.. its just around 20.
Why are the lower classes not competiting anymore?
Anyone know? YouTube? Amazon prime video live? Fubo?
Btcc or British gt?
I love motorsports , and I would like to support somthing cheaper than F1 but just as entertaining . Both race at Brands hatch witch is my local track so thats a plus. Sorry for any spelling mistakes and thanks
I was scrolling through Instagram and saw that WRT are entering 2 BMW M4 GT3s instead of the new Evo that competed in 24hr of Dubai and 6hr of Abu Dhabi. What’s the reason for this, I’m new to sportscar racing.
Its no secret that since COVID, and especially recently with the increased tensions between major powers in the ME and Asia, Bathurst has struggled to make itself as enticing as it used to.
22 cars will take to the grid this year, with only a handful of them international entries. The Invitational class has all but collapsed as the plethora of MARC cars that usually compete in the showcase category have decided to participate in the supporting race instead. GT4 category is also only really being competed by 2 teams across 3 cars, with the majority of GT4 teams electing to race in the 6hr instead.
I'm not sure if there will be a solution to save this great race. Maybe going back to the old days where the race was truly an amateur affair with a handful of local pro-teams leading the field would help secure the races future, but at the expense of much grandeur and spectacle.
Maybe moving from IGTC and including a regional double header with Syd Motorsport Park or The Bend will help intice more international teams to make the journey.
Whatever the solution is, I think it's clear that Australia is too far away from the centres of Endurance Racing (US/EU) to survive without radical change.
What are everyone's thoughts? Do we think the Bathurst 12hr will fade away or is there a future where we can consistently look forward to a great race each year?
There might already be a post on this topic but I have been wanting to get into watching racing for awhile and it is extremely complicated to find out where and what to watch. I am really only interested in the GT3 class(I think). I like watching actual manufactured cars racing. Im assuming the best one to watch is the WEC LMGT3 racing series but I can't even find where to watch that on the WEC website. Any help on this topic is appreciated.
