Hello. My contract is set to expire soon and I have found a new company to work for. The HR of the company has stated that I should cancel my visa extension and then go out of the country, come back, and then she will cancel my work permit later. However, online, it states that the work permit must be cancelled on the same day as the cancellation of visa extension. My new company also says that I don’t need to cancel the work permit on the same day. What’s the truth? I’m becoming paranoid of them. I’ve done many search engine queries and checked the labor websites but I can’t find an answer.
Bonus question: Is it really impossible to get the 7 day stay without a plane ticket?
Thank you for your time.
Will have one day layover in BKK in thonglor area. Any inputs much appreciated.
I'm trying to develop a website, and am looking to find resource in thailand. Are there any resources that any one could recommend specializing in SEO?
Hello, We bought too much weed and I need to go back in my country earlier… Can I sell my weed in Bangkok? Thank you
Hey everyone! I’m 22 and here on a two-month vacation in Thailand. I’d love to meet some locals and make new friends, but I’m having trouble with the language barrier. Almost no one seems to understand my English, and they keep speaking to me in Thai, which I can’t follow. I do carry around my phone's translator app with me but it just doesn't feel as if I'm communicating properly..
I’m NOT here for any hookups or the typical “tourist scene" - just looking for genuine connections with the locals who want to chat or share some insights. Are there any good spots or activities where language isn’t a huge barrier? Or maybe any meetups or social spaces where English-speaking locals might also be around?
Thanks a ton!
Hello everyone, i will be visiting Bangkok in Dec and was wondering if Mega Plaza or the shops nearby has places that sells dragon ball cards (old school cards like carddass, visual adventure etc).
Im only there for a few days and itinerary is quite packed so if there is i might want to squeeze some time to visit that area, thanks in advance!
Big hobby of mine and I’m travelling for a while, missing my decks. In Europe where I’m from, we have a thing called “Pirate studios”, where you can rent a time slot to use DJ decks. Is there anywhere in Bangkok that does this?
I drive a Filano in Bangkok and mostly like it. It's a little underpowered and does not handle bumps well at all so I'm thinking of upgrading to the NMAX. I haven't been able to drive one, but have been a passenger and the overall ride feels smoother.
Without considering money, is the upgrade worth it? It would cost me about $40000THB after trading in my Filano.
What is the best cigarette? because the store has only the name without the picture
Need some serious outfitting. 199bht stetsons aren't gonna cut it.
I'm an hour away from Chokchai* if that helps but would appreciate any tips from big bad bkk too.
*I'm guessing that's not gonna be a bad place to look.
Hey peeps,
I need to get a few minor surgeries, scans, and procedures done that I can't afford to do in my country so I figured I'd go to Thailand.
I'm looking for a good, modern, reputable hospital anywhere in Thailand that has reasonable prices for foreigners. Could actually be elsewhere in SEA.
Any recommendations?
I've heard of Bumrungrad and Samitivej but figure they might be very expensive?
If it matters, I need too see a urologist, hepatologist, ENT, and optometrist.
So, like most places we have a split system aircon in the living room, and a decent sized millipede (luckily not centipede) just dropped out of it onto the couch.
Luckily it didn't land on anyone and while they're not aggressive I believe they're not good to touch due to toxins.
Anyways, just wondering how it got in via the aircon? We see them on the ground outside near where the aircon water drains. I'm wondering if it perhaps crawled up the drain pipe. Would it be possible to get though from there and then fall out the air outlets?
Either that or I guess perhaps through the pipe conduit area but that's very high up.
I'm sure the answer is to get the aircon guys out to try and seal it up and/or put some mesh on the drain pipe but just wondering if anyone else has had this happen and knows how?
I moved to the area just recently and was planning on getting an extraction/implant done but had to move away from my old dentist. Anyone who lives/lived here got a dentist they can vouch for?
Aye guys, I've got an interview for the MUIC computer science course. Which type of questions are asked and what is the acceptance rate.. 😊
How rampant is salary discrepancy among migrants and Thai employees?
I am from Myanmar working in two restaurants in Bangkok. My salary is the typical i think. But all of my coworkers are also from Myanmar so I cannot really compare.
I am wondering whether the salary discrepancy between thai and migrants, especially the ones from neighboring countries (vietnam, cambodia, laos, etc) is common and how wide is the pay gap. I know pay gap is true, but to what extent?
My question is particularly for f&b industries, but in white collar jobs is this also rampant? Is it okay if we ask employer for equal pay or at least raise?
Hi all! My step mom has lived in the US for about 20 years now with my dad, but now really wants to move back to Thailand. My dad says she renounced her Thai citizenship when she became a US citizen and doesn't hold dual citizenship. Is it possible to get your Thai citizenship back after renouncing it and what might be a way to get started with that?
Thank you!

Because the English dub of the first movie is rather mediocre and the English dub of the second movie is absolutely suckish.
I have lived here for a few years already (Bkk), and i feel it’s sooo difficult to eat healthy. I’ve gained 9kg, and i’m sure my body fat percentage is skyrocketing.
U have a 7 on every corner, foodpanda and grab are 24/7 available, most food is fried or they use MSG, lot of oils,… when you order smoothies or coffees they are stuffed with syrup, and even healthy looking “soy milks” contain over 500 calories 👀
If u wanna eat healthy food it’s super expensive like olive oil, salmon, decent whole wheat bread, lots of seafood (besides squid and shrimp).
How are you staying healthy while living here?

I've bought some things off of Facebook marketplace in Thailand, and I have a question regarding a lot of posts. Frequently, I see a lot of postings of stuff at market value. In fact I see this quite often. Are people in Thailand hoping to earn a lot of money off of marketplace? Or is it expected that people will haggle so they list things at market value? Coming from America, I always expect second-hand things to be heavily discounted. This is discounting all the obvious scam posts on there. What are your thoughts and experiences?
I met a two Thai people in airport. They were going back to Thailand after staying 1 month in Nepal. They told that they went mardi(trekking), experience Indra jatra(Nepalese festival). We had few conversations in the transfer bus. I forgot to ask any social handles. We were going Thailand for first time. So now my trip is over. I am back to my country. I want to share my experience in Thailand and want to hear their experience in Nepal. I have picture of person as well but I don't wanna post it. I know seat number as well.. but No privacy concerns. Hi All,
I'm looking for recommendations for a Land Agent / RE Agent that could help me liquidate parcels of land across Thailand, such as in Si Racha, Ram Intra, Cha-am, Pak Chong (I'm currently overseas).
Land sizes are around >= 400m^2. Got the papers, just need some boots to check out these derelict locations (inspections), pictures, and run listings. Also open to hearing from freelancers.
Would love it if able to correspond in both ENG & TH :)
Thanks very much!
For those who have been studying the Thai language for many years and can communicate fairly well, even understanding spoken Thai, how do you feel about the fact that Thais often hesitate to speak Thai with you first, assuming you won't understand? Do you sense a social isolation due to this, making it difficult to integrate into Thai society?
In my view, this situation hampers our opportunity for natural communication in Thai, slowing down our learning process and even diminishing our motivation. If you feel that your language skills are unnecessary to others, unless you take the initiative to speak Thai, it can diminish your desire to use the language altogether.
And what do Thais think about this? How do you feel about foreigners speaking Thai?
I was on the beach road pattaya, was having pani puri sitting near a small shop. There was an Australian father and son who were next to me, probably high and drunk. We started conversing, they loved talking to me. They were telling me the story that they sold their home to an Indian and moved to Thailand and how it’s more easy to live in Thailand and the freedom / not so expensive
Our conversation was amazing and they wanted me to keep in touch on Facebook, i genuinely felt this was an amazing experience. They say they will take care of me, if i visit Australia
Where i need someone’s opinion, was this how Australians generally feel about Indians and how they communicate. It was such a wholesome experience that i want to really know.
