UPDATE : I canceled the trip.
Hello, so I went to a club and became friendly with one of the girls. A Russian club and a Russian girl. We hit it off and I asked for her instagram which she gave to me even though she said she wasn’t supposed to. She then the following morning asked me if I wanted to join her in a tour and stay over night in PHI PHI I said yes. I even offered to pay the bill. She sent me this booking to MyThai.Guru to book a tour and stay. This site is ran by @my_dj on instagram as I did some research. They contacted me via WhatsApp after my request and a courier will be showing up at 4pm to collect the fee and give receipt for pick up tomorrow and they will pick us up from our separate hotels. I am wondering if this is safe and something I should follow through on. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this being a scam or something dangerous? I will be honest I am a little nervous but I do want to get to know this girl. Maybe I am being a stupid simp and I should cancel it to be safe and enjoy my solo trip?
Hi I am going to be in phuket for the next two/three months with intentions of coming back here. Was fined rightly in BKK a month ago for not having a IDP, I still want to drive a bike.
I need a license to drive a bike legally here. Where can I do the driver's license? Are there agencies that can help also? I understand there is a long wait for phuket.
Please no judgemental replies 🙏, want to do things the legal way.

Its from a 1998 movie with Vince Vaughn. The movie is about Malaysia but actually they never once filmed in Malaysia. Instead they filmed in Phuket. I am just wondering if anyone knows which beach this is? I really love the ambience and colors of this scene and would really love to visit this beach one day myself.
Thanks
Hi flying in soon and wanted to know if theres attire requirements for males? What is the requirement for attire for males? Thanks!
I need it to link between two Macbooks, but it doesn't have to be from Apple. It would be best if I could buy one from Apple, though. Any enlightening from kindy? :)
p.s. I'm a noob here. Any friendly gesture is welcome. I need some friends to hang out with for this 3-month stay here. So, nudge me if you are interested in a digital nomad from South Korea.
During my time in Thailand, I’ve noticed that many older expats, particularly those aged 60 and above, often come across as unfriendly or difficult to approach.
Most of them seem to have a defensive or aggressive demeanor, especially when making eye contact. Simply put, they look like trashy unfriendly assholes. What's wrong with these old perverts?
I’ve also observed that many of them don’t drive motorbikes very well, yet they act as if they know the roads better than anyone else. Has anyone else had similar experiences?
I'm thinking about visiting Nai Harn Beach around Christmas / New Years Eve for 3 weeks and want to stay also in this area... I'm reading conflicting comments, so any advise would be highly appreciated.
How ist the beach during this period, what kind of folks, dirtyness, any issues with the river comming from Rawai?
How's the infrastructure, any nightlife possibilities nearby?
Any recommendations where i can get my upper body waxed?
Is there a barbershop where they dye man’s hair? Wanna try blonde Been looking for a while and haven’t found any so far.
I’m staying at Phuket town.
Planning a relaxed vacation in Phuket with family. We’re a couple who loves spending most of the day on the beach and prefer a peaceful atmosphere over crowded tourist spots.
Besides Patong and Kata, which areas should we avoid due to high tourist traffic? And which quieter beaches or islands would you recommend for a more laid-back stay?
We have plenty of days to explore, so we’re open to island stays as well. Would love any recommendations for hidden gems or serene spots!
Thanks in advance!
Gonna be in Thailand for four days with my girl, and we're thinking of staying in different hotels. Sound crazy? We're planning one day in Phi Phi, one in Koh Lone and the rest in Patong. Any tips? Where's good for watersports? It's my first time, so I'm a bit lost. Thanks!
I'm looking for a fiber optic sync cable for an underwater camera flash (specifically a sea & sea style push connector). Is there a recommended shop near phuket town where I can buy this?
Took about 1.5 hour to drive back from rawai to Phuket town last night
The road up to chalong roundabout is ridicolous
Cannot believe they allowed that Massive shopping Centre to be built opposite the postcard perfect beach of rawai….WTF are these clowns thinking….
Honestly And that shopping centre is so rubbish in terms of quality of shops, like Starbucks and massive shitty tops supermarket WTF! lol….ruin the beachfront with that shit
They could have At least put decent restaurants of cafes and chic shops like bartells (blue tree style shops with arts and crafts etc) …..
Bottom half of rawai is now being taken over by Muslims it seems with many women now wear full face burqas 😬 with Islamic writing and symbols on many shops
My (25m) and my fiancé (27f) will be travelling to Phuket in March for four days, planning to stay at Kata Beach. Now while it looks beautiful, and beaches were the number 1 request from my fiancé for our honeymoon, I can’t help but worry when I see a wide variety of posts about Phuket as a whole. I have currently budgeted about 4000 baht for us per day, booking a hotel for about 3000 baht per night.
Main questions are as follows:
How are the beaches at Kata? Easy to chill at and maybe go for a dip?
Are there plenty of good restaurants around Kata?
What is the general cleanliness of hotels?
We plan to do a tour to one of the islands nearby for some beautiful beaches. Which tour/experience would you recommend (probably will just do one, maybe two daytrips)?
Any common scams or things we should watch out for/be aware of?
I’ve planned a couple of trips to Asian countries before like Japan, Korea, and Taiwan, but for some reason I have anxiety about Thailand (most likely as I’m planning for someone else, specifically for our honeymoon).
I really appreciate any advice/responses and will do my best to respond to comments and messages. Thanks!
I want a house with 3 rooms in Kathu
Happy February People of Phuket!
I collect postcards but I don't have one from Phuket.
Can someone send me a postcard from there?
Thank you in advance! :)
Any recommendations for a daytime cruise to islands around Phuket? I’d prefer a longboat, don’t need snorkeling, more about seeing them and perhaps some walking around. Thank you!
Hi Community,
only 3 weeks left and my gym/beach holiday in phuket is starting. Because it’s my first time there, i appreciate any tipps and tricks you can give me. Anything about ATM‘s, Nightlife, Beaches, Foodspots and so on.
I’m staying near my booked gym for nearly 30 days and in my free time i’d love to take a vehicle or a taxi to travel to cool spots.
Sunday Market in Old Town is already on my list.
Any Suggestions?

Hello everyone. I just moved to Phuket from the USA. I put travel notifications on all my cards, but cannot order anything from Shopee, Lazada, Aliexpress, and most other ecommerce stores. Not only that I cannot use Kbank payment gateway. I've spent hours on the phone with my bank and Visa. They said the problem is not on their end. Has anyone else had trouble with this?
I also went to Kbank today to try and open a bank account. They said I can't because I have a DTV visa. How am I supposed to pay for anything!
I can't listen online
Going in FEB
Hey Reddit! Any expats playing MTG on Phuket? We are a couple, recently started playing and feel like we would not blend with local community, due to language barrier. Hit me in DM if you wanna gather for a beer and commander style game :)
My girlfriend and I are looking to visit Kamala beach tomorrow most likely leaving around 9-10am. It says the ride is about 800 Baht. So we could split it in half. Unless anyone knows a more affordable way to get there I’d love suggestions as I just arrived to Phuket today and feel a little lost.
Strictly forbidden / stupid to even think about it? (Like most places in Asia) or is it possible to get some of Colombia’s finest?
Hi all, I’m going to be traveling Phuket for the first time with my partner at the end of the year. From the 25th of November to December 2nd. However, after a bit of research, there’s a possibility of the weather causing problems? Would it be better going for 7 days from December onwards?
This will be the first time I’ve been abroad (From the UK) since I was 6, so I want to make sure it will go as smoothly as possible haha.
Hey everyone!
I’m a 31-year-old Palestinian living in Qatar, and I’ll be in Phuket (staying in Patong) from February 4th to February 11th. This is my first time in Thailand, and I’d love to meet people to explore together—whether it’s hiking, adventure activities, or discovering hidden gems like scenic trails, waterfalls, and local spots.
I’m 420-friendly and don’t drink alcohol, but I’m always up for great company, good vibes, and fun adventures! If you’re a fellow traveler or a local who enjoys outdoor experiences, let’s connect and make some awesome memories.
Feel free to drop a comment or DM me if you’re up for some exploration!
Looking forward to some fun adventures!
Are there any sports bars that might be opening at the ungodly hour this game is on?? Asking for a friend.
Is it possible to buy pills in phuket if i got prescription in another country? And what pharmacy is the best for it?
