Box Office: Opens at 6:00PM
A prolific director he is not, director Víctor Erice’s fourth feature, Close Your Eyes, is his first feature in more than 30 years. Erice (The Spirit of the Beehive, El Sur) sets Close Your Eyes in contemporary Madrid and focuses on an aging filmmaker, Miguel Garay (Manolo Solo), who is struggling to complete his final film, The Farewell Gaze. Decades earlier, while in production, Miguel’s friend and his film’s lead actor, Julio Arenas (José Coronado), disappeared, halting the shoot and creating enduring mysteries. When prompted by an investigative television crew, Miguel returns to the uncompleted film, reconnects with his fellow filmmakers, and tries to find closure for the disruption Julio’s disappearance caused all those years ago.
In Spanish and Catalan with English subtitles.

Title: Bruce Baillie on 16mm: “All My Life,” “Castro Street (Coming of Consciousness),” and Quick Billy (Bruce Baillie, 1966/1966/1970, USA, 3/10/60 minutes) For more info
Showtime: 9/22(Sun), at 7:30PM
Box Office: Opens at 6:30PM
Avant-garde filmmaker Bruce Baillie, co-founder of the Canyon Cinema Co-op and cited influence on everyone from George Lucas to Apichatpong Weerasethakul, has six of his films canonized in Anthology Film Archives’ “Essential Cinema” repertory program, and the Webster Film Series is thrilled to show of three of them in their native 16mm format. Of the three-minute “All My Life,” New York Times film critic Manohla Dargis says it’s “one of the most perfect films [she has] ever seen,” and that “you can watch ‘All My Life’ and other Baillie films online, but don’t,” encouraging readers to see it on the big screen as intended. The 10-minute “Castro Street (Coming of Consciousness)” was filmed on the titular street in Richmond, California, and features some of the best superimposition work you’re likely to ever see. “Castro Street” was selected for the National Film Registry in 1992. Finally, we’re ending with the semi-autobiographical (“interior documentary,” per Baillie) Quick Billy, which Weerasethakul included on his list of the ten best films ever made that he submitted to Sight & Sound for their 2022 poll. Weerasethakul, recalling seeing Baillie’s films as a graduate student in Chicago, said that “his films, his work, made my brain explode.”

Hey folks. Coming through to STL for the weekend. Any musical activities besides the intercom fest?
So at the beginning of the year one of my best friends and I found a place in San Francisco where we shared some mussels and a margherita pizza for dinner. Weird combo, I know, but it was one of our favorite meals. Since then we’ve been trying to find local spots that offer both of those items on their menu. So far we’ve only found Anthonino’s.
So I’m asking you, St. Louis. Do you know any local spots that offer some great mussels and margherita pizza!?
Does anyone know of a tattoo shop that does Friday the 13th tattoos?
Smells like death.
Standing in line right now. Has anyone noticed that this building has a very strong mold smell? It hit me the second I walked in. Feel like this probably isn’t a healthy place to have the public let alone employees.
I play in a local band around town. I've played a bunch of gigs from Red Flag to smaller places like Sky Musix but I'm looking to maybe get with some new people.
Love everything from classic Rolling Stones, Beatles to modern Arists/ indie rock and im fairly open minded when it come to making music.
Edit: 27 yo/mostly play guitar and bass but can do a little on a lot of instruments for studio/specific songs. Don't smoke but enjoy a beer or two when jamming but don't need too.
Also have some studio recordings of my various bands stuff that I've written if your curious about that
Since it’s the season for it, anyone know of a Mexican restaurant serving chiles en nogada, or some variant thereof? IYKYK. TIA!
Anybody going to see him at Music at the Intersection? 🚂
Most of you will think this is stupid and I'm crazy, but whatever.
I would like to find a small group of people to play some board games with and maybe become friends.
Yes, there are other meetups but it is large groups and they already have their cliches.
Anyone interested in meeting up and playing board games?
Edit: If you are interested feel free to message me!
Received an email a bit ago that said a threat was identified on Instagram to select schools in the area and it was being investigated, but nothing else. Does anyone have any other info, list of schools, etc.?
Not wanting to create panic, but also would like the full picture.
My kid likes going to the music/dance shows and they don't post the schedules online anywhere that I can find. Can you take a picture of the flyer with the times and post to this thread? Thanks!
Looking to hire a personal chef in October for an evening dinner. My wife is turning 40 and our wedding anniversary is the same week. Anyone have experience locally or have any recommendations? I’m woefully inadequate at planning parties so any help you might offer would be greatly appreciated!
In 2022 my wife and I bought an old house in Tower Grove East. It needs some love (repairs, fix ups, etc) but we can’t afford to do it all at once. Would love to get a trusted contractor’s opinions on what needs attention first bc it feels a bit overwhelming. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Hi All, I have a property in Shaw that has 2 address for 1 3-unit building/1 parcel. It's listed like xx48-xxx50 Street Name Ave, St. Louis, 63110. I have 2 water bills for the property as well.
Does anyone else have a situation like this? I have heard that it's unique to a few areas in the city for houses built before a certain date (1910?). Is it possible to have this collapsed into 1 address? It's a pain when it comes to insurance, utility billing, etc.
Please recommend me an affordable oral surgeon for impacted wisdom teeth removal around St. Louis area. Also please mention the total cost as well if you've gone through this process. 🙏
Please suggest places where I can get small windshield chips repaired so my car passes safety. They are not too major. If you've done it before, can you also tell me how much it costs?
What it says what are your favorite local wing spots.
There’s so many along that road, where do I start?
Does anyone know of shops doing flash deals today?
Hey guys! The wife and I have date night tonight and we’re looking for a great new restaurant with a patio and preferably with live music. Anywhere from south city out to Manchester/ballwin works!
Also any type of food, we like everything
