We’re looking to convert the wood burning fireplace in our 1920s house to gas. Looking for company recommendations to get a few quotes. Thanks!
Non-citizens already can't vote. The real purpose of the amendment is to ban ranked-choice voting, which is the only way that people can actually vote for 3rd party candidates without shooting themselves in the foot. Vote no.
Anyone have recommendations for a home birth midwife? And what’s the going rate for one?

Has anyone hired someone to deep clean their washing machine? I have a front loader and the seal is getting gross.
I spray it down and run a cycle with vinegar once a month, but it needs a deep clean.
When I Google for this service, all that comes up is washing machine repair.
Hey everyone! I came for a work thing from PNW and was wondering:
is there a bike share/rental company with an easy access to bike around downtown? I don't drive and don't really want to take an hour long walk. Any other biking suggestions are more than welcome!
is there a sport bar or smth that might screen college football Oregon ducks Vs Michigan tomorrow?
thank you!

Hi~ I'm getting married in St Louis, I'm originally from here but live out of state now. We are thinking of having Chinese catering for either the welcome party or wedding, and it would be a large group of around 150 people.
My fiancé's parents are from Hong Kong and he and I live on the west coast now so we are used to a certain level of quality/variety of Chinese food. I love St Louis food of all types and for sure we have some good Chinese restaurants, but I'm not sure how common it is for them to cater large events.
I see that LuLu does catering as well as banquets - Does anyone have experience with them in this setting, or any other recommendations? A focus on Cantonese dishes would be ideal but we would be open to other options as well.
Does anyone have any experiences with this place? How sketchy is it and how's parking? I'd like to go this weekend but I'm a bit nervous to go solo. Thanks!
Just heard on the new that 911 is down in St. Louis on Halloween…
Just curious about where the “boundary” for telling jokes on Halloween starts and stops, so to speak. I’ve heard the Metro East doesn’t, but my friend from Wentzville says they tell jokes there. Not sure about Jefferson, Franklin, Warren, or Lincoln Counties.
Obligatory Halloween joke: How did the Spanish magician end his magic routine? He said “uno, dos…” and disappeared without a tres.
It's only about 8:40 and I'm inside already because we ran out of candy--and we started with a bunch! I still hear lots of activity out on the street.
I love to see all the kids (and young adults!) out having fun. I suppose the weather helps, too.
That's the report from the north side of the CWE. How about in your neck of the woods?
I now live in the Minneapolis area (it snowed today). Most of the time, the kids also have fun with being asked for a joke, but sometimes the kids look like deer caught in headlights. I usually help them out by saying they can ask their friend or sibling for help, but quickly cave and still hand out the candy if the kid is struggling or one kid really didn't want to.
I asked one of the older kids if anyone else makes them say a joke first, and they quickly said "no." I guess next year, I should hand out toasted raviolis instead of candy.
24 Male here, I'm not new to St.Louis, lived here til I was 18 and moved away for college. I've been back in the city for a year and a half and tbh, I'm just wanting to make friends to go do stuff and have a great time.
My old friends moved away and I'm just wanting to enjoy life. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ya'll.
My mother is putting me out…don’t want to go in details about all what transpired but she has asked me to leave her house. Can someone please give me any advice for apartment hunting? i’m looking for something in the $700-$900 range
this will also be my first apartment so this is kind of an anxious experience for me.

New 4K restoration!
The Sacrifice, Russian master Andrei Tarkovsky’s seventh and final narrative feature film, made while he was dying of cancer, finds him edging toward Ingmar Bergman territory while retaining his own distinct and indomitable voice. And when we say he edges toward Bergman’s territory, we mean that both figuratively and literally—The Sacrifice is a Swedish production, focused on a Swedish family (with the patriarch, Alexander, being played by Cries & Whispers’ Erland Josephson), and was shot by Bergman’s brilliant cinematographer Sven Nykvist (Persona, among countless others). Alexander and his family are celebrating his birthday on a remote Baltic island when news of World War III breaks. Alexander is impelled to take rash action to save his family from impending nuclear war.
In Swedish, French, and English, with English subtitles as needed.
