Hey guys , looking out for any links to an affordable driving school here in Kansas City? I have heard about johnnyrowlandsdrivingschools and others which are almost $400+ . I want to know which is the cheapest here.
Just moved to South Hyde Park, after living in Waldo for several years. I hadn't realized how spoiled I was for being just 4 or 5 blocks away from Aldi. I could step out to grab a gallon of milk or loaf of bread and be back in the kitchen in 10min or less.
Today I made the rookie mistake of trying to do a quick run at Costco for just bread and milk. Of course it took me over half an hour, and I bought more stuff than planned.
The Aldi on Troost is a little ways out. I wish it was easier to drive straight west for Sunfresh. What's the Aldi at Prospect like? The Whole Foods at 51st is another option.
Want to get a friend a home cleaning service for the holidays. Can anyone give me recommendations for a good quality and appropriately priced company? TIA
I have been offered a position and I have jumped through so many hoops for this place trying to get through this brutal onboarding process! They first couldn’t verify my education but didn’t specify what education so I had my trade school transcript sent when it was my high school they were wanting. Found that out last week when all school offices were closed for the holiday. Then they brought up my DMV record and asked for details. I provided them and had to wait for a response from another department on whether or not they would need more info. They did but the person I was talking to thought DMV report would be enough. Did not find out until after holiday weekend that they need more info. I did get all the other stuff verified to this point.
I want this job so very much, so I’m trying to take this in stride. But I’m so anxious. I had an accident in April of this year after I failed to stop at a light. I know this is a really bad one, but it gets worse: in August of this year, I backed into a car that was parked behind my driveway.
I had to order a police report for the first accident. There is not a police report for the other one since no one was cited and it was private property, but since an officer came it is on my DMV record. I did provide the record to them but I don’t have anything else to give. It sounded like there’s a very real possibility that I am not going to get this job due to this record. I sent everything over this afternoon but did not learn anything by end of day. I was supposed to start this Thursday, but it seems like at the very least, that will be pushed back. I’m just feeling really down about it. I had a clean record for 5+ years, and then this year has been a bad one. This also seems odd since the position does not require travel or driving at all. Unless they are decided whether or not I am attentive enough to be a good employee based on this?
Has anyone else experienced this process? Or can anyone offer any insight.
Please be nice to me I’m just trying to quiet my mind as I wait 😭
8:00 today!
Any recommendations on a professional shop that offers walnut blasting around KC? I searched the sub but the last post was awhile ago, just curious if there’s any more highly recommended options lately. Thanks!
Looking for a reputable gold/silver dealer in kc
Since SMS Text verification is easily hackable, I was looking to increase security of my money by selecting a bank that would require YubiKey or any other physical key to login online (without allowing for SMS Text verification backup). Do any banks in Kansas City offer that?
Just set out this box of six cans and a few bags of dog food by the dumpster behind Normandy apartments at 11th and Washington. It’s all “expired” 10-2024. If anyone needs help feeding their pups.
Just noticed today that long time radio guy Kevin Keitzman is back on the air 10–noon weekdays. What happened to Ray Stevens? Keitzman burned a lot of bridges years ago which is why he was forced off the air.
We’re not going through insurance and drive a Hyundai.
i need to study for an exam tonight and i’m looking for a coffeeshop with cozy winter/christmas vibes. can anyone recommend a place to me?
Basically where should you go when you need to check yourself in when on the verge of a total breakdown.
Hey all, I’m looking for ideas for 2nd jobs. Ideally part time in the evening 5-10pm ish.
I have a full time day job and my wife is on maternity leave only getting 60% of her pay. So I figured I’d do something for extra cash. And when she’s back to work, I’ll probably stick with it to help pay bills and fast pay some debt.
I figured I’d deliver pizzas as I did that in my late teens and it’s easy. But my car has a lot of miles on it already and I commute over a hour each day. Figured it’d be a good idea to see if anyone has some unicorn job that I can drop into.
I’m open to most things. I’m handy, have experience with CS, and can do physical work.
Thank you
I’m looking for a new mechanic to service my Infiniti Q50. I don’t prefer to take it to a dealer. Any suggestions are appreciated.
I'm not picking someone up. I'm not dropping someone off. I need to go into the entrance of the airport to speak to the clear representatives as part of my TSA PreCheck application. Is there somewhere I can park that's not going to cost? Or am I stuck paying for parking or having a spouse drop me off and go driving until I'm ready.
Company lets us choose charity’s to support with matched donations. What are some good ones in KC that fight hunger etc?
Preferably not a Jiffy Lube or some place way out in the burbs. Bonus points for anywhere between the north east or the crossroads.
Above Mahomes, above Bobby Baseball, above anyone else. Who else and what else needs to be on a "KC Best of 2024" list?
Come to the Kansas City Oasis Community Center this evening and every Wednesday evening and find a space held just for you, to practice meditation in silence with others. If you've never meditated before, that's perfectly fine. Tips and guidance will be offered prior to our silent meditation. This time and space is dedicated to being a protective refuge from all that may be on your mind. We'll have reflective post-meditation discussion regarding our experiences during our meditation. Tea and snacks will be freely offered. Feel free to bring a yoga mat/ meditation pillow (limited amount offered). Use the metal ramp entrance on South side of building. See you there!
Whatcha got?
