I don't got a car and the person I know has a odd schedule so I'm curious if I can take my bag on the bus to the place or if it's a no-go and I get a Uber
We are looking for apartments in downtown Kansas City MO, what areas do you all recommend? Power and Light, Quality Hill, Library and River Market seem like they have nice offerings. Looking for walkability and safety. Probably will be there 3 years. Not moving permanently, maintaining our primary residence.
Tomorrow is Veteran’s Day, have the day off, trying to shake off the last few days and would like to kick it off with a damn good breakfast ideally one that is not your usual waffles and bacon— any suggestions?
Thinking a Lebanese breakfast or Mexican, or Ethiopian
Any places you’d recommend? I live in the city but would drive a bit to get there.

This is also the thread to ask about local services like Internet access, taxes, titling and registration, public transportation, and community resources.

Do anyone know where I can get a 5 gallon glass bottle locally? And possibly fill up on spring water?

I’ve never actually gone out for New Years Eve, and this year I would like to try attending a party.
I want to start weighing my options early before ticket prices increase and to scope out what would be better suited to my tastes.
I’m open to anything, but leaning towards parties that are a little more classy but still rambunctious rather than straight debaucherous bar hopping.
Thanks in advance!
I cannot handle the app scene but where else can I go. Recently divorced mid 40s female and I have tried the apps and they are either fake or the guys tend to be flakey.
I am not looking to fill any holes left by the divorce because there aren’t any. I am an introvert so being alone doest bother me. I just want to occasionally do fun things.
Where can I go and find quality companionship?
My partner and I really love this print on the apartment building on Truman road. Our google searches to find this one have only come up with cheesy etsy prints. We would love this one to hang up in our home and hoping someone here knows where to purchase or someone who would be willing to make for us in the area. Thanks in advance!
My chihuahua has hearing like you wouldn’t believe and got a bit agitated. Sounded like the finale of a fireworks show. I’m out in Merriam. I saw something was being set up inside the Nelson-Atkins today for a big event of some kind. Thought maybe a Veterans’ Day related something or other or were we just hearing things?
I live in red bridge- last two weeks I’ve called in gun shots three times. Haven’t heard them until two weeks ago. Two issues:
Hiiiiii
I'm going on a first date on Monday. We both like jazz, but I feel like green lady can get too loud. Any quieter recs that still bring the same vibe?
thanks!
I switched to the Nights & Weekends plan a couple weeks ago, but I just checked my account and they have me on the Summer Peak plan. Has anyone else had this issue?
Has anyone ever been, and what's it like? We're thinking of going next weekend and wondering if it's worth it. Thanks!!
As I'm sitting here watching a holiday baking show that's about international holiday desserts, I'm wondering if there's a place or event that might have something similar here. I'd love to take my kids to a place this holiday season to try a bunch of different international treats.
I'm starting to plan for my son's 3rd birthday party this winter. Given the expectation of inviting his preschool class, I'm considering doing it at a community center and booking a reptile show because he LOVES snakes and tortoises. This would be in the metro, probably Overland Park or Lenexa, but I'm pretty poor (I'm a college student and recently became disabled due to a previously dormant bleeding disorder) so if anyone has any recs they have used, and pricing to help me compare options, I would REALLY appreciate it.
Ok I'm not sure exactly what I'm looking for because I've never relocated somewhere new. Long story short my husband starts a job on the 18th in Kansas city and come hell or high water he will be there. Now the problem is that we don't have any where to live when we get there. We're hoping to get a hotel room for the four of us (two kids included) until we can get a permanent place. But if that falls through the the plan is for him to go live in his car until he saves enough up for a place while we stay at my mom's in craphole Iowa until then.
I was hoping maybe somebody local could point me in the right direction for any sort of assistance there. Or even tell me what neighborhoods my husband shouldn't be sleeping in his car in if it comes to that.
This truck pushed our waste bin like 50 feet from its location into someone else’s bin and blocked out half of ours. Hard to access physically, definitely wouldn’t be able to be picked up. Is there anything we can report this to?? Been here since yesterday afternoon.
I need to find a place that sells sheets of glass, and lead channeling, and everything that is necessary for making stained glass windows. I used to go to Bearden's, but they closed years ago. The glass at Hobby Lobby is cheap garbage. But now I don't know where to go.
Anyone have experience in the KCKCC Electronics Engineering program? Is is a good program that has led decent job prospects or acceptance to advanced degree programs in the same area of study?
More context, I am 30 y/o and work full time, so not sure if it'd be possible to balance this program with working full time. I'd like to pursue this field because it seems to have some fairly lucrative paths and I have always been fascinated with electronics. I'm also interested in potentially pursuing an advanced degree in this area (maybe abroad, for some obvious reasons right now).
Any input is appreciated. I've heard great things about other KCKCC programs, just wondering about this one specifically.
My wife and I are visiting my parents who live in the St. Louis Metro for the holidays. This year, we are bringing our newborn twin daughters with us, which will require us to make more pitstops along the way. What are some of your favorite gas stations/rest stops that are friendly for changing babies and are clean with decent food options?
Going to our first chiefs game tomorrow. Got parking that says enter thru gate 3-6. What time should we plan to get there? We’re just gonna park and walk around
I have been having a terrible year work wise. From being laid off for things out of my control to just getting screwed over pay and hours wise. I just want something full time, insurance, nice/comfortable environment or WFH, and $18 or more.
I have experience in sales (but I’d like to avoid if possible), customer service, security, animal care, childcare, food.
Please let me know if there’s any recommendations, thank you!
(I have been looking on Indeed, LinkedIn, ZipRecruiter, etc. but it’s just all positions requiring degrees or experience I don’t have so I swear I’m looking and have been looking for months)
I can safely say on a normal day I don’t see a single cop. Today I have heard sirens non stop all day. Police helicopter is currently flying non stop.
Anyone know what’s up? Finally cracking down?
Hey y’all. There is a coffee shop called Cafe Cà Phê in Kansas City that was vandalized after the election. If you have a TikTok or instagram Account, you can see the video on their page. I don’t know if it is the right place to share that but I feel like we should support our local shops especially the one that are a safe space for minorities or marginalized groups. If you can, please go support them. I am not related to them, but It made me sad as it is going viral and it is in my community.
