So, I've noticed a huge surge of personal homes being claimed by air duct cleaning/HVAC companies in my area. Has anyone seen/heard anything about this? What purpose would this serve and is there anything than can be done to fight back.
For example, in between 39th Street and 44th street on Walnut/Warwick there are 12 homes/apartments claimed as HVAC businesses. In between 31st and Armour along main (just under half a mile) there are 9! Just do a search for HVAC along the Main Corridor and you'll see a lot them.

I've seen KC Live and The Ship are doing events, but I was wondering if there are any other places that have some sort of Mardi Gras/Carnival celebrations, drinks, food, King Cake, etc.?
It’s around my spine right in between my shoulders. There is a huge knot on one side that I’m kinda afraid is like a growth or tumor because it’s so huge and weird. Like you can see it visually. Anyway, I’m realizing I can’t wait 2 weeks with how bad this is and muscle relaxers and ibuprofen are starting not to help at all. I have basic insurance so my main concern is just being able to be seen quickly. Thanks if ya got any recommendations!
I have a special occasion to celebrate Friday night. If anyone has been to Saltwell Farms Kitchen and Lonnie's Reno Club....which do u prefer?
i’ve been going to barbers who are great at fades and tapers, which I like. But most of them do not have good skills with the scissors, especially for curly hair. Is there anyone that’s good with both scissors and clippers or at least has experience with scissorwork for men’s curly/wavy hair?
Go outside for a minute or two. It’s beautiful.
On my list i would have to say
The peanut, Mother clucker at parlor, Blue sushi, Streetcar grille, Mission taco, Los tules
Hello dear redditors. Any of you happened to have XTool and had use it on a 09 Prius with proximity smart key? I am using Autel KM100 trying to add a new key to 09 Prius with proximity smart key but the tool isn't reading the car IMMO. I was able to use Autel KM100 on Nissan, Dodge, and Honda so far!
Does anyone know of events being organized in support of immigrant communities? I feel disgusted by what's happening and the passing of SBs 58 and 72 -essentially allowing cash bounties for "illegal aliens" though it's likely these bills will be used to harrass and terrorize Mexican and Latino communities.
I've also seen posted on here about seeing customers do Nazi salutes at a restaurant on the Plaza.
ICE has already been in O'Fallon, it's only a matter of time before we hear about/see raids in KC, if it's not already happening.
I don't want to continue falling in to despair. How can we be good neighbors and community members?
Thanks.
Easy enough, I'm just looking for recommendations for the best Cuban Sandwiches in the metro. Anywhere would do. Could be a deli, a restaurant, a grocery store, anywhere. Just whatever is best
Going to be in the city today.Looking for casino with the best slot machines
It's looking like a nice day today. I'm thinking about finding a place with nice, sunny, natural light, and great food. Not necessarily a patio as it looks to still be too cool for me for that (recently moved from South Texas lol).
She's worked the same upper-end retail job for over a decade but they keep reducing bonuses. Despite constantly being one of the top salespersons, her paycheck keeps dropping year after year. Non-retail preferred but she's open to whatever. Thanks in advance!
In December, my new FSA card was mailed- never got it.
Called in early January- a new one was mailed. It’s been well over 10 business days since it was mailed and still don’t have it.
Requested documents from my bank in early January- still don’t have those.
Also ordered a new atm card for my savings- still don’t have that either
On top of those specific things- I haven’t gotten anything in weeks that wasn’t some random local postcard junk mail. When I know damn well I should be receiving certain bills in the mail.
This is insane, I’m about to change my address for everything to my boyfriends since he actually gets mail, but idk what is going on at the 66212 post office.

Two fold question: Part 1: I’m looking for an in person bookclub in the Northland. Anyone have any suggestions?
Part 2: If one doesn’t exist, I’m considering running one myself. Pick a theme and run it somewhat like an 8 week/16 week course, with a weekly agenda so people can read ahead. I’d include short stories and articles. I have an education degree that I never fully utilized- maybe it’s time to dust it off. Can I use a library community room for this?
I’m done with Meta so trying to organize this shit without FB is honestly the most daunting part. But we did this kind of thing for a long time without it… I know it can be done.
I’m trying to shop for every day items more locally - getting away from Amazon, Target, etc.
Where are your go-tos for household items, food, gifts? Any and all recos appreciated
I’ve been reading up lately a lot about the early scene in Kansas City. I’ve learned about different techno clubs that opened up in the 90s early 00s that aren’t around anymore and it fascinates me because I’ve worked in nightlife for a lot of years and I’m also a history nerd especially Kansas City history. I’ve read about clubs we had like fallout and coliseum and the pictures look awesome but unfortunately the building doesn’t exist anymore. Overall I’ve looked at message boards, old magazine articles, and other things but there is overall very limited information about the early EDM scene in KC. So I guess my question is is there anyone here who was around and part of the scene back then? Does anyone have any fun anecdotes about clubs/underground raves here in the 90s? Did any famous djs play here back then? What was the scene like? Idk if I’ll get any responses but I figured I’d give it a shot posting here. Thank you if you’re still reading!
Hi all, I got new ski pants that are about a foot too long. Shorty probs. Does anyone know of an alterations biz that might do this kind of work? I imagine it’s not simple since the inside of the pants have the elastic boot gaiter at the bottom. Prefer a place south of the river, but willing to travel. Thanks!
Tenant hasn't paid in months.
It sounds like fireworks but I don’t see any. Just wondering if anybody knew what it was.
Where do I get the below kind of butane can in the Kansas City area? Looking for someone who has purchased on recently to respond, not speculative answers. I haven't found them at grocery stores or hardware stores.
Looking to grab some carry out dinner and am wondering what yalls’ favorite light and healthy options are. Preferably within 10-15 minutes of the Kauffman center. I.e. River market, crossroads, even the plaza.
Does anyone have any experience with the Club Pilates in Prairie Village? Would you recommend this location? I used to go to the one in Lee’s Summit and enjoyed it until quite a few of the instructors I enjoyed left. I usually take beginner/intermediate classes, nothing crazy. Any feedback is much appreciated!
I'm planning a night at town co. I'm not sure whether to make a reservation for the dining room or chef's counter. Any recommendations? Is the counter a prix fixe?
I moved to the Kansas City area just last year to work programming lighting for a few churches, and I was curious if anyone on here had any leads on what the live production freelance life is like in this area. I have my own MA3 Command Wing to rent out and if need be I can travel (I regularly go to the Northwest Arkansas and Denver areas for work as well), but I'm a little curious about any leads for different production organizations in KC that need a contracted Lighting Designer.
Maybe a long shot, and sorry if this post isn’t allowed, but does anyone know what color scrubs the ED techs wear at KU ER?
Where did the heart go that was in front of Shawnee mission city hall? My fiancé and I put a lock on there. We just drove by today and it was gone for a project they’re doing. We live an hour away so we don’t see all the news for this area.
