The dilemma of loving family and hating their politics

I’m the only liberal in my family (besides my husband). My parents, grandparents, and siblings all voted for Trump. They don’t seem to care, or pay much attention, to anything going on. I see all the things happening in the world, and the only thing they seem to care about is the price of eggs.

I love them a lot. My parents raised me to be a good, respectful person. My sister is my best friend. We never fight and they have always supported me when I needed it. It’s just so frustrating knowing they blindly follow whatever Fox News says without thinking.

Is anyone else in this boat? Sometimes it’s like I want to scream. Maybe I care too much. I just never expected them to be this way. We never talk about politics because they know I disagree so we leave it alone.

What do you guys do with families like this? Just play nicely and ignore it to keep the peace? I’d love to hear your stories.

I am SO TIRED of the online outrage. Where is the ACTION?!

Every stupid article of Trump and republicans getting "slammed", every meme. Every post where OP is just jerking himself off into an echo chamber of like minded people. It is all just meaningless outrage and it does not help.

Growing up, all of us Americans learned about the Holocaust and everyone would always ask "How did they let it get that bad?" and "Why didn't they do anything?", it never made sense to us as kids because one man can't control millions, unless they let him, right?

And now it's homegrown, or maybe not with Russia and all that, but the fact is that it is happening here now. We don't have gas chambers and kill squads as of this moment, but if you had told republicans 10 years ago that their God King would dismantle the federal government, threaten wars with allies and have a firesale for the scraps, nobody would take you seriously. It happens slowly, and then quickly. WE ARE IN THE QUICKLY PHASE.

Nothing MAGA does makes sense unless look at it from the perspective of "they want the collapse of the U.S."

There needs to be ACTION. Our politicians over the last decade have proven to be dangerously naive, incompetent, complicit, or any combination of the 3. We can not keep throwing our hands in the air and patting ourselves on the back for feeling outrage. What is being done? We the people will, and are, feeling the brunt of their decisions and we will be the ones to pay. Just like we are the ones who pay the price for our broken medical and insurance industries. We pay the price of an unmoved minimum wage. We pay the price of price gouging, inflation, disinformation, and every other monolithic industry that exploits the workers.

Please point me in the direction of people who actually want change and are willing to do what it takes. Because this online bullshit ain't it. The democratic party ain't it. And it is now or never.

There will not be a functioning republic at the end of next year

The president is planning to erode trust in police and the military by using them for unpopular actions. Ice is deporting at an astonishing rate. This is not because he hates these illegals, he could care less, it's so that people see the scary headlines and lose trust in our federal policing, as well as the public military.

Large corporations will then offer private policing, funded by the ultra wealthy pseudo-oligarchs. These private police and militias will be alliegient only to trump and the oligarchs.

Trump also has been firing every person that will speak out against him throughout the doj. Anyone who investigated him was just the start.

All private media is in trumps pocket. Fox obviously is, but cnn is a bit more tricky. CNN will call out Trump for his outrageous remarks, but they were key to his victory, they reported in a way that was favorable to him, for example they reported on some bad thing he'd say, but then they make sure to talk about how the economy was still inflated, to remind people that technically it was better under Trump before covid. They also reported on Gaza in a way that would boost support for Trump, as well as erode trust in Biden and Harris.

Language is also closely controlled by the oligarchs. They own most of major social media platforms, they will use the algorithms to control our speech so that ideas of protest will be shadow banned.

Soon all key executive branch positions of power will be filled with either trump loyalists or people who will be complicit, when the legislature passes laws to restrict the president, no one will be left in these branches to stand up to him. The private militias and police will protect him, and the legislative branch will become ineffective and powerless. The courts also will reinterpret key parts of the constitution so that Trump will have maximum authority.

The result of all this will be that all power resides in the president and a few billionaires funding these private militias, the mainstream media, and social media.

    Blame Trump for Everything

Post about it, let people know that everything is his fault. Not his funkiest, not the cabinet, not DEI, or the Democrats. Don't let the Teflon Don slip.

    We have an opportunity

I'm still in the process of putting together a cohesive statement about this, but follow my logic here and tell me you can't see it too:

    1. "AI is the future," they say. Lots of money is being dumped into it.
    2. Hello, DeepSeek. I don't know if it's ok to cross-post, but this is the TL;DR version.
    3. Have you seen this? He's not wrong. It's not a new idea, either.
    4. I looked Sputnik up on Wikipedia. I found this part to be the most interesting. Here's what I keyed in on:

the televised failure of Vanguard TV-3 on 6 December 1957 deepened American dismay over the country's position in the Space Race. The Americans took a more aggressive stance in the emerging space race,^([87]) resulting in an emphasis on science and technological research, and reforms in many areas from the military to education systems.^([88]) The federal government began investing in science, engineering, and mathematics at all levels of education.^([85])^([89]) An advanced research group was assembled for military purposes.^([85])

So, the tech bros have a ton of cash, a lot of it from the American taxpayer, and a major competitor that is based in China, our biggest economic competitor, has just thrown the gauntlet. That tells me that there is now a tremendous demand for AI tech expertise and labor, doubly so because the U.S. government just went all in with half a trillion dollars.

Can someone tell me, how does one form a union?

For every worker in America, this matters to you. Donald Trump purged the federal government of independent regulators whose job it is to protect working people.
