What happened? The fight isn't over.
Please assign your own county flair!
Keith E. Macksoud, President of the Lincoln Town Council and from District 3, Limerock, has outright said he has no intentions of being a bold leader. I was shocked when I saw that Kenneth Pichette, who represents my district (District 5, Manville), who is a Republican take the stand for green energy and oppose the new power plant proposed to be built, I believe, in Burrillville, only to be shot down by Keith when he said he did not wish to be a leader since he was afraid it would, 'put a target on our back.'
It is my belief that Keith Macksoud must be replaced. The Town Council, I believe, has been pretty stagnant in terms of people who are in it. It is my earnest belief that if we run against them we can replace them and make Lincoln a truly progressive part of Rhode Island.
Sadly for personal reasons I could not run for Town Council this year. However in 2018 I plan to make my run against Kenneth Pichette. In the meantime, until I run, I have some faith he'll have a reasonable mind of some things, though I have no hope that he'll ever push for progressive ordinances.
If we do not have anyone to rally behind to vote out Keith Macksoud, I propose we work hard to make 2018 the year we turn Lincoln into an official progressive stronghold in the state.
In solidarity.
Hi all,
I thought it might be beneficial to include some links to some more progressive publications in the state since the Providence Journal is basically full of advertisements and AP articles and all of the TV stations only report on "The latest health scares for your children... tonight at 6!" The following are a couple of sources that come to mind:
...annnnd unfortunately that's all I have! Please share anything else you can think of. The revolution starts here at home!
