Hoarded notebooks and moving - pls advice

So I have a big problem. Last year I bought A LOT of notebooks - some because they were great quality, or a sale (but still high price), or handmade, or cute.

All of them were pretty expensive and I love having them! But the problem is, I’m moving states in a week. I can parcel them but I have 3 cartons of notebooks and planners.

Donation is an option that I’m considering but I collected these notebooks, spent a lot of time researching and what not. So I’m sad to let them go and don’t really wanna.

Any advice would help

Amazon basics

I’ve been writing in a lined Amazon basics for a week now. I’ve tried every pen I have excluding a sharpie marker. But every other pen has no show thru and no bleed thru. For 8 bucks this is a great notebook and I suggest you pick one up!

Anyone have Recommendations for 80lb paper notebooks?

I’ve been using Erin Condren spiral notebooks now for a while and want to try something new but, everytime I try to look up or find notebooks with that heavy of paper, it just misses the mark or just isn’t thick enough. Anyone know of any notebooks that have nice study pages that don’t bleed much ?

High quality a5 notebook without pouch at the end

Basically the title.
After years of shitty notebooks and cheap pens I made the switch and started to use a fountain pen and lately a Leuchtturm a5 blanco for journaling and a Moleskin for weekly planning. For the weekly planning I could see a reason for the little pouch / holder at the last page / cover, but for the journaling not really and it just adds this little extra bulk (first world problem, I know, but IF there is a possibility to not have it, I'd gladly do so).
Are there any notebooks with comperable quality paper but without that end pouch?
PS: don't want to buy a Travellers and buy only the inlay paper, that format doesn't really work with my needs.

Help finding a notebook

Hey Everyone, I'm pretty new to the subreddit, and need help looking for a notebook. I have found one that is near perfect, but i'm looking for one that has the same black edged pages, but with a grid paper and no embossed quotes on the front. The 200 pages isn't something I care much about, it's just an added bonus.

I realize that may be impossible, so worst case scenario I can just buy this one. I also have no idea if this website is reputable, so any help there would be fantastic.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. I really appreciate it.

Give me some unique, fun, weird uses for notebooks

Every time I google uses for notebooks, I get stuff like journal, to do list, gratitude journal etc. I want unique or unusual things. For example, here are some of mine:

Words and quotes: mostly words, but I write down words I don’t know and their definitions

Tracker notebook: I’ve been timing my commute to see how long it takes on average. I also keep a log of where I find my phone after I’ve lost it, and other things like the last time I replaced my toothbrush.

List notebook: dedicated to “lists of 100” where you have a prompt, sit down and write out 100 things, like “100 ways to be creative”. You can repeat things, and the goal is to just come up with tons of ideas in one sitting. I also do this for things I come across in daily life that seem interesting, like books to read, terms, cool Wikipedia articles, ideas, etc.

Misc notebook: I write or draw out things I reference often, like a tutorial on sewing pouches, or recipes I make a lot. I also use it when I play the NYTimes spelling bee to track my progress. I also take notes on topics I find cool.

Let me know what weird things you do with your notebooks.

Thick Hardcover Leather Notebook Recommendations?

Hi everyone. I've had several "daily drivers" that I've carried around. I have a knack for dropping them from extreme heights or into my food, so I never invest in anything I'm going to be disappointed to see splattered with spaghetti.

HOWEVER, I'm looking to transfer my most important/most referenced notes and thoughts into an archival, good-looking leather (or leather-looking) volume. Basically what I want is something that will blend in with the other hardcover, decorative, foiled leather books on my shelf.

I can't seem to find anything online that's just a lined or dotted leatherbound book, as most people want something they can carry around. Preferably, it would be as many pages as possible and $30 or under. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks so much!

Japanese notebooks and radiation issue

As you know, I am worried that trees, like the red forest in Chernobyl, absorbed radioactivity and made paper out of it. What do you think about Japanese notebooks?

Gift for New Lawyer

Hello friends, My nephew, who is like a son to me, recently got admitted to practice law in NY (following in my footsteps). I'd like to get him a very classy leather bound A5 notebook that will have a pocket for his business cards. I'd also like to engrave his name and words of encouragement into the cover. Any ideas or recommendations? Thanks!

Cheaper alternatives to Moleskin

Hi, I'm a first year Laws student and I need to take physical notes from classes.

I've used Moleskin previously when I studied Architecture and loved them, but they are simply too costly to buy one or more for 48 different classes over the next 6 to 7 years.

It needs to be:

  • Hardcover;
  • Lined;
  • Around A5 or A4 in size;
  • No spirals; and,
  • At least 150 pages.

New notebook cover

Inside is an old ecosystem notebook and will probably remain inside the cover when full. The cover isn’t really well suited for normal A5 sized notebooks. Paired with a TWSBI Diamond fountain pen and I’m ready to go.

New format for Midori Hibino’s 2 page spread : Dream Log/Morning pages 📑💕

I am constantly switching up my notebooks/planners trying to find the most efficient system. In my previous post featuring my Hibino I was using it as a daily planner but I found myself not fully using the second page. The past few days I have been recording my dreams on the first page and then doing my morning writing for the current day on the second page. This is a much better use of the space & I am enjoying it very much 🥰 Something about the Hibino feels very personal. Went back to using my hobonicchi techo for my day planner.

Just wanted to share, any other Hibino users out there? How do you use your pages?

Custom Sized Notebook Options

Hello Friends,

I have a notebook that has a separate cover. I'm running out of pages and am looking to replace the "notebook" part. A quick measure suggests a 15.5cm x 20cm x 1cm sized notebook.

Looking online and I can't seem to find one off the shelf. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to potentially get some custom cut notebooks to these specs?

Thank you in advance!

All in one notebook or dedicated notebooks??

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a notebook conundrum and could really use your advice! So, here's the deal: I've got a serious case of perfectionism, and it's making it tough for me to decide on the right notebook setup. Whenever I start jotting things down, I find myself torn between the idea of having one catch-all notebook for everything under the sun – you know, recipes, journaling, to-do lists, course notes, book quotes, you name it – and the urge to go super-specific with separate notebooks for each topic.

On one hand, the all-in-one approach seems convenient, but then I see folks raving about the benefits of dedicated notebooks for different areas of life. For instance, having a recipe book, a literary analysis and quotes journal, a planner for to-do lists, and more. Plus, I'm also using Notion to manage passwords and reminders.

What do you think? Any tips or personal experiences to share?

Looking for a Substitute to my Leuchtturm with thinner/more paper

Is there a notebook out there that's basically the leuchtturm but with thin (tomoe river paper-like) paper and more pages per notebook?

I have researched various brands that carry thin, tomoe river paper, but they all seem to have soft/cardboard covers. Where should I look?

((For those who are unfamiliar with leuchtturm I'm looking for a notebook with 1. thin paper 2. hardcover 3. around 5x8 in but i'm not too worried about that ))
