Everyone here seems fairly experienced with journaling and memo books, so I wanted to get some feedback on what people like or don’t like about Field Notes.
My main point of interest: the inside covers. I feel they have quite a nice layout, though, I find it’s filler information and so it feels a little crowded. Do people like the inside covers? If not, why and what would you like to see?
First in/out for 2025
I’m a terrible fan of Field Notes because I never know which book is in what collection, also I’m traveling and for some reason I grabbed the same book to carry with me.
So I keep having this problem in which every few months the cover and eventually the whole thing starts to come apart (see photo). I do use the cover as a wallet for daily use but I was wondering if there was a better cover I could get that would help protect it more? I would like to archive my journals better like I see here on the subreddit. I saw the Lochby Pocket Journal looked nice, but I want to consider all my options first before getting it. Thank you in advance for the advice!
So, I started writing in my Field Notes every single day since the new year started, and it he been so helpful with decluttering my brain. However, my normal g-to pens have just not been the best lately. Maybe it's me, I'm not sure. I am a huge fan of the Uni-Ball One pens but it skips like crazy! I have had the most luck with the Zebra Z-Grip Flight, but it just isn't as dark as I like it to be. I do have one issue though, I write like a lefthanded person but I am right-handed. So I'm almost always smudging my writing. I did order some One P's that actually should be here today so I'll report back, but what have you had the most luck with? Should I bite the Bullet and buy the Space pen?
Thanks!
I'm wondering if anyone can post any DDC Sheaths they have that have aged/acquired a patina. I'm just curious to see what they look like after some wear. Thank you!!
Just over six weeks with the Deadest. Held up great in the Stuff Sheath!
Can anyone recommend a small ballpoint pen I can place in my front pocket alonside my beloved Field Notes? I know the Fisher Space bullet pen is popular, but for some reason it doesn't write smooth enough for my tastes. Thanks in advance!
Happened to run into these on the website. Wonder when we will see it go live. I gotta get my hands on the Chicago Hometown Series.

Happy to have found these OOP packs at a bookshop today. It’s almost a shame to use these beauties!
the birch might be a fall release, but the stark white feels fitting for the brutal cold we’ve had around here lately (though im sure a blank canvas like that’ll get stickerbombed before long)
Always carry a notebook just like Leonardo da Vinci said.
for those of y’all with the “irregular issues” of DDC field notes how are you all going about getting them for retail???
Out of interest, how do you use your calendar? This is my first time receiving one, and I want to use it well.
Just sharing how well my Bellroy Notebook Cover is breaking in - 8 years and counting. All the stitching, seams, etc. are good as new after years of EDC in pockets and bags. My Field Notes typically stay in there 1-2 months and the covers come out softened up/broken-in, but otherwise pristine for archiving. Thoughts?
I made this cheeky wallpaper to use on my Pixel Fold - hope y'all enjoy!
Staples day and my cover drawing is done.
