I know that the annual survey starts in February and stays open for about a week. Does anyone know how to get alerted when it starts? I want to provide feedback on the price increases this year along with the drop in paper quality.
Please use this post for the following:

Hobochini cousin monthly spread is almost ready,,can’t wait to start the new month.
Hello, y'all! I've been looking through the sub to see if anyone had asked this question, but the replies seemed geared towards clips/index/tabs that work for one page (or 2 at most), which makes sense since the posts were about ways to keep their page.
In my case, I got my Hobonichi Cousin yesterday, so I wanted to keep the January pages out of the way by holding them together, and I also wanted something to hold the pages between the current month and week. I've tried clips (metal clips, acrylic clips, paper clips) and they work BUT... that small bunch of pages look (and flip) weird when I turn to the first 2 pages being held by the clip (I hope that made sense...) 😓
I can't be the only that wants to group several pages together, right...? So I wanted to ask, does anyone have any tips they could share for this, please??
EDIT: I forgot to mention, I've also tried a magnetic clip, but the magnet didn't handle that many pages well.
wanted to share one of my final January pages in my cousin I was trying to keep relatively simple, that I really really ended up loving :p :p
This is my first year using a hobonichi planner and I’m so glad I purchased one, even though I bought it late. I’m so happy that I’m this consistent with journaling and my future self too, because she’ll get all of this to look back on. Can’t wait to keep journaling for February!
finally found the format that works for me ✨ as a first time hobonichi user, it honestly feels overwhelming to try all the formats i’ve seen online and use all the stickers i have lol
i saw this ocean washi and bts’ spring day came to mind! after a month, i finally have a spread i’m happy about 😝
hello february! ☁️🌊🌼
I’m new to the hobonichi planner and I am still trying to figure out my favorite/best way to organize the layout for the weekly spreads… I’m a college student with a busy schedule and a lot of assignments… I love stickers and decorating but I do very minimal decorations like that so I can still have space for other stuff. Can people comment pictures of good layouts that work for them?? Please and thank you🤞
I’m very obsessed with the texture of the paper 🎀 I got just a hobonichi A6 graphed notebook inside but may upgrade to a cousin next year!
Hello again everyone. So, how did your no-buys or low-buys go this month? Please share your successes, failures and reflections in the comments! I'd especially love to hear about anything you found that helped you stick to your goals. Also, is anybody extending their no-buy into February? Let's be no-buy buddies again.
[This post got quite long. If you don't care that much about my life happenings/"no-buy journey", feel free to skip to the ÷÷÷÷÷ at the end. No hard feelings.]
Before I share how I did with the no-buy, let me apologise for the lack of mid-month check-in post. It was 90% done on the 16th. But before I got around to posting it, offline life took me on a rollercoaster. To make a painful story short: I had an outing I got sick on and then I nearly lost a family member. They're still with me and my family is healing slowly, but Reddit understandably ceased to be a priority for a bit. Still, I wanted to at least do this wrap-up post. I hope you all had a much nicer first month of the year. Here's to a kind and gentle February.
Anyway, back to the point of the post.
So how did my no-buy go? Well, I think "I did okay" about sums it up. I didn't exactly nail it because I knowingly drove the proverbial cart off the track right before the finish line, but in light of how my month went I'm still pretty happy with my results - and even proud of myself. ^^
I didn't buy any jewellery or video games, which I'm quite happy about. And I only got tempted once, which tells me that these are no-/low-buy categories I'll be keeping locked in for February.
For most of January I also did fine with stationery. I did buy one banned item (a planner cover), but with Christmas money from my uncle so very technically that was still a Christmas gift from 2024. I'm gonna dock myself some success points for it though, because it was still an impulse purchase. I do love that cover A LOT, so at least I chose well. ;P
Then my Week From Hell happened and to be quite honest; that made me give up on the no-buy early. I didn't completely trash it, but I did buy some stationery stuff on the 29th and 30th. It was pretty much retail therapy/a reward for surviving what was genuinely one of the worst weeks of my life. I really wanted some "happy mail" to look forward to after that.
Weirdly I'm still kinda proud of my choices though. I already knew that I'd likely be buying some stationery once the Hobonichi Spring releases dropped, so to me those purchases felt less like breaking the no-buy and more like moving my Spring release order up.
Of course that's just me rationalising away! I definitely tanked the no-buy at the end. In full possession of all my faculties and all that.
BUT instead of just blindly filling my cart with every "new shiny" I wanted, blowing past my budget and probably definitely ending up with stuff I'd barely use, I actually spent some time seriously reflecting on all the items I "wanted". And then I decided not to get like 95% of them! I didn't even cave on most of the ones I actually wanted for real once the first hype cooled. Because I realised that most of those items were still A) way too expensive to buy "just 'cause" and B) also likely not what I'd actually use functionally.
Instead I went for some cheaper alternatives - and I'm really happy with those choices. Sure, ultimately they're items I don't need too. But whatever I bought for the Spring release was going to be a luxury/indulgence either way, and it still felt good to go from a cart worth 300+€ for only myself to spending 150€ on an order that includes gifts for people.
Is that still expensive? Heck yeah. But past me wouldn't have done that! Past me would have blindly bought all that stuff for 300€. And then probably not opened the package in time to return anything I bought out of shame.
So while to others this likely doesn't seem special (and a lot of people probably don't see spending 150€ as any kind of financial win)... This is honestly kind of big to me. I feel like I successfully beat the dark impulsive side of my ADHD for once. Which is especially big at a time when I'm still emotionally reeling and crying at random whenever certain memories crop up.
Sure, I did it by still giving in to my inner loot goblin and buying nothing would have been better. But I stayed within budget and I'm really really looking forward to my stuff coming in. It's actually going to be Happy Mail and I probably won't need to return a single thing. And compared to past-me's Box of Shame, that's not too shabby.
[insert the "growth - we love to see it" meme here]
If you read all that; bless. I hope you got a little something out of it and thank you for your time.

With that whole saga told: How did you all do?Does anyone want to join me for No-Buy Round Two: Electric Bogaloo? Let me know in the comments, please. If there's enough interest once more, I will make two check-in posts again. Mixed with some planner show-and-tell if I can manage, so they're not so repetitive.
Personally I'm gonna buy some pencil boards today from the Hobonichi Spring release (and one roll of washi tape if I'm being honest/realistic), but after that the no-buy is back on for me! I have a major no-buy derailment to make up for after all. Let's see if I can redeem myself and stick it out for the whole 27 days this time. It's a shorter month, so it's gonna be easy, right? (Famous last words... ^^'
)
May February be nice to you and full of only good, intentional purchases well within your budget. And happy planning and journaling. <3
This is my first month in a hobonichi. This month I wanted to celebrate all of my favorite things. So this is a calendar view of every favorite thing I celebrated this month! It’s not perfect and I learned a lot about using this planner but mostly I had a blast doing all of my favorite things. I am looking forward to next month’s new theme!
Just daily happenings for each day of January.
No poems this year, sorry guys lol. Please enjoy discussing the spring release below!
EDIT: And remember you can always join our Discord for further discussion!
Okay… how many covers in your collection? I tend to collect them as collectibles, so my number is incredibly, embarrassingly high. I think it’s around 50 🫣collected since 2019. In my defense, many have been given to me as gifts! 😬 These are all for my a6 planner, I don’t use a cousin. So how about everyone else?
Hello I have been eying Hobonichi Cousin planners for a bit. I splurged and bought one from a seller and received the smaller techno one from a couple years ago. I was unable to get my money back so I am looking to see if anyone has a Cousin (full year or split) from a previous year they don’t use and are willing to sell. I don’t have too much to spend on another planner but figured for what I want (journaling space and work planning) an out of date one would probably be my only option.
Thank you.
Hello! I'm looking for 2024 and 2019 Hobonichi pens! If anyone is selling their or want to trade for the 2025 one please let me know!
