I’m overwhelmed and don’t know where to start

In April, I brought a “Scribbles That Matter” bullet journal, and I haven’t used it yet, because I’m super intimidated and don’t know how to use it. I’ve tried to look for online guides, but most are just reviewing the functionality of the book, the aesthetic, the paper quality, etc. I would like to understand what the table is in the beginning—I’m assuming it’s an index, and how can I use that to reference other things, I would like examples of what to label, etc. I feel overwhelmed because I’m constantly having racing thoughts and trying to remember random information I find important throughout the day, or I have some goals to achieve, and tasks to do.. I thought it’d be helpful to get all that down (pen to paper) but I’m ending up stressing myself even more on how to do this efficiently. If anyone has any guides, or tips, or specific videos that discuss exactly how to fill in the boxes and how to use the journal for tasks/goals but also long form journaling, I would really appreciate it!

A5 dotted notebook with 200-300 pages, pen loop, bookmark ribbons, elastic band, numbered pages, spiral bound

Hey everyone, I've been up and down on Amazon trying to find a Bujo notebook that fits the requirements above. I either find a notebook that fits every criteria but isn't spiral or fits every criteria but doesn't have enough pages or isn't numbered. I want enough pages to last me a year and because it'll be big, I want it to be spiral. I do not care about gsm, I mainly use pencils for my notebooks. Please help

I’m a beginner looking for materials for 2025

Hello, I’m brand new to bullet journaling and I am enjoying it a lot. I want to get a new journal for 2025 but I’m not sure what to get and what brand. I prefer a bigger journal as I have large handwriting.

I also would like pen recommendations. The pens I currently have bleed through a bit and smudge super easily. Any materials you guys can recommend would be extremely helpful!

What things are you tracking?

I feel habit trackers are engaging. So far I'll track (starting in November):

  • groom the cat
  • floss
  • journal
  • programming my own projects
  • study
  • CV send

Most of them are boolean, so I was looking for some inspiration in quantitative item to track.

What are yours?

Stamp suggestions?

I have some dollar store stamps with the page of rubber clear stamps and a clear stamp block, but I think I like the standard kind better.

Looking for suggestions on typical calendar planning stamps with months, numbers, days of the week, etc. What kind have you found that you like?

November monthly log!

I put all my trackers right in my monthly log to be space-efficient and let me see correlations at a glance. I just set up November and it's so aesthetically pleasing to see a nice fresh month spread!

First journal i started!

I finally started my first journal! I never knew what to put in it so I started making summaries of the sermons at church and then putting them in a journal but never dared to start actually writing cause I am always scared I ruin it. So I am doing it with a pencil to erase it if I do mess up! It is in Dutch but I still wanted to share. I dont have a lot of colored markers yet (besides the ones that bleed through the pages like their lives depend on it😃)

Any advice is welcome!

Alternatives to Notebook Therapy?

Hi all! So it's time to order another new bujo and I'm not liking any Notebook Therapy has in stock. I've tried Leuchtturms and used those religiously for years, but after NT I can't go back to that thin of paper. I've found one on Archer & Olive that would suffice but curious if anyone has any other recs. Needing 5mm dot grid, as close to white of paper as possible (another draw back of LT), preferably B5 paper size, and paper thick enough my 12mm Micron pen won't bleed through.

Preparing my first bullet journal

I’m hoping the technical expense log in cooperation with the visual budget tracker will help me be more aware and more mindful with money in the coming year. By filling in squares i get a visual representation of how much I have left for these variable categories. And if for any reason I go over in one category, I color in the corresponding color to take away from another category. Ideally this shouldn’t happen, since I budget with a decent amount of buffer in each category, but you can never be too careful.

Can you use markers in a bujo from Notebook Therapy?

Hi everyone! I want to get into bullet journaling and I really love how the journals from Notebook Therapy look, so i'm considering buying from them.

I am an artist and while i normally draw digitally, i do sometimes draw traditionally and i use Ohuhu markers to color everything in, along with a white Posca for highlights. Does anyone know if Notebook Therapy's bujos can handle Ohuhu markers? Or should i not use those markers directly on the paper?

If not i can always draw illustrations in my sketchbook, cut them out, and place them into the notebook. I prefer to sketch and color directly on paper though, but regardless let me know what your experiences with marker usage is!!

November = Turkey month

I wanted to do a waffle house theme for November and was upset at first when the letters didn't fit properly in the sign. But we found a great alternative! I think I love it even more hahaha

How do you get started?

Purchased my first journal and very excited. I am planning to use it as a planner to track appointments, and to also track short term and long term to-do lists. I’m a huge list girly.

The starter guide included in the journey is very helpful, but thought I would ask the true experts - the users :)

Looking for 2025 Journal

I recently bought an Emoshii Journal from Amazon A5 size. However the paper is just like a glossy shiny feel to it.

It has like 300+ pages which I liked, however the paper is just not to my liking

My 2024 Journal I got from Michaels and I enjoyed it, but I'd like to get something with a few more pages. The paper feels nicer than the newer book I just received. Just don't see myself using it for a Bujo for a year.

I don't know the GSM of the Michaels book as it didn't say. I couldn't see anything online. I'm pretty minimal nothing fancy, but the paper texture just really threw me off on the new book. I'll use it for drawing and random writing but it's not ideal for me for a bullet journal.

Sorry for the ramble. Looking for a nice paper not like a glossy shiny texture Bujo for 2025.
