Loud Music in East

I’m in East by lipstick lounge and I’m hearing incredibly loud music from clearly a decent distance away. Is it Americana fest or is it buds and brews or is something else going on?

Benton TN Speedtrap

Has anyone ever gotten a speeding ticket on the infamous Highway 411 in the tiny town of Benton TN where the speed limit abruptly drops from 55 to 40? I read online that the cops like to camp out at the 40 mph sign and give absolutely no warnings.

Has anyone gone to court for it to plead not guilty? If so, what was your experience like?

I’m thinking about making the trip back to go to court and hoping the cop doesn’t show up (which seems likely with the amount of tickets he probably hands out)

20+ Minute Blackout During Dallas Game?

Did anyone else have a 20+ minute blackout while watching the Dallas game today?

I recorded the game and while watching it, the screen goes black for more than 20 minutes and the game goes from 11:58 in the third quarter to less than one minute left.

Anyone else experience this????

(PS - Flair is stupid and should be optional.)

Ideas for local celebrities for my non-profit's fall festival?

Hello, Nashville!! I run a non-profit called The Pet Pantry, a 501(c)(3) organization which provides emergency pet food assistance to Middle TN pet owners facing financial hardship. We our having a fall festival at Hop Springs in Murfreesboro on Saturday, October 26th from 11am-4pm and we're holding a pet Halloween costume contest. I thought it would be fun to ask some local celebrities to be guest judges, but I'm really not sure who to ask or how to contact them. I've asked Nick Beres from News Channel 5 already, but his son is getting married that day so needless to say, he's not available. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Attaching a flyer for the event here as well in case anyone wants to come by!

Just got shake shack from Broadway and it was basically inedible. Shocked!!! Never had an experience like that at the shack. Just moved to Nashville, is that a bad one or something?

That’s it. It was just so bad I needed to talk about it

Making friends

I’m a 26(f) and I feel like we get to a certain age where making friends is not as easy as when we were young, but I’m curious how y’all meet people (friends or relationships). My interests are pretty much open to anything which makes narrowing it down kind of hard.. I also just moved here like 3 months ago so just wondering if you have any ideas of places/things to do to make new friends! Thanks :)

Farmers market security

I was just at the Nashville Farmers market. They had tons of armed security guards. I go often and generally see 2 police officers there. I counted at least five of these security guards. I was behind two when they got radio intentions they needed to go to another area then met up with a 3rd headed to that area. It was just one and out or what I’m used to. Maybe they had security instead of police due to the Titans game. Anyone have any insight into this?

Nazi stickers at Harding place 711

They were on every pump, most were way worse than this one. They didn’t seem old enough to be from when the last group of nazis were in town, so probably some other POS. And yes, I ripped them all off.

Best roadside assistance companies?

Anyone else fed up with AAA and looking for another option? I have AAA Plus, but they left my husband stranded for hours yesterday- they just never came. I've been with them since 2002 but it seems that their customer service is complete sh!te these days. Are there other options? Is it best to add on a roadside assistance option through car insurance, or are there other companies out there similar to AAA who actually help you when you need help?

Any local orchards that sell fresh cider you would recommend?

We are looking at the orchards in the areas around Nashville, specifically with the intent of getting fresh cider, though we are interested in other aspects like tours and wineries and such. Any places near the city you would recommend?

Grassfed organic meat home delivery

Looking for a local farm that delivers grass-fed organic meat, sausages, bacon etc. La Vergne / Smyrna / Nolensville area.

Don’t mind if there is a price minimum. We usually order every week-two weeks $200-300 worth, but our current farm had dropped the ball a little bit.

Please advise.

ISC 50m pool long course swimming

I really wanted to try swimming long course in the 50m pool in Brentwood/Franklin. Looking at their schedule, though, it doesn't look like there are ever any 50m lap lanes open. Is that right? Does that mean it's not possible to do a solo long course workout at their facility, or am I just misunderstanding how their pool(s) are configured/operated?

Being openly gay in the Nashville suburbs - are people right to be concerned?

I made a post last week in /r/samegrassbutgreener looking into the Nashville suburbs (https://www.reddit.com/r/SameGrassButGreener/comments/1fh0kq4/hows_life_in_the_nashville_suburbs/) . I live in Saint Louis today, and generally speaking I feel comfortable in its suburbs, which I'd say are pretty politically moderate (light red). I figured that the Nashville area would be the same - but people in the thread... well they were VERY negative about the Nashville suburbs, and said that it would not be a safe/comfortable place to me to live as a gay man.

Are people just being overdramatic, or is there real reason to be concerned?

Musical Kudos

I have lived here 65 yrs and only tonight attended my first performance of the Vanderbilt Orchestra in Ingram Hall at the Blair School of Music.

Mahler’s Symphony 1 is a piece I’m very familiar with and love dearly. Tonight’s performance was revelatory. The hall is small and bright so this thing was LOUD. The sound was rich and detailed, and quite frankly, better than I’ve ever heard at the Schermerhorn. The string sound across every section was positively lush. There were some inconsequential uncomfortable entrances in the brass. But that’s true every of orchestra I’ve ever heard, here or in Europe. This was a well prepared orchestra admirably led by Maestro Mussi. Altogether it was the best performance of this piece I have heard.

Do yourself a favor and go out to support this orchestra. Parking is easy. It’s a short walk across the street to the hall. And there’s not a bad seat in the house.

Does anybody else regularly save more than $1 with Kroger fuel points?

So, we earn a lot of fuel points by buying gift cards for places we regularly shop in addition to our regular groceries. On average we have around 2500 to 2700 points per month. So, every few weeks we take all our cars to a kroger gas station and redeem all of our points and sometimes pay as little as 9 cents a gallon (max of 35 gallons). Whenever I mention this to people they have no idea how we are able to redeem more than $1 off per gallon at a time.
Tonight I spent about an hour trying to find out why this is the case and have come up with nothing. There was a mention that some cities participate in unlimited point redemption, but I couldn't verify that. Another source said that at one time there was a glitch in several states that allowed this so happen but the software on the pumps were updated and it no longer works.
Is anybody else able to do this?

Trivia Nights

Hi y’all! I recently moved from Franklin and I’m looking for a good place to do pub trivia. Looking for Tuesday or Thursday. Myself and some others in my group don’t drink, so we’re looking for a place that serves good food, not just good drinks. Preferably around West End.

Thanks!

P.S. sorry if I tagged this post under the wrong category

Best places to eat in Nashville?

I'm trying to find a good quality restaurant. One with a good atmosphere and great food at a semi-decent price. The specific food I'd like to have there would be fish, as I'm a pescetarian. I'd love to hear about your experience. This will also be for a date, so all the more reason I'd like for it to be a nice place
