Hey y’all, I’m living in Florida right now but I’m wanting to start taking weekend trips to town and just hitting the best guitar pulls or open mics I can to meet other writers or anyone for that matter😂. I’m 21 and I’m wanting to make the move someday Id just like to know some folks before I make the jump. Thanks guys
Apologies if this is an obviously question but “usually” a song e even splits, does that mean each writer has the right to his publishing as well? Or is publishing negotiated separately?
Hey guys,
former "professional" musician that is looking to start up a project in the Nashville area. I have a couple of songs written in different genres and am looking for a vocalist to help me finish these songs and/or form a band to write new stuff (I play bass and guitar). I have a home studio and would be open to writing/playing almost any genre as long as the music is good.

If interested shoot me a DM and I can provide more songs of the requested genre!
Hi! Me and my friend have started a discord server for small musicians/producers/songwriters looking to build a community!
We are both diy musicians and we want to find more people like us. Any level of experience is welcome, and if you are just a music fan who likes finding out about new small artists, then we'd love to have you there as well! Here's an invite link to the server, if you happen to see this after it expires you're welcome to message us and we'll send you a new one!

Hey there all! I run the Blue House Band's Monday Night Artist Night (I know that was a mouthful). This is an open mic with a twist... full jam band that will learn your song on the spot! We aim to showcase new artists while giving them a chance to play with a full band, get free professional video and picture, and free house audio (which will be upgraded soon to two lines, one for vocals and one for the band)! Artists are welcome to use any of that material however they like!
We invite artists of all skill levels to come and sign up at any time during the show (the list is random except for the first couple of sign-ups), as well as "professional listeners/music enjoyers" to come check out this unique style of open mic.
It is hosted at the wonderful Vinyl Lounge. Our doors open at 7, show starts around 730 and we run until 10 every Monday!
If you have any other questions please feel free to reach out
I know being a songwriter, a lot of us go to rounds. Do you find them effective? Which rounds do you prefer?
The person harassed by Dan Hagen doesn't live in Tennessee or know Dan at all so very confused why the unnecessary bigotry and violence.. but then some people did some digging last night and found he has a LONG history of harassment and bullying, with criminal charges as recently as October 2022.
Here's this article about his harassment of another local Nashville musician:
DANIEL HAGEN JAILED AFTER MAKING ONLINE THREATS & FALSE ALLEGATIONS AGAINST MUSICIAN ALEX ANGELO
That's from October 26 2022 and it's apparent he hasn't stopped his harassment of others!
Please do pass along to anyone else in Nashville circles who support safety and human rights that Dan Hagen is a violent harassing bigot who will threaten strangers even after having a criminal record 100x longer than his music production record. Won't link for fear of doxxing but his public criminal record is as shocking as his comments.
Thanks Fam!
I'm looking for a iPhone sampler app where I can press a button to hear a sample, but that let's me play samples that are anywhere from 10-60 seconds.
I was going to use this for songwriting. I like using the same workflow in Ableton, where I record different versions of the Verses, Bridges, Choruses, etc, and then mix and match different versions to see what sounds good.
I usually write around the house, since my ableton setup is very unergonomic (laptop on a wobbly small glass desk with a 90 degree hard chair). So the voice app on the iPhone is my tool of choice, until I get something I really like and then I setup a makeshift recording space for ableton.
I end up with 50 or so voice message recordings of the various parts, and good parts get lost within all the clutter - so was thinking some kind of iPhone sampler might be a good way to rearrange the best takes and find the best combination.
(Or if anyone has other songwriting tips for how you organize your ideas, I'm all ears :) )
Im planning to go to Nashville over the summer to make musical connections and collab with like minded artists. I’m wanting to make the most of my time there and was hoping you guys could help me. What is the best thing for an aspiring young artist to do while in Nashville? Where do I go to find groups of people I can work with? Is there anything cool I can experience while in Nashville?
