Semi-fine dining for group of 20?

Hi!

We are hoping to find a restaurant within roughly 20 minutes of downtown Nashville for all of our guests that are coming to town for our wedding, for our rehearsal dinner. We want somewhere that gives a classier vibe over casual, but not so fancy that we’re paying more than about $65 per person. My in-laws are paying and have given us a budget to work with of about $65 per person for about 20 people. I’d like somewhere that it wouldn’t be weird or out of place to wear a nice dress to, and nowhere that could be described as honkytonk haha. I’m leaning towards somewhere that at least has steak option or two on the menu. But I’m having trouble finding somewhere that doesn’t have a food and bev minimum of at least $2000, which just doesn’t work for the budget we’ve been given. Any ideas are welcome!

What's the best way to get to and from the titans game Sunday?

Really the title. Just totally unfamiliar with the area. And not sure what the best place to park and walk to stadium or any public transit? Will be a family of 4. Two kids 11 and 16.

Bonus best place for Nashville hot chicken? Maybe just must have food we need to try while in town for the weekend?

Looking for best places to eat and visit

Going to Nashville for my first time October 16th-21st. Looking for some low key good restaurants or hidden gems. I don’t post on tik tok or anything so I won’t share your secret spots. I heard there is a really good chicken spot but no one has given the name of said place. Interested in visiting some places as well that are out there. And how is the weather out there in the middle of October

Need Bar Recommendation: Pop/Dance live music

Hey Gang - We are traveling with some friends that have never been to Nashville.

Saturday night, (Sept 14), they want us to take them to Broadway Street, but they are really hoping to find a band that plays dance tunes (anything 70's-current) that has a more pop/r&B genre.

Any recommendations?

Another ‘where should we stay’ post

Hi All,

So, the wife and I are going to visit during thanksgiving week.

My wife only wants to stay at luxury places and we can afford basically afford to (for the most part besides like ritz Carlton level places). At first I was set on staying at the Gaylord Opryland Resort, but then I wondered if it made more sense to stay at one of the luxury places like the Westin or JW Marriott or something like that.

If we want to hangout a lot and see all those live music and bars, does it make sense to stay at one of the other luxury places that are closer or is the Opryland cool enough to stay there the whole time and Uber around?

Thanks ahead of time! 🙏

Update: Thanks guys, decided to go with the W!

Bachelor party activities

Already posted on the main Nashville sub and was directed here:

Alright guys I know there’s a lot of these posts on here and I’m sorry for adding one more, but they’re mostly years old so I’m looking for some more current info.

I’m coming to Nashville with 5 friends next weekend (September 19-22). So far, the plan is to go to a concert on Thursday at the ascend amphitheater (My Morning Jacket with Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats), go on a hike Friday or Saturday morning, and go bar hopping possibly all three nights.

Aside from bar hopping, what else is there to do for a group of guys in their early-mid 20s? Also, what’s the best hike in the area that can be done in a few hours? Nothing crazy challenging as a couple of our group are pretty out of shape.

Could be cool to go to a strip club as I’ve never been to one, but it’s not absolutely essential for my experience if there’s none worth going to.

Again, sorry to add another post to the pile of bachelor party posts but thanks so much for any info!

Any safe bars for a transgender woman to visit solo on a Friday or Saturday night?

Title pretty much sums it up. Looking to get out of my hotel room for a drink or two and maybe some live music.

Day trip anniversary

My wife and I are celebrating our 2nd anniversary at the beginning of October and I want to do something nice for a day trip. We have our babysitter from 8-5 so I need some ideas for a fun day time activity and a good place to eat. We’re only 2 hours away from Nashville. We’re not big drinkers, may have a craft beer during lunch but I don’t want something centered around booze. I’d really like to do a class or maybe something we could book and do together. I was going to do a murder mystery dinner but it goes too late. If anybody has any ideas for activities and great food I’d appreciate the insight!

Broadway help

Trying this again because they took this down in the Nashville subreddit. To be clear, I live here, just don’t go downtown very much (ever) so that’s why I’m asking.

Hey Nashville friends! I could use some help coming up with a fun plan for a colleague who is coming to Nashville for the first time next weekend.

She’s based in New York and is coming to my work to do some training, but also said she would love to go out at least once while she’s here. She specifically said “It’s hard being a country music fan in New York City. I need to be on Broadway while I have the chance.”

Now the thing is, downtown and Broadway is not my scene, so I have no idea where to take her that will scratch the Nashville country itch without making me absolutely miserable. So basically not Kid Rock’s. Any places you would recommend?

Would I have a good time going to a bar alone?

Pins Mechanical looks really cool and I'd love to give it a shot, but I've felt weird about going places alone before and since I don't know anyone in the area I'm worried it will just be a waste of time / regret. Anyone have any experience with going here solo?

Forgot to mention as it is probably relevant, I'm a guy in my very late 20's.

Relocating from soflo after recent visit

Need help- long story short:

-26F living in Fort Lauderdale fl, just moved here from st pete but originally from rural Iowa. -my LD bf lives in Huntsville, AL. We are looking to close the gap soon, my lease ends in March. He's staying in Huntsville but I don't want to live there so Nash seems like a good compromise to be closer but also not limit my opportunities -I work in marketing and hopefully will be remote, but also looking to grow my lash extensions and esthetics career eventually.

SO- thoughts?? I'm used to the hot weather, tourism and the awful traffic but please give me the reality. Would I regret it?? I love the western lifestyle but I feel like that's just a big tourist front.. I am a Midwest girl at heart and Nash feels like it could be a happy medium

I'm looking at studio apartments in the Germantown/salemtown area but also love the abberly and Presley... HELP!

Late October with Family

Hey all - done some searching and have found a little direction but would love more real-world insight. Planning a trip with the family (2 kids between 6-11, so not super littles) and looking for a hotel near to downtown/Broadway as well as some family-friendly activities.

Would love to find a place with an indoor pool, but doesn't look like there are any Great Wolf Lodge-like options in the area and most places have outdoor pools. We're used to cooler temperatures so we're probably less sensitive to late-October weather than locals, but not sure if places with outdoor pools shut them down for the season or have a "closed in outdoor temps under 80" sort of rule (yes, I jest, but I've seen it)

Any advice/opinions welcome! Thank you much!

Just a few questions planning a trip!

I’m doing a quick trip at the end of September and I have a few questions! What’s the temperature like at night? More specifically, would it be too cold to wear a skirt walking outside at night? What are some must try bars, restaurants, and breakfast places? What places should we see/go during the day? Thanks!!

Halloween in Nashville

Hello everyone!

My friends and I were thinking about going to Nashville for Halloween and I just wanted to ask about some things.

  1. Halloween falls on a Thursday this year, based on that, would it be a good idea to go to Nashville the weekend before or after? Which weekend will be more busy?

  2. Recommendations on good foodie spots, clubs, bars, or anything of the sort?

  3. Would it be better to get an Airbnb or a hotel in the heart of Nashville? Looked at both pricing and they’re honestly similar at this point, so not sure which option would be better.

  4. Lastly, how’s the weather down there around that time of year? I’m from michigan so it’s gets really cold around Halloween and we have to end up wearing jackets over our outfits :_) so I would just like to know if I should bring a jacket, coat, or anything of the matter that can fill up suitcase. Looked it up online, it looks like you guys stay around 60s range around that time of year. Figured I’d ask on here just in case anyone had anything more to add about the weather.

I’d really appreciate anyone’s help on this. We appreciate it.

Coming to Nashville 9/13/24-9/15/24

Hey y’all,

My wife and I are spending our ten-year wedding anniversary in Nashville. We’ve been once before and loved it, but didn't get to spend much time there.

We’re staying at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and are thinking about going to the Grand Ole Opry Saturday night.

Really just looking for any recommendations for fun things to do in that general vicinity.

We like karaoke, live music and good food. If there are any shows in town Saturday that are worth going to over the Opry, that’d be great too. Maybe something that doesn’t show up on Google?

Thanks!

Late night arrival to early afternoon departure towards Paris. 2-3 top areas to check out?

First time in Tennessee, wife and I visiting some family near Paris. We arrive in Nashville late tonight and we’re trying to decide how we spend our morning tomorrow before heading out of town. We’ll have anywhere from 2-6 hours of time to kill depending on how we feel (we’re arriving earlier than other family visiting).

Interests include coffee, thrifting, good (casual) food, wide music taste, general downtown strolling activities. Anything that we can get a funny picture standing next to.

Thanks in advance! Excited to visit.

Things to do in the evenings without drinking?

I'm going back to Nashville with a friend, he's 21 but in the process of getting another ID after losing his.

We're going to be out in the evening around 6pm or later and I was trying to think of places we could go where it's not a bar that's 21+ after whatever hour.

So far I thought of top golf, seeing if any thrift stores were open, and just finding a neighborhood to walk around in.

This is a little silly but if anyone has any helpful suggestions I'd be very greatful.

Best bar top brunch in surrounding area

Does not need to be near broadway but within about 20 minutes of downtown. Looking for a good view with good eats before we head home for the weekend.

Self-promotion policy

There has been some great discussion in the posts/comments on this sub! I'm really excited to see this sub take shape.

I do need to address self-promotion in the comments. Going forward, I will need to remove comments like this. As an alternative, I will include all of the self-promotion links in the AutoMod post. Links that promote Nashville events and tourist information will be accepted for new entries via a message to the moderators.

Best place for a crew meal tomorrow night

Hey y’all

I am trying to sort out a place for my crew tomorrow night. It’s for 14 people, mostly made up of hungry guys. Two places I’ve looked at so far require pre fix menus which is not the vibe. We prefer something downtown. Any thoughts on a good spot? Somewhere nice is preferred, but not TOO upscale. We usually do steakhouses but I’d rather maybe a step below that in price. $30-50 a person for food. Let me know if need to provide any more info for good suggestions!

Thanksgiving week things to do

My husband and I have both sides of our family coming out for the week of Thanksgiving this year. We’re relatively new to the area (less than a year) and want to know some fun things to do with them, ideally fall themed. Good little coffee shop/food spots, events, pumpkin patches? Places that highlight the charm of Tennessee in the fall. I also think I saw the Zoo is holding a light show? They’re here for a full 7 days and Google isn’t totally helping. What do you think? Any advice?

Parking for concerts that’s not outrageous?

I’m going to be in nashville for 2 concerts coming up. 1st one is on a Sunday night at the Ryman. 2nd one, Friday night at Brooklyn Bowl. I don’t mind having to walk some distance, just don’t want to get ripped off or end up with a ticket. Anyone know decent garages/lots?
