Can you find the vault tec present?
The Fallout weaponry debate is one of the most stupid ones in Fallout history. Fallout 1-3 and NV had Desert Eagles, M4 Carbines, M249’s, G3’s, P90’s, AUG’s and many more. No one complained about them making the game “generic” or “bland”. The energy weapons were and are still retrofuturistic, as they should be. But that is apparently not enough for some players. They want everything to look like the Assault rifle from Fallout 4.
Fallout 4 and 76 turned the previous subtlety of ‘50s retrofuturism up to 11. The game was turned into an fps with reduced rpg elements. It’s not that modern weapons don’t belong in Fallout. Fallout 4 does not belong in Fallout.
Before Fallout 4, the pre-war culture was acknowledged in the form of energy weaponry, signs and posters, vehicles, buildings and such, but never took the center stage of Fallout, until 4 came around.
What was previously a remnant of the old world is now a living, thriving thing, which was never the original intent for what this specific post-apocalypse should be like. We went from fighting against tougher, more numerous opponents and fearing radiation and even dying from it after 150-in game days to bombarding mutants with a nuclear launcher while "I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire" plays on your Pip-boy and your HUD chimes and bleeps about funny 1950’s references. Naturally, whacky weapons fit this tone far better than a Beretta M9.
An Uzi or AK-47 looks so fitting in Fallout 1-3 and NV, which makes sense, given that there are more important things in the harsh reality of the wasteland than keeping a 200 year old culture alive by using impractical weapons and outdated slang. Fallout 4 feels stagnant and unimersive, because everyone runs around with goofy WW1-WW2 era-weapon hybrids.
Take the Fallout 4 Assault rifle for example: I will gladly take an M16 over that ugly WW1-era retcon trash anytime. “But it’s for power armor, that’s why it's bulky”.
The M2 Browning Heavy Machine gun has been in use with the US military since 1933. They could have easily converted such a model for power armor usage instead of using an ugly design that looks like a Maxim gun forced itself on an Prydwen airship and the resulting baby fell into a vat of FEV.
Even weirder, the previous Assault rifle was an AR-pattern rifle. Why swap the beloved Service rifle for a universally hated design that retcons pre-war American weapons lore?
How is this even a debate? Fallout 5 should have modern firearms with chipped wooden or scratched metal furniture because it is lore-friendly, has been done before by the best games in the series, looks miles better and makes more sense.
Change up the atmosphere/feel/tone/lore to be more like 1-3 and NV and modern guns WILL work.
I remember i tried "Capital Punishment" modpack, downloaded it from Wabbajack, enjoyed it, but i after i moved from Fallout 3 to FNV it started lagging pretty hard (probably some mods conflict and annihilated my fps)
Sad tho, really enjoyed gunplay and optimization (before i moved to FNV) in that modpack, downloaded on top some B42 mods (leaning, melee bash etc.) to make combat feel good, really would like to find something similar or better in other modpacks, so any modpack/modlists you've enjoyed and want to share ?
Note I am saying that the Salem militia is a part/allied to the minutemen and also that the traders in nuka world are also allied with them and the reason Quincy is blue is because of the creation club war paint dlc which you can retake them

So for the first time ever i have been playing fo4 for the last few months and it pales in comparison to new vegas and even fo3 in some extent, it lacks the nuances and depths of new vegas's quest, writing and factions it all feels watered down and bland where it worked in fo3 as fo3 is structured like the hero's journey about good vs evil based on joseph campbell's hero with a thousand face but fo4 in my opinion din't have anything intresting things that it did to expand the lore aside from the gameplay.
So, I've been wanting to do a Vault 77 cosplay for next year's Halloween, but I'm kinda new to the cosplaying world (I've only done one cosplay in my entire life, and it was a kinda basic one). I've been thinking of getting a Vault tec jumpsuit from the internet but I dunno if they're okay or not, so I've been thinking about asking this subreddit if anyone here has done any fallout cosplays and can give me some tips? (Not only about the jumpsuit, tbf any tip is well appreciated for me(
I just downloaded Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas off of Steam, the ultimate editions.
I’ve played them before and they’re some of my favorite games of all time, but I want to spice them up a bit.
Speaking as an absolute noob, how do I mod Fallout 3 and New Vegas? Where should I go to install mods? How do I know which mods are safe and won’t break my game? How do I uninstall mods if need be?
What are some must have mods for Fallout 3 and New Vegas in your opinion?

I've been asking this question for many years without finding an answer, so I created this subreddit to see what you think.
Bethesda has had the Fallout franchise in its possession for years and created gems like the memorable Fallout 3 that saved the franchise from its death or the much loved and hated Fallout 4 that is more of a shooting game with a vaguely bad roleplay involved. (F76 is a good online game and I don't hate it)
Bethesda when it put all its developers into creating one of the most important RPGs of all, which would be the elder scroll V: Skyrim. They also wanted to release a new Fallout to keep the fans happy.
Then Obsidian, who is the father of the 2 best Star Wars RPG games (Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2), was in charge of the new Fallout to be released and thus New Vegas was born (which when it was released on day 1, the game was broken with many bugs and errors) considered the best or one of the best fallout pof below the 2 originals
we know new vegas quite well, a game that has to offer decent RPG gameplay and shooting gameplay
Here comes my question and many will surely discuss this, is Fallout New Vegas the spiritual successor to Black Isle Studios' Fallout? (Fallout 1 and fallout 2)

I don’t necessarily have anything to say about this but I just recently realized how good a money maker caravan is in NV. There’s no limit to how many caps you can wager, it’s relatively skill based, and you don’t have to convert anything to form chips to caps (which is just an ok plus). Idk just wanted to maybe start a discussion🤷.
MOD Version Request for TTW
Hey guys, i was wondering if its possible to have a different version of Tales of Two Wastelands.
a version that only plays FALLOUT 3 GOTY using NV Engine and some features from NV like weapon wheels.
but the starting stats/traits/perks, level cap, difficulty, gameplay etc is based on authentic FALLOUT 3 GOTY ?
i really wanted to play FALLOUT 3 GOTY with better engine and performance and features but i did not want to play New Vegas. just FO3. is that possible for the devs of TTW ?

Need help getting FO4 to work
I play on Xbox one and have a disc and it is in perfect condition. I am a game pass member and could just play the digital version of the game, but the newest version is riddled with bugs on Xbox one and basically un playable. I had this idea that if I turned my Xbox off the internet and put in the disc, it would download the oldest version of fo4, thus rendering it playable, bc the old version isn’t riddled with nearly as many bugs as the newest version. Only problem is when I try to download it, it only downloads to to 80 percent than it says, “installation stopped”. I haves tried clearing the cache and even resetting my Xbox. Any ideas on what I can do? Thanks.

I'm playing the far harbor dlc for the first time and I just met DiMa. After he asked the earliest thing the player can remember, and after hearing the answer, I'm starting to think the player is a synth.
