Questions about Fallout 2 mechanics.

Does entering sneak before stealing improve your odds of successfully stealing in Fallout 2?

Also I'm struggling to find any information on how melee accuracy works, which stat improves your odds of hitting with a melee weapon, is it just the melee skill?

hey everyone, I just wanted to let you all know that I too was very frustrated with just about near constant world map encounters. So, I made a mod to not only correct this issue but also to be able to control ALL of your companions in combat(with an additional file if you don't want to control all of your companions in combat). Fallout 1.5 Resurrection Question

Hello folks, I just discovered this gem, and having a great time playing it. Unfortunately, seems that this one was not that popular at the time, and there is very little information on the internet regarding walkthroughs.

I am stuck in Sedit, trying to poison the Cheriff. Do you know how I can get inside his house?

Edit: So with enough speech you can bribe the guard to swap the bottle for 2000 caps. Or let you in for 500. But when you pass the gates everyone start shooing you. So I went for the bribe. Anyway reward is 4000 caps

Help with Fallout-CE development

I was working on a Webassembly port but got stuck, so I’m looking for a developer’s help. Basically, I’m able to get the mouse working ingame but when I try to click on any UI elements (like buttons), it just doesn’t work…

Easy way to get about 5k XP in Fallout 1?

Replaying the game rn as I felt underwhelmed with my first one months ago as it was my first Fallout game so I didn’t really grasp everything, and I’m level 7 and killed the Master. I’m trying to get to level 8 to increase my repair skill (it’s at 68 now) so that I can repair the brotherhood armor because for some reason the game tells me that I lack skill

New Bust the Skulz gang Issue: Guard’s won’t leave the Skumm Pitt and it’s stuck at 3 AM.

I’ve been looking all over for a fix for this but apparently I’m the only one who has had this problem. So I stole the Urn from Neal by waiting in the bar until morning when he was in the back. I showed it to Vinnie and told him to give me time to prepare for killing Neal. Went to Lars, told him about the plan, and initiated the raid. Vinnie attacked Neal, and Neal attacked Vinnie, initiating the fight. While fighting the guards and Neal only attack the Skulz. And when the Skulz are all dead, nobody attacks me or my companions. I give the Urn back to Neal and I check my inventory to make sure it’s gone.

So it seems like everything went smoothly. Even though apparently I did everything that other people advise not doing to avoid being attacked or the fight not starting. I finished the kill Gizmo quest, I talked to Shark beforehand, and I didn’t return Neal’s urn before talking to Lars. Granted I’m not playing with the Fixt patch and apparently those precautions are more necessary there.

That’s when the problem started. When I stay on that screen and wait till morning or noon, Neal would start to freak out and run to the front door of the bar and pound on the locked door. This happens even when I’m not in the bar. Granted, Tycho is (for some reason he’s stuck with his gun out and won’t move). And when I leave the screen to the south and come back, it automatically sets the time to 3 AM and spawns all the Junktown Guards at the Skum Pitt. Even if I talk to Lars again to close out the quest. They don’t do anything but stand there and threaten the dead Skulz. Yeah it doesn’t even respawn the Skulz. It’s just the guards but they won’t leave and it causes the screen to be in a state where I can’t do anything.

So I experimented a bit. I waited until noon and left town entirely. Whether I walk around the world map for a couple of days or just leave and come back immediately I got the same results. If I leave Junktown and enter again via either the Entrance or the Crash House screens and then go up to the Casino screen, both changes. It still sets the time to 0300 and spawns the guards. If I enter the town via the Casino screen it won’t set the time to 0300, instead it will be the time that it was when you entered, but the guards will still be there.

I still don’t know what caused this so if anyone does please leave a comment so this bug can be avoided entirely, however I did find a solution to get it to stop happening if you find yourself in this mess. First reload a save from before talking to Lars and initiating the fight. You might be able to get away with reloading a save in the middle of the fight just so long as it’s before the combat ends. I don’t know and don’t want to risk going back to find out. Either way, after the fight, WAIT. Wait for all the guards to leave the screen. They may circle around the bar once or twice before they do so but they will eventually. DO NOT save with the intention to reload after the fight until after all the guards leave the screen. If you do reload a save after the fight with the guards still on the map, it may break their AI and cause them to walk around the bar forever. You need them to leave the casino screen. After this is when I have the urn back to Neal. It may or may not be necessary Idk.

Now go down to the Entrance screen and talk to Lars to finish the quest. DO NOT then go back up to the Casino screen from here even if you wait until daylight first, it will still set the time to 0300 and spawn the guards and now that you’ve ended the quest, there is now no way to undo this bug and you’re stuck with it without reloading a save. What you want to do instead is wait until daylight (0700) so you can leave town. Then enter it again from the Casino screen. It has to be the Casino screen either of the others will not undo the bug. After I did all that, the screen did not reset my time and no guards had spawned. I double checked that it had worked by exiting the screen to the south and coming back. It worked. Everything was normal.

TL;DR for the last two paragraphs. Wait after the Bar fight for the Junktown Guards to leave the screen. Then talk to Lars at the Guard Station to end the quest. Wait until 0700 to exit the town. Then come back via “Casino.”

Again, hope this helps someone in the same situation I was. If you have any information on how to avoid this altogether please let me know with a reply.

Been trying to become a pornstar for my new playthrough, used drugs to pass some tests for the auditions, but apparently they say i dont have enough sex experience, i have been spamming sex on the cats paw and im still stuck on gigolo, it said i need to have sex 10 times, but i have counted 10 dramatic requests yet im stuck being gigolo...

Not able to return to navarro in fo2 possible bug

I have been to navarro and done the brotherhood quest to obtain the vertibird plans. I also picked up a couple of quests there to kill the deathclaw and fix k9, but now when I return Chris at the gas station just says "you look familiar. Old Chris thinks he's seen you before... Nope, can't be." and there are no dialogue options to convince him otherwise. If I kill him and go through the underground cabin entrance, I'm treat as a hostile intruder despite wearing advance power armor, with or without my companions who are also wearing power armour. So I can't return unless I just go in killing, but then I wont be able to do quests there. It this a thing or just a stupid bug?

Is it possible to use 2d drawings as sprites in the game?

Im currently watching quantum's modding tutorials and got me thinking, i dont have the computer that can handle blender, but what if i use like transparent pngs of digital drawings instead like sheet animation? Can that actually work? ,i never seen a mod that does something like this...

Fallout Fixt invasion timers and endings

Newcomer to the classic fallouts here. So I was happy to see Fallout Fixt gave me options to disable the hard timers for various bad outcomes so I can freely bum around the wasteland, going on caravans and looking for encounters. I initially assumed the only timer was the visible water chip timer, but later discovered that you can get bad endings if you take too long to finish the game, regardless of in-game events.

So I have a question for the Fallout Fixt options, if anyone knows: If I disable the invasions in the options, does that also disable the bad time-related ending slides? What about if I delay the invasions (there's an option to delay by 4x)?

Finally, what about using a hex editor to change the date on my save game? I already spent too much time mucking about, plus some events seem to be bugged and take an absurd amount of time.

Any answers would be appreciated.

Can save editors end combat/pacify npc’s?

What it says in the title. I was caught stealing in the hub, tried to load a save but accidentally saved instead, and I’m a fool because my last alternate backup is a ways back. Anything I can do to either end combat in-game or in a save editor?
