c/2024 s1 (atlas) went off hours before perihelion. so unexpectedly
Just a question, any news about this new comet? I read that it should be visible in about a week, or so. Yet i do not see any posts about it. .thx
It's getting too dim for me. Wish I could remove the flare from lights at a shopping mall.

I saw it last week when it was at it's peak and stayed out for it's entirety. I've taken a quick loom the last few days but haven't really stayed outside that long bc I can't find it anymore. Am I right to give up more quickly or am I just not spotting it?

Amateur picture. Getting into astrophotography after this experience. Yed Posterior, Yes Prior, Marfil, a serpentis, serpents caput including Unukalhai are visible.

I'm in playa del rey California but willing to drive to see the comet. Where is the best place to see it? I've tried so many days along the coast with no luck. Any recommendations would be appreciated! Maybe I'm looking in the wrong spot

Nikon D750, 24-70mm/2.8, ~10sec. exposure I held a black piece of cardboard in front and below the lens to clock out any direct light pollution into the lens from the city lights below. Shot through the window of my roof.
Watched this beauty for almost a week. Blessed we’ve gotten a view almost every night as our humidity is generally high! South Louisiana
