Articles and discussion about the planet Jupiter.

Jupiter is the largest planet orbiting the Sun.

Being more massive than all the other planets combined, Jupiter dominates the Solar System. Its four Galilean moons are of particular interest, as several are thought to possess subsurface oceans, and possibly even extraterrestrial life.

Sure many of you know this one, but here it is again. Timelapse video from Voyager 1's perspective, approaching Jupiter in 1979.

Picture of Jupiter and three of it's Galilean moons I've took sometime last year. I took it with just my phone and my telescope!

What planet is this?

Hi All,

First time using our telescope last night 4”…Nothing fancy but we got to see the moon and another few planets/stars.

This picture is what I think is Jupiter from a very amateur telescope. Can someone confirm?

Thanks,
