Articles and discussion about our star: The Sun
The Sun is the star at the centre of our solar system. Essentially a gigantic thermonuclear fusion reactor, the Sun is by far the most important source of energy for life on Earth.

This picture is completely unedited. Taken in Virginia. It was very cloudy where I was but I took some pictures of the solar eclipse. I took multiple pictures at the same time and not all pictures had this line. Only some of them. (So I know it’s not something on the camera) Is it the heat from the sun creating this line?? Idk. So weird. Did anybody else see it?
(Cross post) Just out of curiosity, where could I go to look up when South Texas will be in the path of totality again? I’m sure it’s hundreds of years from today but is there a list somewhere?
2024 Solar Eclipse from Charleston, WV. Hope this helps.
Lol Syracuse has an eclipse every fuckin day with these stupid ass clouds, we ain't gonna see shit.
All of you amazing solar photography enthusiasts, do share pics of the eclipse and please do not forget to share totality! Some of us sadly get a total eclipse - with the Sun 39.5 degrees below the horizon..🥲🤣
Took apart a pair of eclipse glasses and taped the lens to my S21Ultra. I really didn't expect to see sunspots
I got T-Mobile eclipse glasses last week and I tested it today. I'm not sure if it is safe if I can see light like this. I haven't even tested it on the Sun yet and I'm concerned. I really want to take a picture of the eclipse without destroying my camera lens. Is this safe or is it dangerous for my phone's camera?
