First time climbing outdoors

Luckily I got to go on a Two day trip to Stone Fort. I sent a some V0s and V1s then a v3 drop off. Finally I worked on Super Mario V4 for hours and sent it. Had to come back the next day to repeat it on video. I was so stoked when I left my house to stone fort. But after climbing on rock and sending. I am just elated! Thank you to everyone who let me climb with them, gave me beta, spotted me and let me fall on their pads.

Weekly Question Thread: Ask your questions in this thread please

Please sort comments by 'new' to find questions that would otherwise be buried.

In this thread you can ask any climbing related question that you may have. This thread will be posted again every Friday so there should always be an opportunity to ask your question and have it answered. If you're an experienced climber and want to contribute to the community, these threads are a great opportunity for that. We were all new to climbing at some point, so be respectful of everyone looking to improve their knowledge. Check out our subreddit wiki that has tons of useful info for new climbers. You can see it HERE

Some examples of potential questions could be; "How do I get stronger?", "How to select my first harness?", or "How does aid climbing work?"

If you see a new climber related question posted in another subReddit or in this subreddit, then please politely link them to this thread.

Zookeeper 14a in the Red River Gorge

Another nice and short rig at the old zoo, this one follows a cool crack feature, and the last moves at the top involve hand jams! (Compiled footage from a previous try, but all of my beta was the same when I sent)

Fine Jade appreciation post

The Southeast face of the Rectory provides, in my opinion, the finest tower climb in Moab. I thought it had an overall techy feel, lots of steep climbing without any OW (i'm looking at you, Lightning Bolt Cracks), the bolted finish up the sunlit right side looked cool but we went with the original finish (shadowy corner at the top). When I got back to camp and was looking through MountainProject comments (as we do), I was stunned to find out alex h climbed it in 8:10 (yes, that's 8 minutes and 10 seconds and about 20x faster than our climb). There was allegedly an uncut video of the climb floating around in the ether but i haven't been able to track it down.

Holding the swing on "Kunstwerk" (8b/5.13d)

Me on the spectacular Dyno on my current project in the Altmühltal, Germany. The name translates to "piece of art" in an ironic way, because a lot of the holds had to be fortified with glue due to the nature of the rock in this cave. Whats your opinion on glueing holds? I think it's OK, if the route couldn't exist otherwise and if you're only fortifying, not adding holds.

Zootopia 14a/b in the red river gorge!

Compiled footy from a previous working go. On the send I ended up switching up some beta right before the dyno, eliminating the hard hand recycling move in exchange for a slightly harder clip with the opposite hand.

This relatively new route's seen a lot of action the past couple days. I got the 6th ascent on the same day right after Megos onsighted and Chris sent 2nd go (4th and 5th ascents), then belayed this guy Max on the 7th ascent yesterday. Chilly days call for short routes.
