Top floor was locked off. Also, don’t mind the heavy breathing at the end, I was a little shaky😂
So right now I finished my first climb (500ft) and I would like to know if I should revise anything in my backpack. Right now I have a first aid kit, knife, GoPro, camera/camera equipment, p100 face-mask, some water and cigarettes. Any revisions?
So fucking cool already looking for more spots.
so i didn't expect that post to gain that much traction but atleast i got hella info from it. obviously i wont be climbing for a while cus i wanna drive but once i get that license ill think abt comin back. im 14 for anyone wondering or if that is significant. i saw a lot of people talking abt the feeling of climbing being on drugs which i dont understand but it reminded me of something. I used to be a daily smoker and thats what my mom was referencing in the "anything else you have done" for anyone wondering. Ever since i got caught and had to stop smoking months ago i found this community, and it has led me to beat my addiction and cravings and do something more sustainable and active (climbing). For of the people telling me to listen to my parents, i am. Thanks to Imaginary Lines for being a real one and defending me even though i don't agree with everything you said. I am definitely going to be a tower tech in the future so maybe that's when i'll climb again but for now im done. Thanks to all who gave me advice. I'll post sometime in the future assuming i dont get grounded once they see my climbing album
So a few weeks ago I climbed a cell tower near a construction site. When i got down, i decided to go take a look at the site. To my surprise, the door was unlocked, so i went in and walked a few meters. Then all of a sudden, an alarm went off. I got scared and ran away, but I really want to go back and climb the crane. I know some of yall know a lot about construction sites and how the security works, so i was wondering how i could get past the alarm/security all together. If it can help somehow, the site is located in Montreal, Canada. Thanks for the replies 🙏🏻 (sorry for my shit english it’s my second language)
Was at work and had to de-rig, the tower we left rigged over night. Job was too swap out 6' antenna for customer. With wind gust it was more like 40mph winds up top.
I know youre all probably sick of all the "can i climb this?" posts but I've read the guides and done my own research and I'm still not sure about it. The tower is 150m and in london so the views from the top would be insane. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Croydon_transmitting_station According to the wiki the tower used to transmit tv at high enough power to fry me before i even get close to the top but hasnt since 2012. Despite this, the tower still has the tv transmitters as a reserve in case something goes wrong with the other identical tower nearby. Is there any way to check for sure if the tower is still transmitting at that power? Im pretty sure it isnt but its better safe than sorry.
might be off topic and get removed but some stuff happened and i got caught with all of my climbing. i need to stop for a while any advice is appreciated they're pretty mad at me
