My friends and I are working on a project regarding wildlife conservation. We are trying to understand how poaching happens and how it is prevented. We want to bring about awareness for the same through some media but we don't know what would be the best move. Our current research is based on Indian Pangolins as we are from India and its the most poached animal. So we want to bring awareness about pangolin and its poaching. The current stage of our project is to find ideate upon solutions for an issue we want to solve (awareness of pangolin poaching). For that, we trying to understand how effective is awareness for conservation and what type of awareness? It would help if specifics are also given for example, awareness in the tribal communities to directly assist the forestry services catch poachers.
The demand for poaching is primarily for its scales, meat and blood. Meat for consumption, the other two for Chinese traditional medicine majorly. It's trafficked to Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam amd China mostly from India.
Good afternoon.I love nature and wildlife, one thing that I just want to know not that I care much about a comfortable life. Do anti-poachers in SA have any social life?Wife?Girlfriend?Children? As I am enrolling in a 11 month course where anti-poaching is included. How is life for an anti-poacher.I know it is not glamorous. Any additional information would also be nice.I am based in South-Africa.
