This is HUGE news for iRacers who primarily run the Supercars. As a graphic designer myself, this will be a huge task to get all 26 liveries done!
I'm just curious about the tickets of the grand stands is worth it and if I should get the pitlane walk or the paddock pass. I watch it last year in person but only got general admissions yeah it was cool but I'm just wondering if there are any recommendable upgrades from that
I think the biggest thing people are forgeting is that our cars hit kerbs and a lot bumping then any other motorsports beside rally and rally cross type stuff and and it means that parts that are strong enough on another series of cars isn't able to take the same abuse as we have seen simple suspension failures at tracks like barbagallo where they really only hit 2 kerbs and in 2015 for instance both Walkinshaw cars of slade and tander broke the left rear lower control arm and we have seen adelaide homebush and surfers paradise break the cars way more then people seem to remember supercars are trying to front most of the cost so that it means smaller teams can race like the chadas or even maybe LDM size team that way factory teams can't run away with the R&D of parts to keep the racing close and also people seem to forget that we had teams that was always stronger in one aspect compared to others on track. Another thing is people seem to forget also we have some of the closest racing these last few season and the reason Triple 8 are always towards the top is they manage the damage limition the best like there pit stops and stratergies are always on top
This account has started uploading Australian content. So far some really good (picture quality and racing) telecasts from 1987 of the old tracks Surfers Paradise, Adelaide International Raceway, Oran Park and Amaroo Park
Hi all!
I am relatively new to v8 Supercars and I’m planning to fly to the other side of the world to see a Supercar race for the first time!! (And visit a loved one in NZ)
I am wondering what the general admission is like and if I should think about getting a grandstand seat instead. I was lucky enough to have grandstand seats at an F1 race and saw that a lot of the GA viewing spots were blocked so I’m wondering if it’s the same kind of deal with Supercars.
Anything else I should know when visiting Nz in April?!
Thanks!!!
I'm from the UK and know nothing about this sport, but I'm now interested.
Does anyone know or have the season highlights package that Foxtel puts up with all the rounds and the radios in between sessions before commercials with the song "Mayflies in the Fading Sun" by Velvethead? It's arguably the greatest and my favourite promo. I want to show it to my friend who's getting into the sports I like and this is my introduction to Supercars
With the news of the latest signing this morning, can we all take a moment to appreciate the work Lowndesy is doing for the young, next generation of drivers. And what a cool story for these upcoming legends to tell that they were mentored by an absolute champion of the game. Exciting times ahead.
😂😂
Title says it all, I know the bottom is rather tame, but is the top end still as fucking insane and terrifying as back in the 80's and 90's?

As flagged by Speedcafe, Bathurst 1000 winner Lee Holdsworth is on the move, he is not expected to return to Walkinshaw Andretti United following a challenging 2024 campaign alongside Chaz Mostert as a busy 2025 supercars championship co-driver market continues to unfold.
WAU is poised to pounce on young gun Jayden Ojeda, who shone in this year's endurance races at Erebus Motorsport, and will retain Kiwi Fabian Coulthard.
Holdsworth has driven with Mostert in three of the past four seasons, winning the Great Race in 2021 before undertaking a final full-time campaign with Grove Racing the following year.
There has been great speculation over whether Holdsworth, who now works in commercial real estate and has 21 Bathurst 1000 starts to his name, would seek another home for next year.
Coincidentally, a Holdsworth/Team 18 reunion could happen after Lee drove for the Charlie Schwerkolt owned outfit from 2015-2018.
My opinion: The irony in this move, Lee Holdsworth could go back to Team 18 for the first time since 2018 and Tickford confirms their interest in having Mark Winterbottom back but as a co-driver after this year being Winterbottom's final full-time season driving for Team 18.

Grove Racing has expressed interest in a possible Toyota Supercars deal amid suggestions there could be three squads on the grid in 2026. (Walkinshaw Andretti United's as the homologation team alongside potentially Team 18 and Grove Racing)
Toyota announced in September earlier this year that it will enter the category with Walkinshaw Andretti United as it's homologation, team pledging a five year Supercars commitment with at least four cars. Although some believe Team 18 is already locked in to be the much discussed second team. The car maker is adamant that discussions with others won't start until June 2025.

Toyota is comfortable with whichever path Supercars takes regarding hybrid technology. So as long as the entertainment factor is not compromised.
Toyota has clarified it's stance on the subject as it prepares for the competition debut of it's Gen3 GR Supra in 2026. Supercars' Gen3 ruleset was devised with hybrid capability if desired down the track, but that not been pursued as of yet.
My opinion: Ah, I'm neutral, yeah, hybrid is good but I'd prefer hearing the sound of a big angry V8.

We love
Just thought I’d throw it out for anyone who wants to have a discussion on the episode.
I’m really loving the show and the in site to the drivers perspectives.
What I will say about the ep is I wish scott would STFU about driver weights and specifically the “fitness”. We all know who he is referring to and the bloke won the championship… Bathurst and now the gc500. Maybe if he was running around in 20th you could question fitness.
