Been playing around with how I want my desk set up. But I think I got it to where I want it. Samsung g95 with 3 32” monitors.
Butcher block desk with ikea Alex cabinets. Still working out aesthetics and how I want everything to look.
I currently have the LGc2 but I am thinking about going back to UW. How is the LG 39gs95qe-b? Is it considered a downgrade from the C2? Would the image quality be a lot worse being I'm used to 4k? Anybody who has the LG 39gs95qe-b want to chime in and tell me your experience with it. Thanks in advance!
I have the Odyssey g8 32" OLED smart monitor. Anyone else that as this, does the remote suck for y'all too or is it just me? It basically does not work unless it's plugged into a power source, or the battery hardly lasts more than a day while sitting there doing nothing.
What can I do about this? I wouldn't be so salty about it if they put physical controls on the display aswell, and I know you can use the smart things app, but want it to just work..
Can anyone help clarify if there is a noticeable difference in text quality between these two?
Thanks!
I'm building a new high end gaming rig and want to upgrade my 144hz 21:9 to a 240hz. As far as I know, there are only three options that don't have what I consider to be an insane curve radius at well under 1800R and are 240hz or higher, in 1440P. I don't know of anything above 240hz? Does anyone have insight on the differences or which one is best?
Hey all, I am thinking about getting a Samsung G9 49" and I was hoping some folks here could tell me if Windows 11 is able to display properly at 5120x1440.
I am mainly worried about design and motion work having crisp text, etc. Thanks
Not sure if this is the right subreddit to ask...I am having hard time deciding.
some background: I am a long time forever windows user and used to game alot in the past on my custom build PC (yep, i builded a high end custom water cool PC) and im still daily driving it in its 8th years now without any issues as all i do right now is web browsing , youtube, movie, works and minimal amount of gaming (fps games, league, etc, not those high graphic intense games anymore as I don't have much time and i am not as enthusiastic anymore about those.)
my current set up: my PC + 144hz ultrawide 1440p monitor + work laptop (i want to have kvm function...but this monitor dont have it, so toggle between work laptop and pc every day, this button hope don't broke...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am finally upgrading and bought an apple m4 mac mini, want to pair with a high resolution display + high refresh rate because I really dont want to go back to 60hz...after some research, looks like options are below-
32 inch QD-OLED , 4k gaming monitors (alienware, asus, msi, etc) a few brand makes exact same monitor around ~$1,000-$1,500. not sure this is the way to go for just a perfect graphic display and high refresh rate for my use.
Dell u4025qw - this one has more functions, ports that probably suit my need more than 32inch gaming monitors, but its priced at around $1,500 but i can't seem to find many reviews, videos online, is it gonna be noticeable large from my current 34' ultrawide? how does its IPS black compare to OLED?
I spent most of my time sitting infront of my desk, want to get a good monitor and enjoy for years to come!
Thanks and please share any reviews/feedbacks on these!
As the title states before I had a really old gaming setup just whatever I could afford with the money I had however now I’m been blessed to finally build my dream setup.
And currently I have 3 monitors
1-24in (used for watching a movie or something) 1-27in (for gaming) 1-Arzopa (lmao I know it sounds like a joke but that little screen is pretty handy for having discord or Tarkov maps open, like small stuff that would be annoying or have no reason taking up a screen)
I want to keep that same system in place with the new setup like one screen fully dedicated to gaming and another screen fully dedicated to content, as of right now I’ve bought LG UltraGear 39” but Best Buy has the 45” ultragear on sale right now would two monitors of this size be overkill for how I plan to use them?
Or what would y’all recommend for the second monitor since I already bought the 39”?
TLDR; upgrading setup I’m used to 2 main monitors, 1 for gaming, 1 for content movies etc… Currently own LG Ultragear 39, would want to still have 2 monitors at the end of the build would purchasing the Ultragear 45” be overkill/to much? What are talks recommendations?
Edit: or just purchase another Ultragear 39?
Just got the LG 45GS96QB from best buy. Looked huge in the store, even bigger in person it feels like. Haven't messed with it much yet but I'm liking it so far!
Has anybody upgraded U4025QW to the firmware M3T103? Please leave your experience after upgrading to this version.
I need to know how much input lag xiaomi mini g pro 27i
And what is better
xiaomi mini g pro 27i or xiaomi curved gaming monitor g34wqi
NOTE : i play FPS games on ps4 now , but ill buy ps5 very soon
Looking for ideas, examples, or someone to tell me to sell the 49" :)
I am an applications guy and I am a PBP guy. Right now I am typing to you on my personal rig that's using exactly half of the 49" 24.5" 2K style. And this is a decent amount of screen for me. Even on the weekends I leave it split.
I have:
1 x Odyssey G9 49" (curved, ya know) with the Ergotron mount.
2 x Samsung 34" (long story how I got these but I have them -- and had used them for awhile before going back to the ultrawide). I have the Ergotron LX 2 screen mount for these.
A 30 x 70" standing desk
Problem:
I need like one more screen over the half/half of the 49". I can't figure out how to do it with what I have. The combinations of shit available on Amazon and not being able to see it with my specific screens on them is very difficult for me. I do have access to another 27" but because of the curve of the 49" I can't find a solid way to make that work side-by-side either.
Back story:
I am a contractor. Even if I am working on a fixed project that comes out to 5 hours a week or less I will be handed a laptop by my client for security reasons. Or they will demand I use an isolated one and prove it.
So at any given time I will have my personal machine and 1-2-3 other laptops hanging around here.
I use Synergy and multiple inputs on my bluetooth keyboard whenever possible.
I am in a corner. I don't have a lot of adjustability to make the ultrawide or the other monitors hang over the edge or behind the desk.
I can move it but I don't have a lot of options to put it in a place where the monitors can hang over the edge suspended by arms.
Right now I've been using a KVM on the other half of the 49". The issue is that when I do this I have to leave the laptops open on my desk because they goto sleep if I switch the video input off of them when closed. And of course having another machine sitting on the desk open takes up a bunch of space.
Someone suggested a mouse jiggler to me to keep the machine awake. I have some on the way.
The screens with different curvatures (2 x ultrawide samsung 34" and the odyssey) are difficult to manage one stacked on the other. The curve in the 49" makes it take up a ridiculous amount of desk space. I have it on the arm but on its legs...it takes up a lot of room.
I am trying to accomplish a few things:
Mount the ultrawide up top....somehow. On the wall? High up enough the curve doesn't get in the way of the workspace?
I am trying to find a set of mounts or layout where I don't strain my neck looking up.
I have the Ergotron LX for the 2 x 34" but the brackets do not tilt more than 5* downward.
Or do I just put on my big boy panties, remove the 49" from the equation and do a 17" PBP square on one 34"....switching it out for a full screen if I need the real estate for a specific task?
Thanks! Sorry for the drama!
I had a 1st-generation Samsung Ark 55" monitor, which suddenly developed an internal crack after 1 year and 1 month of use. I just discovered that the warranty only covered the first year. Given the current repair costs and the price of screen replacement, it's not worth considering. So, I’m now thinking about buying either the 49" Odyssey OLED 240Hz (2024) or the 57" Odyssey G9 Mini LED (2023).
Based on my research, each has its pros and cons, making the decision tough. On Reddit, some people opted for the 57" model to avoid potential OLED dead pixels, while others chose OLED to steer clear of Mini LED technology. I'm leaning toward the 57" but still hesitating since it lacks built-in entertainment apps and speakers, and I'm not sure if OLED would be the better choice overall.
My usage will be about 60% productivity and 40% gaming and entertainment. I plan to connect 2 Macs, a console, and a PC. Any recommendations? Currently, I'm using a 45" LG UltraGear, which feels too small after getting used to the 55" Ark.
Hi, just wanted advice which one to get, philips is 680eur while MSI is 750eur. I am leaning towards MSI, but is it worth it? Or should i save 70eur and get Philips? Thanks for any advice. P.S. both come with 3year burn in warranty.
Hello there!
I'm currently using a 24" 1080p old ass gaming monitor mostly for gaming (75%), but for work as well (25%).
Time for a change, I'm about to purchase a 34" curved ultrawide 1440p. Budget is around 300-350 USD. I've narrowed down my choices to 3 options:
For work color accuracy is not that important to me, nor any distortion due to the curve.
I've looked at a Samsung G5 in a store today for reference, which is 1000r, and I think I liked the curvature of it, however I haven't seen an 1500r in person. Any pro, cons? What are your opinions of the above mentioned monitors, are there any other monitors you would suggest in this price range?
Please help. I stopped getting 5120 x 1440 resolution on samsung neo. I’m very sure I was getting 5120x1440 resolution on my laptop on hdmi 2.1. All of a sudden i can only see maximum of 3840x 2160 resolution without ultra wide option.
Hello Guys, I have problems getting Valorant to ultrawide stretched again. I have black bars showing up on the right and left on the window and I can’t get it gone with “winexp” and putting it in windowed on a smaller res. I also tried doing it via NVIDIA control panel. Any ideas? Thanks in advance J~
Monitor is a 34 inch 3440x1440 (Alienware) Win11
This is my odyssey G9, an old old 27 inch screen (S27 B550 I've been using since 2012 and my surface pro. With my cat to complete the setup.
This may sound weird but I need to do some adjustments on my monitor when gaming.
I bought this Alienware AW3423DW monitor because most of the game I play today are single player games and I really enjoy the 21:9 aspect ratio.
Recently I started to play CS again and around 10 years ago I used to play it on a 16:9 monitor, but the CS res would be something in the 4:3 aspect ratio area. I did it for performance boosts and that's how I played it since then so I'm used to it.
My question is - can I set 16:9 borders for my monitors, so in CS2 I can play on a 4:3 aspect ratio BUT - stretched? Right now it is stretching all the way to the sides. I kinda wanna simulate having like a 27 inch flat monitor just for CS2.
Thank you anyone for helping.
Hey Guys,
The New MSI MPG 491CQPDE seems to have a rly good Oled Care System but here in Germany the G9 is 330€ cheaper atm. ( 1230€ vs 900€ )
I am a freelance editor using now the new MacMini M4 Pro and was wondering if the 330€ is worth it.
I know the Neo would be better in terms of Burn In risk but that Neo is 1500€ atm.
But i think i would risk the G9 Oled for that Price if you guys dont have a good reason for the MSI One ?
I have LG 38GL950GB but find the color a bit washed out compared to my OLED tv downstairs. Would this be an ok upgrade to my LG? Or will the difference be negligible?
Also it appears that it’s 1440p, mine in 1600 vertical. Is this one gonna be less sharp?
Thanks so much!
Hey,
i am in the process of looking for my first ultrawide. By this point I have combed through rtings over and over (in addition to this subreddit). Due to me overanalyzing, it seems like all of the available options are flawed. Especially the Samsung QC gives me a bad feeling. This is why I am asking for your advice:
Use case:
70% software development (web frontend/fullstack). And 30% gaming/media consumption. I mainly play strategy/building/turn based games. I am located in Germany.
Currently my setup is a 1440p 16:9 32inch main monitor and a 24 inch 16:9 on the side.
My dream specs:
The monitors I have seriously considered:
Samsung Odyssey G9 neo 49:
concerns: Fairly expensive currently at 1300 Euros, quality control, viewing angles, losing 6cm of vertical space
pro: seems to be the most "balanced"
Samsung Odyssey G9 neo 57
concerns: Fairly expensive currently at 1700 Euros, quality control (scan lines, screen separating in the middle, etc), viewing angles, overheating, requires a monster GPU, requires huge monitor arm.
pro: gigantic screen, 4k resolution
Dell u4025qw
concerns: dimming zones, very expensive at 1600 Euros, very bad gaming performance
pro: viewing angles, height, kvm,
If it wasn't for the burn-in concerns I would have just picked the Samsung Odyssey 49inch oled at 950 Euros.
Are there any other options I should consider?
Cheers!
I need some advice on choosing between two monitors and avoiding buyer's remorse.
I can’t test them before purchasing, so I’m a bit unsure.
The options are:
Both are priced the same, but the Gigabyte is brand new, while the Acer is used.
I did get a chance to check out a Dell U3419WE curved monitor, but I didn’t really get to work with it, so I’m not sure how it compares.
The Gigabyte feels like the “safe” option since it’s flat and more straightforward. However, I’m worried I’ll have buyer’s remorse after getting it, wondering if I could’ve gotten something with a curved panel (maybe better immersion?), better color accuracy (Nano-IPS), power for charging my Mac, and good built-in speakers.
I’d really appreciate any feedback from those who’ve used either of these (or similar models), or if you have any suggestions based on your experiences.
Thanks!
I'm planning to buy this monitor, but I can't find this specific information anywhere. If I connect my Mac to the monitor through HDMI - Micro HDMI, and then plug my mouse into the USB-C Downstream port on the monitor, will I be able to use the mouse on my Mac?
Thank you!
Are there any recommended monitor stands for a 49' Inch Ultra Wide monitor?
Recently purchased the Samsung 49" G95SC Odyssey OLED G9 240Hz Smart Gaming Monitor which I'll use for gaming primarily.
