I want to buy an IPS monitor for productivity (and streaming) but no gaming. Sharp text is important to me.
Am I better off getting a 32" 4K and using higher scaling or a 34" 1440P with less scaling? I'm less concerned about price than finding a monitor I will be happy with and comfortable using. If a 4k 34" ultrawide IPS existed I think I'd buy it but that doesn't seem to be the case. I guess I would prefer an ultrawide but it isn't an absolute requirement for me.
Your recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Has anyone been able to get Logitech wireless charging pad to actually charge while plugged into the Samsung Odyssey 57” KVM?
Any tips/ thoughts on a way to use the KVM and keep the wireless charging pad or should I just move on from it?
Cheers, Thanks!
Hey community,
Having an issue with my monitor, seems like a power issue. Problem occurs when I reboot. 70% of the time, computer will not boot up and will require several reboots until the monitor powers back on. I have a spare Dell monitor and out of 10 reboots, it worked 100% but for the Samsung, less than half the reboots were successful. I already updated the firmware to ver. 1007.0 and initially it seemed like it worked but didn't take long for the issue to return. This also occurs if I try to wake the system up from sleep mode so it's become a gamble whether my system will boot back up from sleep mode. When it fails to wake up, it can sometimes reboot on it's own.
In addition, I use PiP on the monitor. My DP cable is my main monitor and the HDMI is for PiP, both connected to my 4090. Anyone else experience this issue? Wondering if it's the DP cable I use? I previously had dual monitors connected to the same GPU and never had these issues. Only difference has been the DP cable I purchased from Amazon after the 3ft cable that came with the Neo G9 broke (pulled PC to clean it and broke the DP male end bc it's short) Purchased cable
I recently updated my graphic drivers using DDU. Since then, my OLED G9 (G93SC) has been doing this weird thing where every restart/wake up, the screen has a grey-ish tint on the background and doing as such (link to video: https://imgur.com/a/1NKndtH) fixes it.
Why would the update cause this? It’s an easy fix, but pretty annoying to have to do it every time.
Thanks!
I have seen this post come up but can't find an answer. I have an MacStudio (M2 Max) & and a Neo G9 57". I have connected the thunderbolt 4 port from the mac studio to the DisplayPort in the Neo g9 57"
When connecting with Displayport I only can choose between 7680 x 2160 , or 3840 x 1080. When connecting the HDMI from MacStudio to HDMI 120hz in neo g9, I can see 5120x1440
I prefer using the displayport in as I would like to use my HDMI ports for other devices, and I know both HDMI & Displayport on monitor support 2.1
I have tried betterdisplay (not the paid version), other forms of toggling and can never see the 5120 x 1440 option for Displayport.
How do I make this happen?
With DisplayPort 2.1

So I just got a G9 49" and when ever I turn off the monitor for a prolonged period of time and turn it back on it will not find the display.
I have to either unplug the DP or remote connect to my PC and then suddenly it picks up the screen again.
At this point it completely messed up all my window alignments and acts as it it's the first time connecting. I also had a few times where nothing worked other than resetting my PC.
My PC is set to never sleep and I never had this issue with previous monitors.
Samsung chat was no help and then sent me an email response to use the power button to turn the monitor back on😂
So some of u may remember me from my post :
So I was finally able to buy this monitor it will take around 2-3 weeks to arrive. Before this massive monitor comes I need help in terms of what mount should i use. I want a wall mount because i prefer to move my table around sometimes + i like it feeling empty on my table as i have huge ass textbooks on it so i can use the space to study.
I live in the uk so i dont have any studs only PURE CEMENT walls xD. Can i use a tv mount for a 57 inch ?
U guys got way more experience than me in terms of how i can tackle this. So can you please advice me. Thank you all.
As in title, I'm thinking about buying second monitor(other one is some old Samsung) I,ve seen that most of those are simmilir price so I don't know which to choose. I wasn't thinking about oled because of almost double of the price.
Which one of these has a better looking screen / colors / features?
As of today they are $50 apart in price so that makes no difference. Both of these are newer versions released in 24 of previous models with the MSI gaining more hz and the Samsung gaining an anti glare coating. I have always locked games at 144 hz and plan on continuing to do so which is why my main concern is picture quality and features.
Mostly asking here since I can't find a direct comparison of these two versions online, just previous versions. Also is there any 34" ultrawides announced with new Samsung gen 3 OLED screens from any makers like MSI, Samsung, Alienware, ect? Thank you.
I'm looking to upgrade my 2020 G9 but don't really have the desk space or the PC for the 57 inch. I found what appeared to be the listing for the old 1440p Neo G9 but when it arrived it was, due to either QC or just shady reselling, the non-neo model. Samsung doesn't seem to list the 1440p Neo G9 anymore, so are there any alternatives? I want to use it for office work as well as gaming so OLED is out of the running.
Hey everyone, I've seen all the threads of Mac users struggling to get a proper resolution out of their G9 Odyssey OLEDs... I am the same.
For context, I have an M2 Air and will soon have an M3 Air if that makes a difference.
I've seen people say USBC to DP or HDMI 2.1 works, but I have had difficulty getting that to work. I've seen people say you need a certain Maxonar cable from Amazon...
Has anyone found a reliable solution for this?
EDIT: To be clear, I am trying to get to get to native res or something that doesn't have fuzzy text.
I got a Dell Alienware 34 Curved QD-OLED monitor for gaming at home and i've been doing some coding on it and it's amazing.
I want a good monitor of that size (or maybe slightly bigger) for coding at work. Doesn't ahve to be oled or have any particular special things, it just has to be somewhat bright, readable, and doesn't break the bank.
Also, I'm on a macbook pro 16 inch 2022, if that matters (some monitors don't play nicely with mac?)
Thanks!
I just bought an AW3423DWF (thank you to everyone in here suggesting!) but I don’t want to just get rid of my current Acer x34 ips that I have on a monitor arm rn.
I have seen double monitor arms for ultra wides but I’m super weary of putting >30lbs of monitors on a single monitor arm. Does anyone have experience with these or should I just suck it up from an aesthetic perspective and get a second monitor arm?
Have just bought a g9 240hz . Now have a lot of monitors knocking around. A msi 240hz HD 32in curved and a 24 in 80hz flat . Anyone with ideas for a set up. Go easy on me went from xbox to 4080super in the last six months . Learning

This part literally had me wincing seeing the flex of the monitor 😭
Most curved monitors, especially with these latch style stands instruct to leave the monitor face down in the box while affixing the stand. I would also reccomend to do this... please
Hi All,
I am planning to buy a new monitor with Ratio > 16:9. There should be also high refresh rate like > 200 Hz. Also G-sync or G-sync compatible.
My wish would be Samsung G9 but i dont know if it is too big, which means a disadvantage for gaming.
Swapped to a white Mount and I am pleased with the results😁
Hi! I think I want to game on HDR and I was considering to create a custom resolution in order to permanently enjoy both 10-bit color depth AND 165Hz on 3440x1440p but I'm wondering if I really should or shouldn't game on a custom resolution/frequency for some reason. Primarily if it's safe/damaging to the monitor long-term or maybe also void the warranty. If there is another reason I really shouldn't do it please let me know as I'm completely clueless about the subject.
I'm really torn between buying Dell Alienware AW3423DWF and Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 (Ultrawide) for this specific reason given G8 provides native 10-bit in 175Hz as shown below on the RTINGS site:
Τhis is also the link for the Dell Alienware AW3423DWF and Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 (Ultrawide) comparison:
(They also have the same price in my region)
TLDR: Should I create and is it safe to game on a custom resolution/framerate to enjoy:
Or should I avoid it for any reason whatsoever? (Not safe/Damaging long-term/Losing another benefit if done)
PS: G8's Native 175Hz on 10-bit is the only reason I'm considering the G8 over the DWF but if you have any suggestion on which of those 2, or any other very similar monitor to buy, you are very welcome to let me know!
This is my first time buying a monitor. I searched for an ultrawide monitor that I will use mainly for productivity and work. I might occasionally watch some Netflix on it.
Just to let you know, I don't have a PC; I will connect my monitor to my laptop, a Dell Latitude 9440, as a docking station at home.
I don't know much about monitors, but I heard I should go with an IPS monitor. So, what are your recommendations? Should I go with the Full HD IPS monitor, or should I go for a higher resolution 3440x1440 VA monitor? I am leaning towards the higher resolution VA, but then again, my knowledge of monitors is limited, and I don't know much about IPS vs VA.
The Full HD 34" IPS monitor is the LG 34WQ650 UltraWide, which I found for 287.67 USD
The 3440x1440 VA monitor is the LG 34WR55QC-B 34" Curved UltraWide, which I found for 386.35 USD
I’m currently using a 34" uw from Samsung and is finding it to be a tad bit too small. I have been wanting to upgrade for a while, but can’t seem to decide on a new monitor. I’m looking for a 40" inch uw monitor as I think anything bigger would be to big. Any and all recommendations are much appreciated!
Quite new to monitors so wanted to ask which one I should get, my budget is around £300.
The first option I've come across is the AOC Gaming CU34G2XPD, it comes to around £300 in Amazon new.
Another option I've found is the MSI MPG Artymis 343CQR, which I've found a seller online selling it for £250 used(roughly 1 year, has original packaging and cables).
I'm not sure which ones better, any thoughts? Is it okay to buy used monitors (after doing a manual check and everything seems to be working fine).
Thanks in advance.
I’m looking for a 34" UWQHD (3440 x 1440) monitor for my PC.
My usage are working (programming) and gaming (mostly FPS and WoW) on it.
I’m not sure to take (QD-)OLED because I’m afraid to burn it (specially while working).
No budget limit.
Where should I go ? Should I wait for new models ?
Hey guys Its been 6 months since i ascended from 1080p samsung 24 inch 144hz va and I noticed the Aw3423dwf's screen sides has a small gap that dust accumulates overtime. How do you clean these ?!!?!?!?!
Hi, I’m in the market for an Ultrawide monitor and am really skeptical about ones I see, going down the review rabbit hole on every model is making it hard to make a decision. I’m looking for 1440p, 31-34inch, IPS or OLED monitor. I bought 2 ACER 34inch ultrawides but had a VA panel with really bad ghosting. Response time and minimal ghosting is huge to me. And having those ACER monitors for a few days before returning them, I have to get an ultra wide now, it was such a fun experience. Any good reliable recommendations? I don’t have a preference between IPS or OLED, but I’m racist against VA now that ive researched panel types and what the trade offs are.
I've got a 4070 super on the way and am looking to buy a 1440p monitor use it with. I would love to get an ultrawide, but I can't afford an IPS/OLED. I've checked the used markets, there's nothing good near me. That gigabyte IPS is also out of stock, but I really want the curve anyway if I'm getting ultrawide.
I've never used a VA, is it worth the switch + 2x the cost to go ultrawide? How noticeable/annoying is the ghosting etc on this monitor when gaming? If it's something constantly being brought to my attention/in the corner of my mind that sounds like trying to walk with a rock in your shoe and I don't know if I can handle that.
