Is use with monitor light bar will cause to the rise of the black levels or purple tint wit QD-OLED monitor ?

I am considering buying LED bar lighting for my QD OLED screen (FO27Q3), mainly for pleasant lighting in the room and healthy for the eyes, if it significantly destroys the black levels, i.e. lowers the contrast, then I prefer to avoid buying, but if there is a slight increase in the black levels, then I am willing to absorb the price For health and comfort (my main use is for gaming.

Does anyone have a QD OLED screen and have experience with LED bar lighting that can tell from their experience how it actually affects?

4K IPS + TN or 1440p OLED for Work&Gaming setup

As someone who works from home and mostly plays FPS games, I am in the process of making a decision. Right now, I have a Dell AW2725DF monitor that I just ordered and tried. Would it make sense to return it and get an MSI MPG 274URF QD 4K 160Hz and 360+ TN(XL2566K) or an IPS gaming monitor (XG259QNS) with a good response time and set up a 2-monitor system, or should I continue with the Dell? Some of the things I am wary of with an OLED monitor are text clairty and of course burn in. If I add about 8 hours for work and 3 hours on days when I play games, I get about 11 hours of daily usage. This usage period also makes me think about an OLED monitor.

Monitor + google tv combination

I want to buy a gaming monitor for my son that can also function as a smart TV, as we already have a Google TV box at home.

However, I'm uncertain about the best setup. Most monitors come with two HDMI ports, so one can be used for the PC and the other for the Google TV, which is fine. My challenge lies with sound and remote control.

I'm looking at second-hand monitors, but those with built-in speakers are not popular due to poor sound quality. I can add a cheap soundbar, but I’m unsure how to manage the remote control.

With my TV, I can use the Google remote to control the volume for both the TV and the soundbar via HDMI. Will this be possible with a monitor? I don't think monitors have an extra HDMI port with eARC.

What should I do? I appreciate any help you can provide.

Any advice for my monitor situation if you could, please

I recently purchased a Dell G3223Q (IPS) for $659 CAD and before my return window expired I have been looking at QD-OLED, it's been stressing me out beyond belief almost has become an obsession..

I play games like BF2042, Vermintide 2, a little COD, RDR2, WoW again recently, and Halo among a few others..

I browse and watch streams a lot as well, but have a secondary monitor for that(LG 32GN600-B).

What I have been looking at are the MPG 321URX with 5 year best buy warranty, or possibly because DP2.1 potential, AORUS FO32U2P from newegg. I am open to other recommendations as well.

!!What I'm mostly asking advice for is, is it worth paying 2-3x the price for OLED? and what are the odds of it getting "burn in" if i play 6-8 hours a day? OR should I just use the G3223Q IPS until OLED prices drop more and evolve a bit more.

My PC specs are 7800X3D + 7900XTX.. and yes I know the GPU doesn't support DP2.1 UHBR20, only UBHR13.5 but that was just a "future proof" thought...

I appreciate any input is welcome and respected, thank you for taking the time to read this and have a wonderful day.

If I did get return and get OLED I would be taking measures like auto hiding taskbar and hiding desktop icons(or changing primary monitor to my secondary LG 32GN600-B) & changing power plan to turn off screen after 5 minutes to mitigate that BI risk.

Again, thank you and take care.

AOC Q27G4 vs MSI G272QPF E2 vs MSI G274QPF E2

I want to buy a 1440p monitor and those are my options

MSI G272QPF E2 1440p 180Hz MSI G274QPF E2 1440p 180Hz AOC Q27G4 1440p 180Hz

Which is the best ? The price of the AOC and the G272 is the same, but the G274 is somewhat more expensive in my country. Which is better, the G272 or the AOC, and is it worth paying more money for the G274?

Is it harder for high refreshrate monitors to have 100% refreshrate compliance?

the reason I'm asking this is that my current monitor is a 165hz 1440p monitor by Dell.

According to reviewers it has 100% refreshrate compliance and little to no overshoot.

i wanted to upgrade to a 240hz panel but almost every monitor review I've watched the display can't provide 100% refreshrate compliance without overshoot (ips displays)

are these 240hz panels of lesser quality than the one I own, or is that just inherently harder the higher you go in refreshrate?

I'm not really a huge expert on this so I'm asking here.

Ants possibly in my monitor?

I've been seeing a few ants near my desk or directly on my monitor, I'm kind of concerned about it. It only started earlier and the ants don't really show up when my monitors off, I also eat on my desk sometimes, anything I can do in this situation? I don't know the model of the monitor but it is an acer.

Possible to save? Dropped it while moving

Is it possible to switch out the panel to get it working again? And if so where does one buy a new panel?

[Help] HP2011x Monitor

My monitor won’t display anything. I am trying to connect it to my PS2 with all adapter required. Tested it on my TV with no issue. It would only display “Input Out of Range” which is weird because it is using 1600x900 while my PS2 is using 480p. Should it not have display with no issue?? Any help and solution. Maybe a way to get rid of “Input Out of Range” thing and not force me to use 1600x900 even though my PS2 resolution is lower lmao.

Dual 21:9 monitor for gaming?

I bought an “OLED Odyssey G8” (34'' 3440x1440p) monitor but instead of receiving one I received 2, it has been many months and it seems that no one has noticed, if I had bought it from a small store, I would feel guilty, but it is a very big company.

The thing is that I have a pc with a RTX 4080 and two OLED Odyssey G8 monitors. Can you advise me a recommended use for both monitors? Put them side by side? one on top of the other etc...? Is anyone using something similar? It's just going to be for gaming and general leisure, not for work.

Thanks.

A way to switch between monitors fast

Hi guys. Need some help here. I have a monitor connected to my desktop with DP and the same monitor is connected to my work laptop with HDMI. I wanted to have a way to quickly switch between these two in my monitor without having to do it in the monitor's buttons. I tried display fusion but it doesn't identify the laptop so i suppose it can't do it.

I am aware there is hardware that can probably do this but i wanted to avoid that for now as Im not sure i will be in Remote work for long.

32 inch qd gen3 VS 34 inch qd gen2,5 (gen1 structure)

I love the 21/9 format but after Samsung Display decided to only use the old-fashioned qd gen1 structure (2.5) for the latest 34 inch models, I have doubts.

Maybe someone has experience of how big the difference really is between the latest 32 inch qd oled gen 3 compared to the latest 34 inch models? Especially when displaying texts.

Monitor size relation to viewing distance

Hey! So I'm going to build my 1st pc, I've always used laptops so I never had to buy a monitor.

Here's something I haven't found info on (sorry if there is and I just didn't do my research correctly or deep enoguh). Is there a maximum size you should opt for depending on the distance you're going to have your monitor from your eyes?

For example, my table is 65 cm deep (25.6 in for freedom units), so I guess my monitor would be 55-60 cm from my face. Is there a monitor size where I should go "Ok this is too big, it's going to hurt my eyes looking at it from so close" and such things or is there no problem if the monitor is good quality? In that case, what is good quality?

Edit: I didn’t think about this being relevant but now I see why it is: I have pretty good eyesight, I’m 24 and never worn glasses or anything, I only wear glasses that block blue LED lights (non-graduated) because I get headaches if I don’t and I’m too much time in front of the PC Also, I plan on playing at 1440p (R5 7600 CPU + RX 7800 XT GPU) and I wouldn’t want to go much higher than 200€ - I calculated approx. 10% of the PC’s cost (~1500€)

Monitor color converter.

I have my RGB settings set to 50/50/50 on both of my monitors, and I want them to look the same. Is there a website where I can input my monitor settings and the model of my monitors to help match their appearance?

Rant: Where are the high-res semi-pro/prosumer monitors for graphics work (not business monitors)? What about ultrawides for that?

A bit of a rant, sorry. Seriously, I swear there are dozens of new gaming monitors released every month, with new models barely different from last month's announcements.

I see at least a few 24" FHD monitors with 200-300 Hz refresh rate which are barely a tiny improvement over the last 190-290 Hz models, Who's buying them? I mean, they must sell like hotcakes if companies release them so eagerly, but I kinda doubt that.

But where are the somewhat affordable monitors for working with graphics? I.e., Adobe RGB, maybe BT.2020, don't care for HDR, don't care for infinite contrast, but absolutely do care for high resolution.

I love my LG flat ultrawide 3440×1440. It was one of the last monitors with a decent polarization filter where the corners don't have horrible IPS glow (because with ordinary filters, those monitors would be completely unusable). I still use one in the office, but it only has sRGB gamut, and that's just too limiting.

I did find that resolution (equivalent to 27" QHD 2560×1440) great for legibility and text size, so probably the best thing would be a 5K 27" monitor at 200% scaling... But where are they? Where are some wide gamut 6K monitors? What happened to 32" 8K monitors? How about ultrawide 7K-8K monitors (something like 6880×2880 or 7680×3240). Or do all professionals work on their laptops now and don't need a monitor at all?

I'm currently on a UHD 32", but 4K is a bit limiting because 200% scaling results in a FHD working area and everything is just too big.

I actually started hunting for that 8K Dell, because maybe with a dual port KVM switch, it would be just usable. Or at least it would be usable as 4K or 2.5K with integer scaling.

Switching from Curved to Flat Monitor - Fish Eye?

Hi Guys,

had a 24inch curved monitor for years now as my main monitor, next to a 24 inch flat monitor. I had no problems at all.

Now i bought a new 27inch flat monitor, and use my 24inch curved as second. I feel like im going crazy, cause with my vision the new flat one seems to bend the opposite way as the curved monitor is.

I read about this in a few threads, but what surprises me is that i dont have any problems with other flat monitors at work or my tv.

Im not sure if i should refund the flat one for another curved. Many people say it will go away, but im not sure if it will work out if have a curved one next to my flat monitor.
