Instinct with Fan Out HBM

Hello everyone,

Following several discussions, it seems that the main challenges in AI accelerator production are linked to two key components: HBM and CoWoS packaging.

The MI300 offers a memory bandwidth of 5.3TB/s utilizing CoWoS technology. Similarly, the RX 7900 XTX uses Memory Cache Dies (MCD) that connect to the Graphics Compute Die (GCD) with a 5.3TB/s interconnect, but this is implemented using InFO technology.

Setting HBM aside for a moment, my question is: could the fan-out (InFO) approach be applied to these accelerators that use HBM?

I came across an article discussing this topic, which can be found here: [https://www.businesskorea.co.kr/news/articleView.html?idxno=206459](https://www.businesskorea.co.kr/news/articleView.html?idxno=206459).

Is there any difference between chipset drivers from AMD versus motherboard manufacturers?

So, I know it sometimes taken manufacturers a long time to release chipsets drivers, but is this just because they are lazy, or do they "do stuff" with the AMD chipsets drivers to customise them for their particular motherboard?

And sometimes the manufacturers release more recent chipset drivers, for example I'm looking at the Gigabyte 670E chipset driver that I have, and it's v6.03.19.217, but the latest on the AMD website is v6.02.07.2300.

Does this mean that AMD will release v6.03.19.217 in the near future, and will it be the same as the Gigabyte version, or would the Gigabyte driver be more customised for the specific motherboard?

Or why haven't AMD released the latest chipset driver, are they waiting for manufacturers to test them or something?

Why cant we set a static GPU clock speed? Intel even lets you do this...

I love my 7900XTX and have had every Navi 2 and Navi 3 GPU, except the 7900GRE.. Anyway, I have noticed that Radeon will not let us users, set a static core clock. Nvidia, and now even Intel let you set a static core clock when overclocking, and undervolting, making it more of a straight forward, more precise experience. But when you try to do this with AMD GPUs, you can only set 'Boundaries" for example setting a range between 2700 and 2800 (it never stays within the boundaries manually set btw), instead of just letting you choose the speed you want. Allowing the user to pick what clock speed they want to use their GPU at should be a given, as we can already do it with their CPUs, and all other GPU manufactures already have this as a 'normal' experience. It would lead to more straight forward OC, and undervolting stability when trying to set a stable profile for you GPU.

What I'm trying to say, is that Nvidia, and Intel already understand the benefits, of letting the user have complete control over core clocks, and memory clocks for their GPUs, and I don't understand what AMD is doing this for?

Can someone in the community come up with a program to do this since AMD is completely against this? I can pay for some development costs, if it is even possible to do. Please let me know if you have any insight on this situation.

And if you are coming in here to say that Its not needed you are wrong. When CPUs dynamically change core speed, they lose performance compared, to the exact same CPU with a locked clock at the maximum boost speed. It would be the exact same for GPUs and this has already been proven.

Not only would it increase performance, and it would make finding a crashing overclock/undervolt way easier, instead of it dynamically changing when it hit a certain load.

Estimate on the 9000 series?

I have been waiting for the 9000 series before I build my first PC because all the tech YouTubers keep saying 9000 is right around the corner. I have been waiting 5 months now with the only news being the 8000G series. When does AMD usually announce/drop their new products?

AMD Devs - Whats the deal?

What's the deal with the crashes in World of Warcraft? You have been silent for 10 months regarding this issue, and have given us no feedback or explanation why we cannot play one of the biggest tripple A games in DX 12 mode without crashing.

As paying customers, We've spent anywhere from $200-$1600 to buy your GPU and you don't have enough respect for us to at least give us some details on this issue? It takes months for a new driver release, and no mention ever to fix the crashes.

This is not right, Please give an explanation and if you are never going to fix it, have the deceny to let us know.
