Bought it for $1000 CAD which was a really good deal (for me) and I am impressed. I don't think I can go back to IPS at this point. Also, it now comes with a 3yr burn-in coverage so that was a no brainer.
As the title says, my OLED G9 fried. The thing was gorgeous, until the panel gave out after 6 months. Any options around the $1200-$1500 price range that i should look into?
Just picked up my 1st ultra wide it’s the Lg Ultra Gear 45in and I gotta get a new desk any recommendations on size to fit monitor and pc on top
These monitors are great when they work but the QA/manufacturing has to be among the worst. Had the Odyssey G9 Neo and it developed a dead pixel line down the middle a year and one week after purchase. I had to fight with Samsung to extend my warranty and luckily they did and they replaced the monitor. Since I don’t learn my lesson I bought this G9 Oled and it crapped out after 6 months not impressed at all and Samsung customer service is always a pain. It’s like they don’t communicate with each other.
I am looking for a KVM switch that i can run my work computer and gaming PC through. I have a 49" Odyssey OLED G9 with 5120x1440 resolution and a second 2160x3840 work issued monitor on the side.
I just bought this KVM https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DDXC8LPX?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title which (stupid me) I didn't read maxes out at 3840x1080.
I am looking for a 2 DP 1.4 port KVM switch that will work with my 5120x1440 G9 - anyone have any recommendations?

the poster explains that the lenovo monitor supplies 2 laptops at once with ethernet, while the dell only one. On paper, both have the same kind of specs, and the dell even has twice as fast ethernet capability
I wonder how this can be explained
They said is a new model because it’s the mini led one , not the QD OLED
but I saw this model have few review on 2023 so I don’t understand
Is it like a remake ?
After weeks of deliberation I picked up an AW3423DWF for $500 (new, several discounts) and it is indeed very nice. However as I will be using this monitor primarily for productivity, I’m now second guessing how comfortable I will be long term with 1) text fringing and 2) burn in “anxiety”. While I do game a bit, it’s mostly single player games (Factorio, Satisfactory, Subnautica) that don’t really benefit as much from the beautiful OLED display. There is also no KVM, but that’s not really a deal breaker. This was a great deal so part of me thinks I should just be happy, but I can't help wondering how I would feel with something more geared toward "productivity".
I’m considering returning the AW3423DWF and getting one of the 49" screens below, all of which would also mean spending an additional ~$500:
Has anyone made a similar switch, in either direction? Am I crazy to spend an extra $500 to switch from an OLED to an IPS (albeit a larger screen)? Should I try using the AW3423DWF for another week or so and see how I feel then? I really wish there was store near me where I could just go see these things in person…
So I'm waiting for the monitor to arrive. While waiting for it, I have couple of questions about it. First of all, I'm gonna use it mainly for gaming and I would spend 8 - 10 hours on PC since I'm working from home. Yes, I do have work pc and monitor for that so I won't do any work on 45GR95QE-B. My question is, pc would stay turn on for 8 hours. Would this cause any problem to the monitor?
Secondly, I would usually watch Netflix, Prime, Youtube, etc. Would it be a problem to watch something on 21:9?
I'm looking for my first OLED ultrawide monitor and looking a these two options.
Both 240 hz, 1440p ultrawides. Pairing with a RX 7900 XTX
- Gigabyte MO34WQC2
- LG 34GS95QE-B
Which one would you recommend and why? (both the same price in my region)
I performed some calculations guys!
If on the upcoming monitor we would allow black bars at the top and bottom so that the visible height in gaming matched the height of classic 34 inch 21:9 1440p monitor, we would get aspect ratio of.. 28.15 : 9 !!
It would be like stretching 34 inch one more from 21:9 to 28:9 :D This also means that if we compare it to 49 inch 32:9 (which has same height as 34 one) we only lose about 4:9 - which isn't much considering that we only lost the most deformed parts on the edges actually!
And also we get higher PPI compared to both 49 and 34 inch ones (as a free gift kinda!). And I won't even discuss the fact that it is OLED..
Annd.. of course we discuss scenario when we match 34 inch one - we can always reduce black bars to get smaller aspect ration in exchange for higher vertical space. It's like a dream!
So the G8 is a €150 cheaper at €700 vs €850 where I live and I am extremely sensitive to sound. Sometimes I wear noise-cancelling headphones if my GPU starts blazing. Does this make for an obvious buy? Warranty is no issue and the IO isn't either. If you have a G8 how did you deal with the strange mini DP? Would love to hear about fan noise from AW3423DWF users too. Thanks in advance.
I had the alienware and now the msi Meg 342c. Love everything about the msi except that pixel refresh doesn't work on sleep so it'll always happen during use. Even with the 16 hour cycle versus the 4 hour cycle.
So I was wondering if there's a model out there which doesn't have this annoying sleep issue and some speakers.
I have had the Samsung Oled G8 for a few months. I am looking for a guide or correction with my settings. I only interested in the 400 True Black variant. Rather not buy a remote and void my warranty.
Anyways recently discovered the new RTX HDR and decided to start using it. Would these be these correct?

Where I am confused is according to rtings they reached past 400 nits with my current exact Monitor settings while testing my main game (Destiny 2).
Am I missing something or am I reading this wrong.
Title. I haven't been able to find a thread talking about this exact problem. What am I doing wrong?
I'm currently looking to purchase a gaming monitor and i dont really know much about them. My graphics card is an nvidia 4070 so idk if i need a gsync one or not. Budget around $500.
Hey guys, I posted in here yesterday asking a certain monitor was worth it used and someone mentioned that there could be yellow tinting due to backlight. I plan to use the monitor strictly for productivity so I’m wondering if this will be a big issue or not? The monitor in question is lg 38wk95c-w. Does anyone have a pictures of extreme examples of this I can make a judgement for myself on? Any info is appreciated, please and thank you!
Hello! I have the OG Oddysey G9 and it was working fine for the last 4 months of ownership, but now an issue has surfaced. Almost everytime I turn on my pc, the monitor doesn’t, I press the power button and it only shows a black screen and turns off again. Only workaround I’ve found is to pull the plug on the monitor for some time and then trying again and then it works. Does anyone have the same problem?
xg49vq 120hz va 1080p much aggressive curve or the Dell u4919dw ips 1440p lesser curve to partner with my laptop Dell XPS 17 not really into gaming but can appreciate high specs though
Hello everyone,
I'm seeking help on choosing a new monitor, I'm trying to ditch my dual monitor setup for a single ultrawide, I settled on 34" 1440p since 45" has a terrible PPI. Now, on 34" I'm having a tough choice, I don't know where to go, I work from home 3 days a week, trying to go 5days a week in the near future and also game, like 2-3h/day at most. While working I have a lot of excel/word documents + and IDE running 90% of the time.
So if I were going for gaming I would go with OLED (Alienware AW3423DWF) however from what I've seen OLED is terrible for working as there's very little text clarity and a huge risk of burn-in especially using documents and several windows always at the same spot.
I thought about going with the Gigabyte M34WQ as it's an IPS that's pretty affordable however I found the AOC AG344UXM for cheaper than the Gigabyte, it's a Mini LED monitor, all the reviews I've seen complain about this monitor price(all of them seem to be talking about 1200+€) however I found it new at a reputable retailer here in Portugal for 450€, for reference the Alienware is 899€ and the Gigabyte floats around 430-500€.
Would the OLED still be a better choice or would the risk of burn-in be too high and the text clarity could be a problem?
Another question, monitor arms for these monitors, AOC reports the AG344UXM at 12,7KG(I think with the OG stand included), I've seen people talk about secretlab heady-duty monitor arm but 350€ for a monitor stand is out of question for me. I've seen option from EWENT, anyone has any input on those?
Ewent EW1527 - https://www.ewent-eminent.com/en/products/63-sound-vision/heavy-duty-single-monitor-support-arm-desk-for-flat%7Ccurved%7Cultrawide-0 - apparently supports up to 15kg and it's 55€
Ewent EW1509 - https://ewent-eminent.com/en/products/63-sound-vision/heavy-duty-single-monitor-support-arm-desk-for-flat%7Ccurved%7Cultrawide - apparently supports up to 20kg and it's 120€
I disregard the rgb on the second option as I don't care about it, but is the extra price worth for the safety of the extra 5kg of capacity?
Thank you everyone!
I have a 3080 12GB card and want to get myself a 34" screen.
budget is about 500 USD. Main usage is browsing, some office programs like WORD or EXCEL and some game like MS flight simulator, GOW, Forza. I don't usually play in dark rooms.
Options in mind that fit my budget are the M34WQ which is IPS but flat or M34WQC and S3422DWG
Hi ! I heard MSI like to do some monitors with Gen 1 pannel , this one come with the third i'm right ?
Busted out the 2080 SUPER
i am looking for a 34“ IPS curved monitor that was pretty good a couple years ago that might be available on the refurbished/used market in a 300-400€ range.
i would mainly use it for gaming 70% media 20% office 10%. Motion-Inputlag > Quality. The VA Panels that i have used are horrible with smearing and ghosting, especially on console, i hope IPS will make this better. 240hz would be probably to much to ask looking at my budget?
any recommendations I can look in to?
I have quickly come to the realisation that prices of monitors are so drastically different between countries and regions, obviously.
Share the best places to look for monitors, and the cheapest places, in your region or country so save people some time looking.
**me personally I'm in Australia I didn't realise some monitors here can have a 50%-100% markup compared to the US as an example. International shipping costs do not help.
