When booting up it only display for half a second then nothing. Any ideas ?
Witchfire is vert- unfortunately. I've tried using UUU, which works in the main menu, but in game any FOV value you enter automatically reverts back as soon as you press enter.
Not sure if this only applies to 32:9 as I didn't test 21:9.
Here's a comparison:
Any help would be appreciated!
I tried using Unreal Engine Unlocker 4 which works but crashes the game. I don't know how to configure SUWSF either :(
Returned home after a 2 month vacation and found my G9 dead :(
Unplugging power cable and plugging back in, the monitor displays for about half a second then goes black. At this point the backlight is on but I cannot even access the monitor menus.
With nothing plugged in but a power cable, I see "no signal" for a half second then it goes black. I still cannot access the monitor OSD. This tells me it is an issue with the monitor itself and not a problem with the video device or the displayport cable.
My warranty expired a month ago. I have the exact issue depicted in this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/widescreengamingforum/comments/10r8w19/samsung_g9_odyssey_49_inch_black_screen_and_cant/
Does anyone have any suggestions or am I just shit out of luck because it is samsung? Sad to spend $2000 cad on a monitor that only lasts two years.
A video of my problem:
Just got this Samsung Odyssey G9. This glitch happens irregularly about once every few minutes. The glitch only lasts a split second. This has been the case since I plugged it in.
The glitch does not show up on screen recordings so I suspect the screen to be at fault, not the pc.
The G9 is plugged into my pc with displayport (tried changing to hdmi, problem still remained).
The pc has an i9 13th gen processor, rtx 4090 graphics card, 64GB ram and a msi tomahawk motherboard.
Anyone know how to get Voidigo to run in 32:9? The menus run in ultrawide (although the scaling is off), but actual gameplay is limited to 16:9.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hey, just got the Samsung C49RG94SSP and I have black Bars at the Edges, left right and on the top.
The Screen Adjustment option from the monitor is grayed out. I tried to read through the manual but could not find anything.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Sup guys.
Today my new Samsung 57" Odysey G9 Monitor arrived. Love it so freakin much! The extra Height just makes it SOOOOO much better than my old 49" Monitor.
Even though its only 6cm higher (from 33.7cm to 39.2 cm) while the width increases by roughly 20cm it just feels like a way bigger screen. Well yes... you can Argue "just sit closer"... but thats just not the same.
just ignore the chaos on the table plx
The first thing i did was check the motion blur and ghosting the new monitor has compared to the old one. You can see the 120fps 4k Videos on Youtube. Or Download the original 120fps videos on Google Drive.
After that some Game Benchmarks needed to be done!
My current Setup:
Most of the Tests were done with "High" to "Extreme" Settings. Chosen to get decent FPS in 7680x2160 Resolution. Only Cyberpunk 2077 with Raytracing uses DLSS FrameGeneration but no Upsampling was used. Not in any case!
Shoutout to DOOM Eternal. Vulkan Engine is doing absolutely Awesome! Wish more games would use their Engine and actually knew what they were doing!
Honorable Mention to Forza Horizon 5! Also doing awesome Work
Metro Exodus Settings here:
Remnant 2 does ABSOLUTLEY Horrible in Full Resolution. But the Developers did say that "this game is not meant to be played without Upsampling" And to their defense i have to admit... if you don't look at the FPS counter top left you probably WON'T notice a quality difference from Full Size to Quality, Balanced, Performance, Ultra Performance DLSS Presets. Truly an impressive feat.
Compare them easier here: https://slow.pics/c/0AYahRDq
(Screenshots in Original Resolution also on GDrive)
So with DLSS and FrameGen most Games should be playable on this Monitor.... IF you own a RTX4090....
The 7680x2160 Resolution is twice 4K so you do have 16.6Milion Pixels that want to be defined. Compared to 5120x1440 with 7.4 milion and 3840x1080 which are 4.2 milion that is quite a lot.
But yeah... if nothing goes anymore you can still reduce resolution. While not all games scale up well enough (i.e Baldurs Gate 3 looks totally pixelated in 3840x1080 while Forza Horizon 5 barely notices the difference) thanks to internal upscaling it is still the only way to get decent FPS.
Except the get a DLSS FrameGen Mod like Starfield :)
All in all i don't regret buying this monitor at all. Especially since i got a huge discount as this is my 4th 32:9 Monitor from Samsung :P
So I got my odyssey g9 around a couple months ago and its been working perfectly since then. However now its suddenly became extremely dim and I can barely see whats on screen. I was watching a normal youtube video when it happened and I havent messed with any settings recently.
Changing the brightness doesnt affect it at all and the issue isnt from the PC as its still barely visible when changing inputs. I tried looking it up but couldnt find anyone with similar problems. Any ideas how to fix this?
I haven't seen this discussed anywhere else and I just found out about it so now is as good a time as any: add fFPGeometryFOV=140.0000 into the Camera settings in Documents\My Games\Starfield\StarfieldCustom.ini
Sup guys.
Starfield is out, and as expected it doesnt have proper 32:9 support.
But hey, we knew that right? Some people already got rid of the black bars and other stuff with Ini edits. Now all that's left is to fix the broken Interface parts.
The process here is exactly the same as years ago with Fallout 4.... seriously....
So you need the ini edit in StarfieldCustom.ini to load single Files instead of archives only.
[Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=
then you can replace the interface files with the moded ones in /Starfield/Data/interface
for instances the favoritesmenu.swf
I've also tried with the scopemenu.swf but i don't have a gun with a scope right now :(
All files will be uploaded to mega.nz if i have enough i will release it on Nexusmods.

Make Screenshots of every Menu that doesn't work properly in 32:9 and maybe take a guess in which file it could be.... there are WAY too many of those...
This is for 32:9 ONLY. no matter if 3840x1080 or 5120x1440 so if you're on triplewide 48:9 feel free to mod it on your own.

Haldi
I usually play some games on my phone via Steam link, but not every game accepts the somewhat weird aspect ratio of my S10e, The resolution I usually set is 1520x720, this is exactly half of my screen resolution, and it's 19:9, In certain games like Cuphead or Hollow knight is possible to edit the aspect ratio via hex editor but I don't have a clue of which hex value correspond to 19:9, does someone know?
Not a huge deal I can play games without it but it would be nice to have fullscreen!
I have an old version of the game (1.04) and the latest version if that's useful to know.
Is it possible to release a fix for the game Under the Waves that was released today ? The game seems to be nice but even with ultrawide resolution available to select at menu it does not work at all
Tks
Of course 2160 is easy but I'm actually surprised this isn't on WSGF's common resolution list by now but they only have 5120 or 5760 in the list. Currently playing AC:Valhalla and needing to edit the .exe for the cutscene fix and I'm sure I'll need it for future revisiting of older titles that previously needed a hex fix for Ultrawide compatibility.
Thanks!
I am looking at a 32:9 gaming monitor because I love to play games and video edit.
I am currently in the process of getting a new pc (I7 13700k/I7 14700k, RTX4080/RTX 4080 TI/RTX4090)
Any recommendations would help out a lot
