Post Guidelines
Posts must be explicitly related to South Carolinian politics. This includes the interaction of federal and state politics, as well as that state's congressional delegation. Local politics are permissible if they would reasonably be of interest to a statewide audience.
Title must fairly describe link contents. You don't have to use the site's title, but refrain from editorializing.
Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Bonus points, however, for articles from local outlets that give insight that might not be available in state-wide or nation-wide publications.

No soliciting or advertising. Links to activism subreddits are fine, but petitions, donation links, and volunteer signups are not.

Good evening fellow South Carolinians! Planned Parenthood is holding a rally for reproductive rights next Saturday, May 14th, 4-6pm in downtown Charleston's Marion Square and they need your support! As you may or may not already be aware, last Wednesday they held a rally in Charleston with less than twenty-four hours notice and had a turnout of over 200, so it is anticipated that this upcoming rally will be at least twice that. While this is good, the fight for reproductive rights here in South Carolina needs these rallies to be as large as humanly possible, and that can only happen with your grass roots support. So spread the word and tell your friends, family, coworkers, dentist, pets, everyone both online and offline to show up and show the politicians that we won't take this laying down! #Rally4RoeSC
(This account is not affiliated with Planned Parenthood, just a supporter who wants to spread the word)
Edit: And now with graphics!
From SC blue cross blue shield benefits guide:
"Pregnancy and pediatric care Maternity benefits are provided to subscribers and their covered spouses . Covered children do not have maternity benefits. Maternity benefits include necessary prenatal and postpartum care, including childbirth, miscarriage and complications related to pregnancy."
So not only may your 13 year daughter have to carry a baby to term, you (as the parent) will be on the hook for ALL costs (Dr visits, labor, delivery, anesthesia, etc.)
Unless, of course, you kick her out of the house and push her into medicaid and the federal government's dime. Of course all the good Republicans here would never think of doing that...
Quick internet search tells me that the average non-insured costs for having a baby in SC runs between $9,000-$25,000 (without complications)
History was made on Thursday in the United States Senate.
And neither Lindsey Graham nor Rand Paul could be bothered to be on the floor for it.
