Do you pay monthly or bimonthly Myrtle Beach city water bill?
For anyone interested,
From Nov. 21-23rd at The Conference Center at Barefoot Resort (2250 Premier Resort Blvd, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582)
Care Access is doing free health screenings of lipoprotein(a), a1c, kidney function, and they also give a $45 gift card for your time, given in person once you participate. It is a pretty quick sign up on their website. When I went to a prior one they did it was pretty seamless without much wait and at a nice venue. Worth the money and free lab results for anyone interested.
We are considering buying a home on a retention pond behind the lot and we are concerned on if we will hate it long term.
The lot is right on the end where the “pipe” is.
For those of you with experience- how did you like it? Any issues with snakes, etc?
Hello - I’m a recently retired Nova Scotian woman coming to stay in MB January-March. I’ve found a few fitness class options at local rec centers as well as some crafting drop-in sessions at libraries. My question is whether local community members are a welcoming folk to visitors or are they fairly closed groups, or perhaps just indifferent? I plan to attend anyway but it’s always nice to meet new people. Thanks!
Here for the weekend. What do you recommend for best seafood (that has other items beyond seafood for my picky daugther) and also a good sandwich place?
Are there any Buddhist groups in the area? The closest temple I know if is in Brunswick County across the border in North Carolina, but are there any meetups or groups closer?
Hi we are looking for some dinner ideas we are vegetarian and are looking for suggestions in area. Thanks!
I looked for it on Google but could not see any that specifically have slow pitch softball batting cages. Does anyone know who does in this area?
What are your experiences renting short term over the winter months? Is there a current need? Would you be better off listing with AirBnB, assuming locals welcome AirBnB properties? Or would finding a long term tenant be the wiser choice? I have an opportunity to purchase a 1 bdrm 1 bath condo, the only way i can afford this opportunity is to have it make money immediately.... i plan to live here myself eventually and don't think this sort of opportunity will come again... I would be managing from out of state for a few years and hear that management companies in the area are atrocious and unreliable?
Hey,
Does anyone know a place that would allow 3 dogs? I am trying to find beachfront. My oldest girl is dying of cancer and I really just want to spend some time with her, don’t care as much about the other two, I just know Callie loves the wind in her fur. I just want some memories with her before she’s gone. I’m not even a huge beach person but I do find it peaceful, I usually just lounge on a balcony the times I’ve gone in the past.
If it matters, they are all small spaniels, around 20lbs each.
Can anyone enlighten me on the Medical and Hospital care in the area? Does anyplace have a really bad or really good reputation? (not interested in dental or mental health)
I know most locals say crime and such are overplayed in the area but im planning to take a evening walk from the start of the promenade all the way down to around 18th ave S. Wondering if i should be concerned at all.
Many years ago (like in 1999 I think), when I could ill-afford it, I got 2 very expensive parking tickets in NYC (the no parking sign had been knocked over and I didn't think twice that I could score such a sweet spot on a Saturday). Like $400 total for the 2 of them. I just never paid them. We never took my car into the city again and nothing ever came of it.
On Friday, we lost trac of time having too much fun in the Fun Plaza and I was like 5 minutes late back to the car parked at a meter on 9th. I have a $30 ticket sitting in the car that I fully intend to pay once we get home tomorrow.
But what if I don't? I've got to imagine the technology to hunt me down and get the money is much better than it was 25 years ago. Again...I fully intend to pay but am more curious than anything else.
Thanks
Going tomorrow mid morning, any good areas in NMB.
New to area and need Church recommendations? Looking for older (old people) crowd, friends needed.
Edit: Protestant, live near Costco. Looking for more than just Sunday morning. I noticed many churches have what they call groups which is fine but what happened to Sunday night service, weds night service and/or bible studies? Once a week is just not enough for me. I am considering just joining two churches but to not tell anyone, lol
I am a true southerner and I received more evil eye hateful looks at myrtle beach the past 2 days than in my entire life. Worst of all for no reason other than existing and for being over age 55 and kind to everyone. Going to try Charleston or Hilton head next time, what a shame because I have always myrtle but did not appreciate how I was treated here this time.
My partner and I are going to be in Myrtle Beach for Thanksgiving/weekend . We are looking for a restaurant for late afternoon or in the evening on Thanksgiving. Ideally, I’d love a place that has a nicer atmosphere with a Thanksgiving buffet like Chestnut Hill, but they are fully booked. All the other options I found are either kitschy looking tourist buffets like Captain George’s, or regular sitdown restaurants.
Any recommendations? Thank you!
Do others winterize your RV's for winter here at Myrtle Beach? It seems it rarely freezes here but this will be my first winter here.
I reckon this is a long shot... I'm looking for something in the 20 to 75 gal range.
We've spent many individual weeks in the Myrtle/Surfside area in Summer/Spring/Fall over 15 years or so. Never Winter. As we're considering moving down there in the next couple of years we're thinking of renting a house in North Myrtle for 4 weeks in Feb 2025, to get a feel for what it's like off season. Will a lot of things be shut down? What should we expect for the weather. Would we be able to walk the beach in sweatshirts/jackets, etc?
My wife will be working remotely while we're there. The goal is to live more like a resident than a tourist for this period.
Just moved here from Charleston . Prior to that was in NY area /dc /CT and Washington state. Growing up , I knocked on doors to trick or treat. We did this both on the west coast and east coast. We now have a house in a family neighborhood with lots of kids and only got 3 trick or treaters. We noticed a lot of our neighbors had tables set up with candy at the foot of the driveway and the kids went there . We decorated our house and had lots of lights on and windows open . We were a little bummed to not get more kids and now we have soooo much extra candy I’m not sure if this is just how things are done here in This area or this is how it is everywhere (I’m in early 30s). Should we bother to buy any next year ?
