And could you post a picture next to a ruled Moleskine?
The Fabriano Ecoqua notebooks nearby me all come in shrinkwrap, and the stores are justifiably not keen on me opening them up just to see if I like them. The most important thing for me in a notebook, though, is the ruling: I like it light (so my writing stands out) and narrow (for my small handwriting). Moleskine is perfect, but very expensive and I like the paper-based Fabriano cover.
It's also quite difficult to get a good image of the ruling online...
If some kind soul could post a photo comparing the ruling between the two I'd be enormously grateful.
Apprentice mechanic and really think it'd be useful to essentially have like 3-5 books with in detail breakdowns of everything from tools use, repair and diagnostic procedures, operating principles to a entire booklet dedicated to electrical systems and wiring with a lot of diagrams. Plus who knows, probably be useful for any rookies in the future.
So much stuff to learn and track in such a short time, easier to have it all written down since the act of writing physically causes neurological connections to form quicker due to the act itself.
Machinist friend of mine uses A5 because it's a good size but not too big that it feels like there's empty space. I'm think A5, cardboard or some non absorbent cover with thicker pages so it doesn't get obliterated by oil.
I was tired of my moody rambles taking over more productive/reflective pages, so I decided to separate the two.
Smaller, too, so I can carry it around when I need to vent on short notice, and if it ends up being filled with things that I can't look at any more or want to die with me, I can recycle it or remove pages without a huge loss.
And yes, I know the black is a little on the nose.
I had an original Midori years ago, and fell in love with TRP inserts for the thin crinkly paper. I did like the narrow profile of the whole traveler’s notebook, but needed more space for writing than the narrow inserts.
Switched to Moleskine softcover for a while. I love the 5mm grid paper but it wasn’t as thin.
Just bought a PlannerMonkeyCo softcover grid notebook. It’s A5 size, which I didn’t realize. is wider than a Moleskine bc Moleskines are only 5inches wide wheareas A5 is 5.8inches wide!
My plan was to put that A5 notebook into a traveler’s notebook cover. But I’m wondering if I should cut it down to Moleskine size before I invest in a leather cover…I’ve already started planning in it so I would lose a few words on the edges. I think I like how much space it gives me on each page, but am wondering if anyone else uses an A5 traveler’s notebook, do you like it or is it just too much?
Hello fellow notebook aficionados, I come to you all for advice. I just filled my diary of about a decade; I don’t do long form in there, just big life events and personal developments, and enjoy going back through to see my progress. I love the notebook itself, though it’s pretty funny: the American Girl Doll Hallmark locking diary. I’d get another off eBay, but… I feel like my design taste has changed a bit since age 11.
What I’m looking for: hardcover, fountain pen friendly paper, and at least 200 pages, ideally more. Not picky about scale. I can’t find the page count anywhere, but this notebook is solidly 2” thick. I’d love to have another journal that will last me years!
Any recommendations welcome and appreciated ❤️
hi people! i was going to buy a notebook for gaming and i got interested on a "ACER NITRO 5 i5 RTX 3050"
is it good?
Hi.
Does anybody know or recognise what this notebook is? I've recently watched the film "A Man Called Otto" and there is a scene that shows this notebook. The closest I can come to is Noble Life A7(ruled) because of the colour and size but the black frame on the notebook in the film is different to the Life notebooks. Unfortunately I am unable to get a better picture as this is a photo I took with my phone of the scene on my tablet and I was unable to take a screenshot of the scene as it was on Netflix. Any help would be great. TIA.
I ordered from them more than 2 years ago for the first time and even tho the shipping took long, I got an tracking update two days after buying.
But now it has been well over a month after buying the new one and not a single update apart from ,,your order is confirmed"....I was soooo lucking forward to their cute autumn design and now the autumn is officially over :( and still no update. I wrote them an e-mail but it seems they ghosted me or something, idk.
In my country, there aren't any good stationery shops that offer quality stationery products, so I decided to open one. I was wondering about your opinion on which notebooks and other stationery goods are the most popular and reliable?
All this time my black notebook has been the victim of doggo drool and ripped out pieces of paper. What can I do with it now? Any suggestions?
I am new to this quality notebook world so apologies if this has already been asked. I couldn’t find anything on search.
Is there a nb that has say 50 pages of each in?
I find myself writing notes in lined and then I want to do a diagram on blank. I can (and do) do it on the next lined page but I find the lines distracting and reduce my drawing flow.
Equally I don’t draw/ diagram enough to warrant carrying a separate blank page nb around too.
Thanks
Hey notebook friends!
I have a lot of different sized notebooks, experimented with planning/ journaling in all of them, and still cannot decide which one to stick with. I see a lot of people post similar dilemmas, so maybe I need to embrace the inconsistencies? But I bought a nice A6 cover last weekend at the Ohio Pen Show, and love it to pieces! It fits 2 Midori MD A6 notebooks, so that works for me, but I'm not sure if the size bothers me as much as having multiple notebooks, but something is throwing off my writing mojo. Can't really put a finger on it. I prefer my EDC to be minimal, but I do carry multiple pens. I'm just having a hard time keeping one system that I stick with long term, and I want to use up my notebooks.
If this is you, please share your wisdom on how you overcame the desire to move into a different notebook/system before finishing one. I love a commonplace book, but not sure how to lay it out to contain all the info I want to keep. Please send help and caffeine! ☕ 😂
Went to an industry conference this week and so many vendors were giving out notebooks as free merch! I was super honest and told them I collect notebooks and everyone was happy to share.
Expressed with the quality of all the notebooks. Also, pretty decent pens.
First post on this sub, but I have a notebook emergency and you are the only ones I trust. I am starting a new project and can't decide which notebook to use. If it helps, the project is a series about all the chaos that happens at my retail job. This notebook will be coming to work with me (I'll be changing names and using fictional characters).
I just can't decide!
Also, all of these were bought on Amazon if anyone wants to buy some. They came in packs of 3.
Anyone know where I can order a notebook without the study app??
Has anyone gotten a nice leather cover that the Leuchtturm "Some Lines a Day" book fits in? It's A5 like their regular notebooks, but a bit thicker. (on the right in the photo.) I imagine most covers are made for the standard notebooks, so I'm not sure if the thicker one would fit as well?
Not a repost, but my local TK maxx/Homesense has some more L1917s has anyone else bought the same notebook multiple times over before finishing the first?
Last week I shared the photo of a Life paper pad that I bought recently, and was informed in the replies that the Mitsubishi Bank Paper has been discontinued. So I managed to get a bit more. Could anybody tell me what the difference between this (T35) and the one with red cover (T36) is except the cover colour?
I am feeling the Christmas spirit early hence the stickers.
Got this as a gift while the show was still on. Can’t believe so many years have passed now!
I’ve started tinkering with making TN inserts for me Std and Passport size TN’s. I am currently using this chain stitch because it is supposedly stronger than a pamphlet or saddle stitch, but I’m not sure. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Yes, this is my stitching in the pic that I did on the notebook i made tonight. Thx!
Hi all! I’m about to purchase a couple of Paper Republic’s gorgeous Grand Voyager XLs but they’re out of stock on their ruled notebook inserts, and I’d love some recommendations of other notebooks (softcover ideally) to try!
They’re a little too small for standard A5s. These are the dimensions and what they fit:
size: [xl] leather journal: 14.5 x 21 cm / 5.7 x 8.3 inches (closed)
Fits all notebooks up to: 14 x 20 cm / 5.5 x 7.8 inches for [xl]
Based on this video the Moleskine 5 x 8.25 inches large also fits, but I’d love recommendations for different notebooks, ideally ones that are slimmer than Moleskine’s 240 pages (120 sheets). Thanks!
i'm super interested in buying a paper republic book but i've been looking through this subreddit and it seems like the grand voyageur xl does not properly fit a5 notebooks.
i'm a big lover of midori MD a6 notebooks and am looking at either the pocket grand voyageur or portfolio. does anyone know if either of the pocket books comfortably fit an a6 midori MD book? i don't mind if there isnt much of a gap between the edge of the paper and the cover but cant stand paper sticking out of the cover when the book is closed 🥲
