Notebooks are an obsession. I usually use them to write ideas, thoughts, hopes, notes, everything — all in one notebook.
This time I want to have a dedicated notebook for certain things. The Midori MD blank paper I will use for collages, the Muji’s I usually use as my everyday pocket notebooks, the same with the Leuchtturm 1917, I’m it’s a bit nicer than the Muji’s, so I want to use it for something “special”. I like the color, and it’s dot grid, one of my favorite layouts.
I started my last Leuchtturm when I was severely depressed, and it’s full of some really dark thoughts. I want to do something different with this one.
And finally there’s the Apica C.D. Grid squares. I really like the grid squares. My favorite layout of all time. I’ve never used these before, so I’m trying to figure out what to use it for. I’m a photographer, so I’ll probably use it for jotting down and brainstorming ideas for photoshoots and projects. We’ll see.
What are your favorites, and what do you all use yours for?
Hi, so I love taking notes (nothing in particular but just general random stuff) on papers so end up with 50 million pages. So I'm looking at a notebook that could be orgonised into sections so I can keep everything together but have it orgonised. Or even if people have suggestions on a system to keep orgonised without 50 diffrent notebooks.
I've been looking at stuff like rocketbooks, binder notebooks (or simular eg disk). But I'm just really unsure what would be right for me. I currently use A4 a lot but will to look into an A5. Something that could have diffrent types of paper would be nice (plain, dotted, lined ect) but not a must.
Budget wise would rather it not be to exspensive but if I feel it would be worth it willing to spend a bit.
If it helps for refence I have ADHD and am in Australia.
Thanks in advance :)
i'm no notebook professional but ive really been enjoying these soft-ring, 80sheet notebooks from kokuyo!! they're so lightweight and portable; the spring colour is just a plus. also i know nothing of paper quality, but i seem to like the softness of these pages n.n
Hey folks,
does anybody know of any notebooks similar to the Muji recycled ones (B5, not too many pages, title line + rule), but with fountain-pen friendly paper?
Thanks!

It’s great for getting a few lines a day written down and I can’t wait to compare years. Only downside is it picks up cat hair very easily lol
Hello! I own two Louise Carmen Notebooks and really want a pocket size. I love the leather with Louise Carmen and that it’s an envelope style notebook, but after one of the charms fell off after a couple uses, I’m not ready to spend more money with them. I also really dislike that the knot for the elastic is at the back. I own a Paper Republic notebook for my desk journal and love it, but don’t like the open side. Embossing is also desirable as I’d like to get some personalized gifts for friends.
Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.
Hi all, I'm looking for modular notebooks brands, ala Midori travelers.... but cheaper.
Previously I used off-brand PVC covers. These have indents from the charms on the rubber strap, and the inside tears out. Threw it out after a few years.
My refills are the regular long size, approx 10.5 x 19 cm
Since I really love the modular style, I'm planning to upgrade my PVC to genuine leather, or at least long lasting faux leather, with replaceable elastic strings. Budget is USD30.
Midori's Travellers is on consideration, but its USD50+
I also found Wanderings on Amazon, which is significantly cheaper.
Moterm and KISSKI look good too.
Not sure if any of these are genuine as advertised on Amazon, or faux leather.
Anyone who has used Moterm, KISSKI and Wanderings (or any cheaper than Travelers), are these good covers? Anyone know of South East Asian companies that do modular journals too?
Hi! I'm looking for a notebook I'm gonna use as a journal/commonplace book. I am currently using a Moleskine, but with my fountain pens ghosting is an issue.
My ideal notebook would have: 90-120 gsm paper (no more, no less), circa B6 size (A6 is too small and A5 is too big), blank or dotted pages, a hardcover with solid colour or a regular pattern. Possibly, paper should be ivory (not white) and not very smooth (I occasionally draw on it).
I live in Europe and the notebook should therefore be available here.
Thanks in advance for your answers :) I hope there's some notebook that satisfies these conditions out there!
Thinking about getting the roadbook from LC as I have their pocket size journal and really like it. However, not sure how well it would fit a regular A5 notebook (I use the Midori MD A5 as my everday journal). I compared the width sizes of the Midori vs the LC inserts and Midori is slightly larger.
Does anyone own an LC and tried fitting a regular A5?
I use medium and broad nib usually so want to avoid paper that tends to feather.
Any thoughts?
Thank you.
I am wondering if anyone in this community has the La Compagnie Du Kraft Novum Organum? I found it online and I fell in love with the look and the brass binding mechanisim which I prefer to the elastic band ones. My only hesitation is that it looks like you have to purchase their refills and I would prefer if I could use any A5 traveler refill instead so I dont have to pay shipping from France everytime I need new pages.
It looks like their binding mechanisim works with 2 holes but its hard to see. This is the only explainer I could find: https://www.instagram.com/reel/CK0pNMhKD8X/
I am wondering if there is a relatively easy way to DIY this with a cheaper refill?
Does anyone have any experience with this notebook? Love? Hate?
hello notebook lovers
Are there any cheap notebook brands that are compatible with fountain pens? I have a Leuchtturm 1917 here and it bleeds throuch – yuck! The 120g notebook from Leuchtturm is too expensive for me
As I'm living in Germany it should be available here. Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance!
I’ve been trying to find binders that I can use for my notes which I can easily open and close to take or add more pages.
Few years back, I bought something similar to this A4 spiral coil binding machine, which punches 46 holes. It came with springs and I have been using that for quite some time.
However, I have been trying to find binders that are easier to use & can me opened and closed. But all I can find online are 30-hole plastic binders like this
I was hoping if anyone can tell me if I can somehow make that work for my notes. If for example, I just cut some that does not fit into the holes because of the obvious spacing differences and leave those that do, OR if i need to invest in a binder that punches 30 holes instead and just stick to springs for the mean time for the one I currently have 🥲
Thank you to anyone that can help.
differences between these three andd anything to know about? thank youu
Looking for a notebook for semi-daily journaling, bucket list keeping and possibly saving mementos such as tickets and other things from the daily adventures. Ideas if I should have 2 separate notebooks or combine concept? Thanks in advance!!

Me ajudem nesta dúvida cruel 😩 porfavor
EDIT: Thanks so much for your input, everyone! Looks like the exact thing I'm after doesn't exist, so I got him an A5 travelers with some inserts. I think it's a good solution. If any notebook companies are lurking for market research...here's a gap for you to fill. ;-)
Hey there! My husband has asked for a couple notebooks for Christmas, and even though I consider myself decently well-versed in the notebook/journal world, I'm at a loss for one of them.
He'd like to create a hobby journal, so he wants a book with three distinct sections. But he also would like something bound, not spiral. It should also be lined and "something basic."
I can't find anything bound that has three built-in sections. Have any of you ever seen anything like that?
I've thought of some workarounds, like getting him a cover that he could slip three small books into, or getting some tabs he could customize. But with the "something basic" request, my preference would be a pretty standard notebook that just has three built-in divider sheets.
Thanks notebook lovers!
I’m looking to get my mom two or three custom notebooks for Christmas, the only problem is every website I see requires a minimum order of around 100. I already have a design in mind, are there any company’s that sell custom notebooks in smaller quantities?
