Legitimately Mentally Exhausted At The Concept of Hair Styling

I was cursed with straight fine hair that always sticks straight down. Recently I’ve gotten a perm and it made me realize how legitimately awful we have it. Under no condition are any of us (at least dudes without long hair) able to 1. wear a hat 2. exit a pool 3. put anything in contact with our hair without it just self destructing and needing to restyle it. Worst of all by far is anything involving water. So what, I go on a camping trip and now I have to look horrible for the entire time because there are no blow driers or products? Well… yea. Meanwhile anyone else I know has this lustrous textured wavy hair that’s shape is somehow impervious to water. Often whenever i exit a pool a friend will say “Wow your hair sticks straight to your head!” “Woah that’s what your natural hair looks like?” Jesus Christ what do you want me to do? I got a perm a couple months ago and my life has changed quite a decent amount. I’m actually able to enter water, I can camp without looking stupid, I don’t have to really style it anymore. Is this really what we miss out on having pin straight hair? That fact has just been bothering me so much. If anyone knows ANY sort of way to not have these issues with straight hair without just getting a perm LMK cause without one so many aspects of certain things just suck. Do I really need to dish out 60-150 bucks every 2-4 months just to be happy with my appearance?

Is a haircut like this possible with little effort in the morning?

I’ve been cursed with this guys hair type and all my life I’ve wanted some sort of haircut that wasn’t incredibly fragile or difficult to style. With this hair type this is incredibly difficult. My hair is completely textureless and I currently have a perm to make the process of hair styling easier, but it’s just really expensive to keep doing this. If I were to have grown out hair like this how likely is it that something like in the image could just be it’s natural state? If not, how far off would it be? Whenever I got out of a pool before my perm everything would just stick straight down and be too fine to move back. Plus whenever I did something like put on a hat, get hit by wind, or really just touch it, it would get ruined for the rest of the day until I could restyle it. At the time it was relatively mid length and I was doing a middle part (with copious amounts of hair spray to keep it from sticking straight down) I’ve heard advice about blowdrying (which I did) but it usually never holds for an entire day just off that. So how likely is a long style like in the picture to be low maintenance?

Product for matte "dried sweat" hair (hear me out)

Younger white guy with thick-ish, wavy hair. Short-medium length.

I work a pretty labor intensive job and sweat my ass off all day, but at the end of the day my hair always looks amazing (when fixing it up) compared to when I'm actually clean and try to style it with a product lol. Obviously I am not willing to have dried sweat and dirt/dust in my hair to look the best I can look, and I'm sure there's a way to achieve that hair texture with a product(s).

I'm assuming some sort of powder would be best? Dry/matte look, good hold, zero shine and stickiness. I've used so many products over the years and nothing gets the "dried sweat" hair lol. Powder alone never worked for me, but maybe there's a good combo of powder and a paste or something? Thanks.
