Include everybody. Anyone with any amount of texture in their hair is welcome here. Passing judgment on whether someone else’s hair is “curly enough” is neither useful nor productive for our common goal of bringing out the best in our hair. Please also remember that terms like “afro” and “big chop” have a long and complex history within the natural hair movement for black women (see wiki). To keep our community welcoming, it’s important that we respect these words and use them appropriately.
Do not privately message users of this subreddit. Reminder: this is a SFW subreddit. Do not privately message users, especially with "compliments" (those can be shared publicly) or sexual requests. If you wish to contact someone via PM, ask them in public chat first. They do not need to answer you.
Respect cultural terms The natural hair movement has a long history and the words created in it have meanings. It’s important to respect where these words, techniques, and more came from, and celebrate the importance of the work done by these early pioneers. Please be aware of terms such as “big chop”, “afro”, “natural hair journey”. Be thoughtful and respectful about using these powerful terms appropriately!

I spray my hair with water and brush it down and use Herbal Essence Mousse (the $5 one) and scrunch my hair and thats it. I want it to look better especially at my roots.
Routine is to wash with aussie no paraben shampoo then comb while wet, Naturally dry or Tshirt dry. And shampoo after 2-3 days.
It It's really crazy. Short hair is kinda straight and waves become crazy as it gets longer like when it's this length . It's really dry. I'm bad with haircare. Just trying to see what I can do. Would you say it's 2a 2b or 2c? And what products and how should I use?
I am wondering if you guys have any product recommendations or tips to repair hair after bleaching so it doesn't ruin the curl.
Hello, my son has curly hair that he wears in a kind of pompadour, very short in the back and on the sides, with lots of volume and height on top, especially in the front where he has big barrel curls. I want to get him some nice hair products for Christmas this year. His curls get really dry up top and want to frizz in the winter especially. I was hoping to get him a nice curl crème and something like gel for hold, as well as one of those curling brushes. The challenge is, my son tries hard to live plastic-free. He uses bar shampoo and conditioner, and is very responsible about waste in a way that I find inspiring. Are there any great smelling, not too feminine* products that come in sustainable packaging?
I always see videos of people saying “ i got 2b hair” or “ i got 3c hair” but i dont know what curl type i got!!! Can anyone help me outttt
Routine: I wet my hair, use a curl leave-in conditioner, and then apply curl cream (scrunch it a little bit). Then, I hover over my hair with a diffuser, and lastly, I put the diffuser in my hair.
I’m looking for products that can loosen up my curls and ease up on frizz so I can wear them kinda like zendeya in euphoria instead of Shirley temple 😂
I have islander type of hair and I’m looking for natural products. I’m not sure what to put in it. I’ve had my hair down to my shoulder before but had to cut it due to my scalp being too dry any advice welcome.
I was almost out of gel (Vital Care extreme hold SPORT GEL 10 hold & shine) so I added some water in to the container, gave it a good shake, and put in a pump of mousse (Personal care Shea Solutions coconut and hibiscus "Compare to Shea Moisture Frizz-Free curl mousse") followed by another shake and ended up with something that wasn't tacky/sticky and had the consistency of a conditioner.
Routine:
Wash with whatever shampoo is around (either something more clarifying or moisturizing depending on what my hair wants)
Finger comb and scrunch in BRIXY bar conditioner (mint eucalyptus)
When hair is sopping wet from rinse apply a little Suave Pink Luscious Curls Styling Cream.
Squish in the created hair potion
Plop for 10-15 minutes then air dry or use a diffuser for a bit before I get tired of it and just wait for the cast to form and scrunch out the crunch.
so just used this for the first time today. i've heard really great things about it and wanted to give it a try.. well honestly kinda scared right now. i shampooed my hair conditioned my hair and then i went to use this. on the bottle it says to use on mid shaft and ends of hair. (just to put it out there my hair is really thin and curly and i don't have the longest hair) so i have all my hair in my hand and i start putting it on my mid shafts to ends. well literally almost immediately my hand started burning like there was hot water and at first i thought the water from the shower just got hot for a second but i put more on my hair and realized it was the product. well i massaged my hair for 8 seconds like the bottle said and rinsed it out. my hand stopped burning probably like a couple seconds after i put it on my hair. i didn't notice any hair falling out after i rinsed it out but my hair is in a towel right now lol so i have no idea how my hair is rn. but please if u have used this product has this happened to you? could i be allergic to it? i want to keep trying to use it and see if it does anything for me but scared. so please any tips?
